Loved Hosteria de Anita! The staff were amazing - they held our luggage for us while we did an overnight trip to Machu Picchu, and they gave us good information about the area. The location is great, right near the best restaurants and close to the main square. The breakfast is outstanding - loads of choice and eggs made to order! Best breakfast of our trip so far! Good value for money. Water available to purchase at reception. The hotel itself is lovely - gorgeous courtyard for chilling out.

Two things to note - the rooms are cold. There is a heating panel but it only comes on from 7pm-7am. So if you’re in your room in the day it’s chilly. Also it’s good to know that taxis can’t stop outside the hotel, as it’s only accessible via about 40 steps up from the street!

Decent hosteria in the heart of Cusco! Our room had a really comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and an adjustable heating. We enjoyed the breakfast, which offered quite some variations and is served in two rooms around the kitchen and in the beautiful inner courtyard. Rooms are all facing the inner courtyard which makes the hostal a quite place (no noise from the street) but comes at the cost of having only minimal sun exposure (at least in June) - breakfast rooms could have been a little warmer in the morning.

Hostal listed laundry service, however we were told that this is no longer offered starting 2025. Staff was neither helpful in finding any other laundry service place.

The room was ok, they changed our towels everyday. They have many options for breakfast, which was really good. It is very central, so that it makes easy to visit every part of Cusco.

When we arrived, the room wasn’t extra clean. It’s located on top of long-ish flight of stairs, so be mindful if you have lots of luggages and consider the altitude makes it extra hard. Ok the day of our check out, the staff seemed a bit annoyed when we had to take the luggages we had left there to leave our clean laundry. Also, if you’re going to the Rainbow Mountains, do not book through them because we didn’t really like it.

The hotel is in a great quiet location. They have teas available all day and evening. The room and bathroom were both large. The bed was super comfy with a great warm duvet and the bedroom and bathroom linens were soft. The breakfast was perfect with lots of options including fresh fruit. I really wanted to give it 10, but couldn't.

It was not super warm when we visited. They put the heat on only after 7pm and it goes off at 7am. We're Canadian, we don't mind the cold or sleeping when it's cool, but we got drenched on two days and had nowhere to warm up in the early afternoon, we had to crawl into the bed. I would have appreciated having heat until 8am.

The staff was great. Rooms were clean. I had accidentally booked a room for 3 people while we were 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). The staff was able to move us to a different room with 4 bed for an additional fee which was much appreciated. The hotel is located in a place where it requires us to climb about 55 steps or take a different path walking uphill and not accessible by car. However, there was couple of very friendly boys who work at the hotel and they carry our luggage up the steps and deliver to our rooms. Location - Although located within walking distance to the main plaza, the hotel itself is on a hill and requires about 55 steps and another 2 min walk to reach the main door. It is not accessible by car. This is something you need to be aware of if you are an older person. The city's altitude makes it harder to climb the steps.

Really well mantained rooms and property in the old city of Cusco Had a 2 nights stay in a room at the second floor. The room was very clean, spacious and looked very rustic and simple, but in a good way. I have appreciated the fact that they have cleaned our room after the first night. The breakfast was great. Various fruits and vegetables, pancakes, jams, natural juices, eggs etc. The communication was very easygoing and they also help us with taxi pickup and luggage deposit. Overall: it has exceeded our expectations! Thank you!

Pretty much everything. Really nice breakfast included, heaters in the rooms, clean and peaceful. Great atmosphere in the courtyard, free tea in the common area.

Can't really avoid it in Cusco but there are quite a few steps leading to the hotel. A bit tricky exiting the front door from the inside - need to press the door bell through the gate from the outside while being inside. Staff were ok, not overly cheerful.

The inner garden was very beautiful and well maintained. My room had big beautiful windows and the room itself was the most spacious I've stayed in Cusco (I tried 2 other hotels). I like how there was a heater because it could get cold at night. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I love how you don't hear the noisy streets. The breakfast was fresh and the chefs were very friendly!

You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to this hotel because it's not on a main street- I was okay with that but some people may not be if they have accessibility needs. The lighting itself was a bit dim so it was hard to tell if the room was indeed clean or not but what peeved me was that instead of installing hooks in the bathroom to hang the towels, they put the towels on the toilet. The water pressure for the shower was good but it takes a long time for the water to get hot. I was on the first floor and you can hear EVERYTHING from the second floor (e.g. people walking, pulling out a chair, sneezing) so if you're a light sleeper, try to get a room on the second floor.

We stayed at this hotel for a total of 8 nights. The location is great, it is set back from the street so there is no street noise, or disco noise. Very close to the Main Square plus the area itself is very arty. Beautiful shops. We found numerous great restaurants. The setting is very nice and calming with two nice courtyards. Hot water & tea / coffee available during the day. Breakfast was lovely with a beautiful dining area. Eggs cooked on demand. The staff at the hotel are wonderful. Loved it! We booked the Sacred Valley tour through the hotel, not only was the price excellent, but the tour ended up being once of the best we had during our stay. Highly recommend booking tours through the hotel. Be aware, there are 56 steps up from the main street to get to the hotel, it looks daunting, especially at Cusco elevation. But, the entire city of Cusco is steps and steep hills. The steps turned out not be a big deal. Hotel staff, or the taxi drivers were more than willing to help carry heavy luggage.

Thin walls, just like every other place in Cusco, so you may hear people in neighboring rooms.

The room was very clean and comfortable and the ambiance of the whole place was really nice. Breakfast was amazing; really tasty and with a lot of variety. The location is good since it's close to la Plaza de Armas and the San Blas neighborhood so it's easy to arrive and the surroundings are beautiful.

The only inconvenience for me was that taxis could only drop us a block away from there because the hostería is on a pedestrian street and the closest entrance to it is going about 2 floors upstairs. It wasn't too much, but those stairs were killer to climb with our luggage when we were first getting used to the altitude. Nevertheless, our stay there was completely worth it and we actually reserved for a couple extra nights when we came back to Cusco after visiting other cities.
