This hotel is so special. You are made to feel like you are home from the minute you walk through the door. The ladies who are running it are so welcoming and friendly. From the cleaner to the breakfast staff to the lady who runs the hotel everyone is lovely and just perfect. The room has Netflix, a warm shower and storage for luggage. The breakfast is amazing and nothing is ever too much hassle here. We felt right at home and we were looked after when we fell sick with altitude sickness. We loved our stay here and the people involved in the hotel. The location is perfect with bars and restaurants close by. Cusco is wonderful, we felt safe throughout our stay and honestly can't recommend this place enough. The price is so fair and out of everywhere we have stayed on our trip this place will always have a place in our heart. Thank you El Ave Azul. We had a wonderful 6 nights! X

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at El Ave Azul. Senoras Augusta, Erika and the rest of the ladies provided a warm, welcoming and attentive service. It felt like being in your own home. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with access to streaming services. The internet was also perfect. Breakfast was freshly prepared to our liking, made from local ingredients. When leaving early for tours a takeaway breakfast was prepared. Senora Augusta was very kind and called the tour operators to check their whereabouts and waited with us until they came even when it was very early in the morning. The hotel is very secure and we safely left our bags while visiting Machu Picchu. In over 3 months of travelling this has been our favourite hotel and we will miss being here. By the time we left we felt like we had made friends with the staff. It has been a pleasure and if we come back to Cusco, El Ave Azul will be number one on our list.

This Blue Bird Hotel will get you out of your travel blues. Brand new family run property, very helpful owner Mr Darwin. Try early check in at 9am or late check out at 9pm in any hotel in the world and see how much they charge extra. But for Darwin, it was done with a smile and without any extra charges. Hotel has minimalistic approach, clean and fresh. Breakfast was good for my Vegetarian Choice. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean with 24 hrs hot water. You can ask for room heater just in case you need it. Cocoa leaves tea is available 24/7 Do use the discounted and safe taxi services via hotel, you will save a lot. Lastly, Friends of cusco/Machupicchu is the tour agency I used which is just 300 meters from the hotel. Milton speaks fluent English and helped me with day tours and bus bookings with discounts. All the agencies suggested via Youtube charge more.

From the very beginning, the staff told me to make this my home. They took care of me so well and learned my name on the very first day. When I went out, they asked me if I had a coat. When i came home they asked me how my day was and what i had done and whether i had enjoyed it. At Breakfast they always asked me if I wanted more of anything or something different. They took a personal interest in me and we had conversations about family and our cities and travel. They were tolerant of my mediocre Spanish and helped me to improve. When I say that they felt like family to me, I am serious. They took such good care of me while I was there and wanted nothing more than to see me happy. I will miss my "Peruvian family" and can only hope that I can visit them again one day.

El Ave Azul is a charming boutique hotel in Cuzco that felt just like home. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who made my experience truly unforgettable. Erica, Orlando, Mama, Sophie, and Sophie’s Mom went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Every morning, I looked forward to the delicious breakfasts they prepared (especially, Mama’s papaya salad) which were not only tasty but also made with love. The attention to detail and the personal touches really made a difference. The staff was always available, ready to assist with anything I needed, which added to the feeling of being cared for like family. The atmosphere of the hotel was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect retreat after exploring the beautiful city of Cuzco. I can confidently say that I will be staying here again on my next visit. If you're looking for a place where you feel right at home with exceptional service, this hotel is the one to choose!

What I liked/ loved about this hotel the most was the staff. All of the ladies were amazingly welcoming, accomodating, helpful and genuinely caring about making my stay memorable.. At times it felt like I was staying with family. It was a very clean and cozy place to return to after an early start/long day. The room and bathroom were a good size and there was good Wi-Fi throughout the property. Plenty of warm blankets were provided for the cold nights. The hotel is also well-located to explore the city on foot.

There was nothing to dislike per se, but of you're tall, mind your head when entering the front door. This is very normal for historical buildings in the area.

My favorite place in Cusco! The amazing women there treated me like family and gave the best advice. I enjoyed exploring this area of Cusco, and found many activities, cafes, restaurants, body work \ massage, and laundry service within a short walk of the hotel. None of my tour guides had troubles finding the hotel, either! The breakfast--- my absolute favorite and so delicious, made to order and at the time you request. If trekking early, can get a simple breakfast to go. The hotel also stored my backpack while I went on a 6 day excursion outside of Cusco.

It can be easy to hear your neighbors as the walls are thin.

One of our best experiences ever, thanks to the lovely staff. So nice people, made us feel as family. Assisted with our taxi pickups and planning trips and activities. Stored our luggage for some days. Great location, walking to main square and buses. Quiet at night. Nice and tasty breakfast. Very convenient loundry service next door. Small shops and restaurants nearby. Taxis to airport and back are very affordable and convenient. Would highly recommend and definitely return.

My original hotel canceled on me the night before I was due to check in because of a problem with the bathroom. I found El Ave Azul on Booking.com and within five hours my room was ready. The staff are some of the kindest people I have ever met. They make themselves available at all hours of the day to help and answer questions. The location is excellent. The shower was always hot. The room was a good temperature. I highly recommend

I stayed at El Ave Azul for 4 nights. The place is very charming, the rooms are very comfortable and very well-maintained. The dining place at the first floor is quaint and charming. The breakfast prepared by Ms. Erika and Ms. Britney is sumptuous - very unlike the complementary breakfasts you get with the booking. For breakfast, they had fresh fruits, juices, fresh pancakes and eggs. The host Mr. Darwin is very friendly and helpful. I stayed at El Ave Azul during the civil unrest and Mr. Darwin was very accommodating with regard to receiving payments late. He also helped me get to the ATMs and around the city to find what I wanted to, personally accompanying me or asking the staff to accompany me to ATMs and banks here during the unrest. They treated me like family and I would definitely come back here. The place is very near to the city center at Cusco. Highly recommend!y
