The view was amazing. It faced south-southwest, so I was able to see the sunset each night (and a bit of the sunrise in the mornings as well). Because it was on the side of the bowl, I had an excellent view of the entire city, especially for the Christmas fireworks. The area was quiet and low-traffic, but still very easy to access amenities and the historical centre. The staff were amazing, kind and helpful. I had a bit of altitude sickness my first morning there, and they helped me find the closest pharmacy, which was only 300m away. And when I had to get up really early to catch the train to Machu Picchu, they served me a regular breakfast upstairs instead of just a simple packed breakfast, so I got to enjoy hot coffee before heading out. The bed was among the most comfortable I've slept on in a hotel, and the pillows were soft and just the right thickness. A portable heater was included in the room so my space was always comfortable and cozy. The wifi was strong and steady throughout the entire hotel.

The water in the shower wasn't hot. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't quite lukewarm either.

In general all was great. Problems with hot water were solved pretty quickly. The bathroom by design lacks ventilation, so humidity is quite high, but it wasn't a huge problem. The personnel were extremely nice to us. The location is relatively far from the center, but taxis are cheap in Cusco. Great value for money!

The staff was tremendous. Hernan and Giovanna are the perfect hosts. I am so grateful for their advice on getting me to moccha picchu. I highly recommend that if you are going to cuzco please stay at the Balconcillo hotel.

Staff was very nice, rooms were clean, free breakfast. I enjoyed the location.
