I want so much to give this property a 10 rating. This is a beautiful property with a courtyard, in a very quiet part of the historic center of Arequipa. It's basically at the end of the main street that goes to the main plaza. You have access to hundreds of great restaurants. The city government keeps the historic center so clean. The room and bathroom were not big, but the bed was comfortable with great linens and fantastic duvet and blankets. The bathroom linens were also soft and there was lots of hot water for showers. Unfortunately, they don't have any heat in the hotel. One day and evening we were quite comfortable, because it had gotten quite hot outside. But the other two days, having a little bit of heat in the bedroom would have been just slightly more comfortable. They had a great breakfast with good coffee, fresh fruit, fresh cucumber and tomato, and they cooked eggs fresh for you. I would recommend this property because it's great value for money.

No heat.

The ladies at the reception were extremely helpful and prepared breakfast to go on two ocassions when I had to leave earlier. Location wise it was perfect, quite close to the main attractions. Generally, the breakfast was decent, there were some options.

It was extremely cold in the room. The doors (both the entrance and balcony one) have space around them and you can feel the wind at night. It was extremely unpleasant and it would be nice to replace those doors and close them properly.

Very nicely situated hotel, great for exploring Arequipa and all the bars/restaurants. The room was comfortable and decently quiet given that it was on the ground floor. Good breakfast served on the terrace. Overall, recommended!

The shower was a hit and miss - I think I only managed to have one proper hot shower in my 3 nights stay. Apart from that one time, the water was at most luke warm at any time of the day so this is not something that only happens during most popular showering hours. That being said, from experience, showers in Peru are generally not great.

Hotel was perfect for our needs. We arrived at 5.30am and luckily for us the room was ready and the guy on reception let us check in, we are really grateful for that. Location was close to a main road so it was easy for bus/tour pick ups and easy walking distance to the main square. Each night they would ask what time we would be having breakfast, on both occasions were leaving early 4/5am and so they had take away lunch packs ready for us when we were leaving!

The shower took a little while to heat up but this is normal everywhere in Peru.Room had only a little window at the door so there wasn’t much natural light, it didnt bother us but may bother others.

Great setting with a nice inner courtyard and patio spaces. Good breakfast with a view of the mountains. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Bed was a little hard for my liking (personal preference). The take away breakfast could have been better. A sandwich with three slices of bread, with one thin slice of ham and cheese made it very dry - especially when the regular breakfast is quite nice (fruit, eggs, yoghurt, ham (more than one slice)).

Fabulous location-- quiet side avenue in the historic heart of Arequipa with easy walking around city center. Near excellent restaurants, Mirador de Yanahuara, Plaza de Armas, Parque Selva Alegre, etc. Adjacent to nice small plaza Campo Redondo with casual to elegant places for food, desserts, craft beer and cocktails Lovely common spaces--rooftop patio with panoramic views including volcanoes and much of the city. Cozy central courtyard with chairs and table, and comfy leather reading chairs on second floor Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast on upstairs patio, nicely tiled showers and comfortable beds!

No issues. Really enjoyed my stay.

The best part of this hotel is the location. For work I needed to go to several places around Arequipa, not only downtown, but also places located in Caima, Miraflores, etc. This location was strategic, not only because it was so close to downtown but also because it is located in a location where no cars are allowed so the nights were very peaceful. I also needed to use a place to meet coworkers and El Portal de San Lazaro had a great lobby that provided us endless coffee and tea. The front desk people were super helpful, respectful and they went out of their way to help the needs of all guests. Every morning the cleaning crew did a marvelous job to sanitize the hotel. I am allergic to dust and Arequipa can be very dusty. I never had any trouble in this place. I truly appreciated this. Their morning breakfast had juice (2 or 3 types), yogurt, fresh bread, ham, cheese, eggs, cereals, fresh fruit. It was great! Overall, one of the best places in Arequipa to stay where you can enjoy a good night sleep and premium service.

Everything was perfect in this hotel, nothing was bad.

Very good accommodation. It feels like Rijad in Morocco. Breakfast was excellent and the views from the rooftop were amazing. Don't look for better option as it will be hard to find The staff and location were amazing as well.

Nothing. But I reserve 10 for something unbelievable 😺

Good location and rustic. The rooftop restaurant for breakfast was good with full view of the nearby mountain range.

It is a little noisy at night, this exacerbated by my jet-lag. It will be great if the room had a kettle so that we can make a hot drink to promote sleeping.

They let us check in at 5 am as this is the arrival time of the Peru Hop bus from Huacachina. Gave us a take away bag lunch when we had to check out early in the morning. The location is in the historic part of town. Room is spacious and has table and chairs and refrigerator.

Pillows are a bit hard and high, as in most Peruvian hotels.
