We loved our stay at this hotel in Cusco! It is run by a very friendly family who are always there to help you with anything you need, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. We enjoyed a fresh breakfast every morning, and the staff was always available to help us. If you want a true local experience while visiting Cusco, this is the place to stay!

It is located a bit uphill, so it can feel tricky the first couple of days, but it’s nothing that can’t be handled with slow, steady walking (and it’s great acclimatization for Cusco!). Our room was quite cold at night, but the staff kindly provided a heater, which made it comfortable.

We very much enjoyed Hostal Qolqampata and returned again on our second trip to Cusco. The showers were very hot, good location near to main plaza, friendly staff, luggage storage, laundry services were good and we got upgraded for free on our second visit. The breakfast whilst not fancy, was very enjoyable and had good views of the city. A variety of hot drinks/tea available for free was nice as Cusco can be quite cold. Nearby restaurant Vikingo was very good and the closeby Saqsaywaman ruins is highly recommended to visit.

Not a downside but note that there are some very steep steps nearby to the hotel, but you can avoid these by walking down to the main plaza directly.

The view was spectacular, breakfast was simple but filling. We absolutely loved the location - was a little tucked away from the main square so it was quiet and felt safe yes easily walkable! It was a great value stay, would absolutely recommend staying here for those just looking for a place to stay if you aren’t going to spend much time in your room!

My only complaint is there was no heat, which maybe that is just how accommodations are in Cusco but it got pretty cold in the rooms so definitely bring and wear layers. Despite that, they provided so many blankets on the bed I was never cold sleeping!

Breakfast was simple but ok. Just the bread seemed to be cheap and bad quality. If you have to go out early in the morning before breakfast, the property do not support with a breakfast box. Consider this before you pay for breakfast .

The property charges in US Dollars and not Soles, The rate exchange is not accurate and not displayed at the front desk, So you get doubts if you have been charged properly and fairly. The property is just less than 10 minutes away form the main square going down the hill which is very convenient but it could be tiring to get back when you go up the hill.

We had a great experience at this hostel in Cusco. They were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to check in in the middle of the night after our flight was delayed. The room was comfortable and offered a nice view of the city, which made our stay even more enjoyable. It's just a 10-minute downhill walk to Plaza del Armas, making it super convenient to explore. They also held our luggage for us while we went on excursions, which was a huge help. Plus, the breakfast was made fresh on a lovely terrace, adding a nice touch to our mornings. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting!

One thing I would appreciate is if they had oxygen tanks available for guests experiencing altitude sickness, though they did provide coca leaves and tea, which helped.

We stayed in the family ran hostel for 4 nights and we couldn’t wish for better place to stay. The hosts were amazing, helpful and friendly. They were Very attentive from the first minute of our stay, trying to accommodate all our requests. They sorted out for us the laundry and got us a bery cheap taxi to the bus station. As well we could leave our luggage there after checking out. Room was very clean. During the nights it can get a bit cold but there are additional blankets provided. Very good breakfast and the great thing is that there is available tea 24 h.

Friendly and extremely helpful owner and family. can also help arrange tours and bustickets. The location is excellent - 10 min. walk from the main Plaza in a quiet area. Good practice for incatrail uphill :-) Good breakfast with eggs and fresh orange juice. Hot water and Coca tea throughout the day. Bath with hot water. Possibility of luggage storage during Inca trail.

The rooms are cold - no heater

- very comfortable, big bed with several warm blankets + 1 extra bed: perfect!!! - spacious room and bathroom - very friendly staff! - nice and comfy common area with terrace and great view! - very nice view to the city center from the room - good access from street to get in or out a taxi - location is quiet and yet just a couple of min walking to the city centre - the friendly man at the reception organized us a taxi to the airport

- bathroom was a bit smelly - I got an allergic reaction and had to sneeze and a running nose while I was in the room. - the window was a bit difficult to open due to the curtain rod which is blocking the window - the wall to the bathroom needs a renovation - payment couldnt be done through credit card in advance

Pleasant stay close to the city centre. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check out one hour later. The view from the hotel is incredible

We had some issues with flush in the bathroom. Also, toiletries (shampoo/shower gel) were not provided. For the breakfast, it would be great to have some more diversity like fruit or vegetables. Hotel is located uphill from the city centre which might be challenging for walking up at the altitude

The view was wonderful! We were amazed since we arrived to the hostel. We got two rooms on the top floor. One of the rooms had the amazing view of the whole city. The hostel is ran by a family, and the owner is super friendly. He helped several times with transportation. He picked up us at the airport which was very convenient. He helped us find a restaurant very local, owned by another family and not on the main spots of tourists. We had a small accident in one of the rooms, where my mother felt and broke a glass of a furniture. We were afraid that it would cost us a lot for the accident but the owner was very concerned and fair on the costs. Either families or backpackers would enjoy the hostel. There was another family staying at the same time. And a few backpackers. All of the guests were also very friendly. We really enjoyed the accommodations and hope to get back there one day again. For any friends that would go to Cusco, we would recommend this place.

One of the shower rooms had a smell if the shower place was dry. I guess it came from the shower drain. We only notice on the second night. But after shower the smell was gone. The water pressure was unstable. The lady explained that they were having some water problems on the rooms below so sometimes they needed to switch if off. But once we talked to her, she would just leave it open so we could shower.
