This property has it all - our apartment had a fully equipped kitchen, great views of the city and surrounding hills from the (albeit small) balcony. You can step outside and walk through the beautiful gardens, then sit and have a coffee under the fig trees with the two resident parrots. The central location is just a short walk from the Plaza De Armas and Cusco Cathedral, and of course many restaurants and shops. Breakfast is provided in the room - a very generous bowl of fruit, plus eggs and bread. My daughter and I used the citrus juicer to make fresh juice, and then fried up eggs and bread with a little Jamon Serrano for "Casa La Recoleta Sandwiches" Each night after a long day of exploring Cusco (be prepared to be out of breath at 11.000 feet) Sarah and I would come back to our apartment and kindle a roaring blaze in the fire place - we went through at least a cord of wood during our three night stay - but down in the bottom of the garden is a huge store of dry wood under cover, so we kept ourselves well stocked up on fuel ! Mark Wiens has a clip on this hotel - he stayed in the same apartment as us - well worth a look. Highly recommend this - not just somewhere to stay, but an experience...

Do not be put off by the blue door in the narrow street as it opens into a beautiful garden with little apartments. There was milk, cheese, fresh eggs, fruit and bread and cereal so you can prepare your own food. The owner was kind and friendly and it’s a very short walk to the beautiful centre

Ok I was in lower floor and people above were quite heavy footed. The parrots squawk a lot but they look so lovely and are only out during the daytime

The hotel is very close to downtown. It is actually close to everything!!! We walked everywhere (downtown, shopping, church, restaurants, etc,). The lofts are very clean. It seems to be that it is an old building so the floors have that sounds that old wooden houses have. I just love how neat and clean they have everything! The staff is absolutely amazing. Extremely kind and helpful. I also love that they leave enough breakfast to be prepared by ourselves the next day. Eggs, bread, butter, all kinds of fruit, tea, coffee, jam and cheese. There are skillets, oil, sugar and butter. The kitchen is equipped enough to prepare any meal you want. I absolutely loved preparing my fried eggs and toast every morning. There was always enough fruit to munch on during the day. They came everyday to clean the kitchen, bathroom, and the whole apartment. Very nice and kind ladies. They change everything everyday. Absolutely clean!!! You can’t go wrong with this place. We were very happy with this place. We actually went to Machu Picchu and came back to this place. There are sooooooo many places where to eat nearby. And I mean, soooooo many choices!!! Excellent place! Thank you for helping us have a wonderful Saturday in Cusco.

It would be nice if this place had either a laundry service in house or a connection with a laundry place so that we could just give it to them and then, not worry about anything.

This pls e is like a secret garden. When you arrive at the front gate you have no idea if the surprising beauty begins the door. Nuria has created a haven in this beautiful hidden gem. I stated for several days and adored having a generous breakfast in the gardens, reading my book, and writing. My cozy room was wonderful with room for my luggage, a table with fresh fruit and teas, and a super comfortable bed. The shower was a great size, hot, and with nice water pressure. Casona la Recoleta is located close to Plaza de Armas, only a 7-10 walk. I adored staying here. Nuria was helpful, kind, accommodating, and created such a lovely experience for me. I’ll definitely stay here when I come back to Cusco. I wanted to return but it was booked up, which is no surprise. It even better than the photos!

Loved everything!

The location is perfect, super close to Plaza de Armas and surrounded by restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. As soon as we entered the apartment we felt right at home. It was perfect for my 2 friends and me: spacious, clean and super comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and the shower had nice pressure and hot water. The kitchen had everything we needed, and starting the day with fresh fruits and bread was super nice. The property has a beautiful garden which feels super peaceful compared to the buzz of the city, and the staff were super helpful and friendly. Specially Nuria :) I can really recommend this place, and I'll be coming again for sure!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

We loved it (again)! It was our second stay in the Casona. For us everything was perfect. We stayed for over two weeks with our 4 year old son. He could explore the garden and play safely everywhere. We especially like the spacious and fully equipped kitchen with daily fresh fruit, bread, eggs and cheese and the fireplace that helped us stay warm in the evening. Our whole apartment was very cozy, we truly felt at home. The staff is exceptionally kind and helps you with anything you need. Everything is clean, well kept and works (there is hot water 24/7). I hope we can go back soon!

The place is so great for a family stay. Lots of room, friendly staff, and the location is perfect for walking. The courtyard has cats and birds that the kids loved. Everyone is super friendly. Provided breakfast daily was a nice touch. There's markets and restaurants that are right there that you can pick up snacks/water/food from. Great view of the city and mountains.

The street to get to the place is very narrow, so just be a little careful walking. Also, bigger vechicles like tour buses can't really fit down the street, so you'll have to meet them at the ends of the street for pick up.

The location was quiet and close to so much that you want to see. It was perfect for 3 of us. (Couple and a solo traveler.) It felt like a small apartment. I loved having a fireplace and if you need wood, just ask. They brought our breakfast items the night before- which I liked. There was no toaster but we used the panini type thing to heat our bread in the mornings. Two bathrooms was nice to have as well. They gave us fresh towels daily. I don't even have that at home!

No fault of the hotel but the street you walk down to get to the property for a block or so is super narrow. The sidewalk is as well. Toddlers or small kids- hold on to them! Once you get used to it, it's fine. The area is worth it!

I really enjoy the space for the ability to have our family together. My in laws met us (family of 4) here in Cusco and the apartment for 6 is perfect. It allows us to spend more time together, cook together etc. The hotel is located in a great location, quiet, peaceful and clean! Lots of restaurants, shops and a grocery store (Gatos) within a 5 min walk. The property is well maintained and it seems they are renovating some of the units closer to the front office, it’s low season for tourism, so well thought out. The staff members are kind, and also recommended a tour company for taxi services who have been great. We will have stayed 4 nights here by the end of our trip in this area. This is not your big Marriott or Hilton chain hotel. If you like to enjoy the local culture to include stays, stay here. We lived in Indonesia for several years and it really reminds me of places in Jakarta and some off the beaten path hotels in Bali, minus the heat of course! It’s a lovely property.
