We had an exquisite stay in Villa Formosa! The room is very spacious, as the bathroom and the bed. The bedding is also super confortable! There is also a nice area outside the room to chill which is very lovely! Food was great as you can expect from an Italian-owned hotel. We had a very tasty risotto with local shrimps that we would highly recommend. The staff was very welcoming and helpful! The owners had always arranged us tricycles when we needed. It was very nice to chat with them. Everyone is welcoming but also respect your intimacy. The owners also helped us to book some tours to discover the nature jewels that Bohol has to offer! They pick you up from the Villa so it is super convenient! The location is perfect! It is a very calm area, which is great to relax. There is one beautiful white-sand beach down the road (100 pesos fee to enter). You can find a nice place where they grill fresh fishes. On the other side you can find a tiny restaurant with local food which was great with a fun atmosphere. Apart from that, the Villa is not far from Alona which has everything to offer, nice restaurants, shops and so on. We would recommend to go to Ramede for massage. They are targeting Korean clients, so that was quite interesting (and Korean love good service so that was great). They offer massages in a deep quiet atmosphere which was great. You can find also other massage place everywhere on the island, but we have very much enjoy this one. The pristine beaches are beautiful everywhere, the most difficult part is to choose where you want to go. Tricycles are very convenient to transport you from one place to another and we never had any issues to explain where we were staying. They all knew Villa Formosa. Overall, if you have European standards and are looking for a place in Panglao, this is a great place to enjoy your stay!
Nothing to say.

Friendly staff and owner. Surrounded by nature. Spacious room. Delicious breakfast. Waking distance to Dumaluan beach - requires 100 pesos resort fee which is pretty cheap. We ended up purchasing a 1200 pesos day pass at Bohol beach club that includes lunch, beach chairs, towels, and access to their pool and restrooms.
Location - this was our first time in Panglao and we realized that it would’ve been nice to have stayed near Alona beach. We had to pay 400pesos round trip for tricab or tuktuk every time that we wanted to go to Alona as most of the restaurants and shops are there.

We had a perfect stay! The room is even nicer than in the pictures, the property has a beautiful calm vibe to it, staff is great and friendly and it was just a few minutes walking to the best beach at the island. Also, it was immaculately clean, which we really appreciate!! It’s not too close to the city center, where you can find the restaurants, but that was not a problem for us, since it was a short ride with the scooter, which was also rented through the hotel for a very fair price
Though it wasn’t a big deal for us, would be nice if the breakfast could be served until later. We usually eat a bit later and the breakfast was served until 9:30, so we ended up going for brunch everyday at the city center instead.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay in the huge 2-bedroom villa. The beds were comfy and always clean. All the staff were amazing, especially the two girls at reception who were so lovely and provided exceptional service. Anita, the owner, was incredibly helpful. Despite giving her late notice to book our early morning tour for the next day, she managed to arrange everything for us. They serve authentic Italian dishes, as her husband is from Italy, and they were soooo nice! Breakfast was great too. The entire property has a lovely ambiance, big swimming pool—very quiet and away from the busy Alona streets, but not too far. Just a short tuktuk ride for 200 PHP each way. Villa Formosa is a fantastic place to stay in Bohol. We will definitely come back and highly recommend it. Thank you!

Absolutely a beautiful place. The staff are constantly there for you, but very polite and humble. The grounds are kept immaculate. There is always at least one person, if not two, always picking up every leaf, cleaning the pool, and sweeping the sidewalks. The Cottages are beautiful hardwood. The floors, trim, and doors. My cottage had a large porch with a hanging chair and sitting area. Large windows that make you feel like you're outside in nature. The windows are mirrored, you can see out, but no one can see in. Even the birds are entertaining, they think their reflection is another bird. Breakfast was included in my price. I highly recommend all the choices. Lunch and dinner are also picture perfect, delicious, and very reasonable. I definitely recommend spending your day sightseeing, but eat often at the resort. The kitchen and dining are open-air. So you can't escape the wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen. There are only a few cottages/rooms, so you feel like you're the only guest.
Leaving this paradise!

The hotel itself was spotless and well-maintained, with the staff being incredibly kind and accommodating. Free drinking water was available throughout our stay, and the room was spacious and immaculate. The shower was fantastic, and the pool area was also lovely. On our last day, we had lunch at the hotel—since the owner is Italian, a carbonara was a must before leaving! I was so impressed by the care and dedication they put into everything. Honestly, these people are among the kindest I’ve ever met. Make sure to visit the Bohol Beach Club while you’re here—it’s just a 10-minute walk away and easily the best beach ever, even on a rainy day. The owner was always just a message away and even helped us find a dentist for my husband. They also did our laundry, and it smelled amazing afterward. Alona Beach is only a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride away (200 pesos each way), and at night, the atmosphere is incredible. To fully appreciate the area, it’s best to go before sunset. However, it’s packed with tourists, which naturally brings an endless stream of sellers offering massages, souvenirs, and everything in between. If I had to do it again, I’d still book Villa Formosa. It’s close enough to Alona Beach to enjoy the vibe without dealing with all the hassle. We also noticed that the food quality around Alona Beach is lower, and the prices are much higher compared to this area.
If I had to be picky, I’d say the Wi-Fi wasn’t always great, especially after 8 PM, when it was almost non-existent. But to be fair, this seems to be an issue everywhere in the Philippines. Another thing we didn’t love was that the last order for food had to be placed by 7PM, so the restaurant was practically closed in the evening, leaving the hotel feeling a bit deserted. We had initially planned to have dinner there but didn’t bother since it closed so early. On the bright side, there’s an amazing restaurant less than a 10-minute walk away called The French Bubble, they serve one of the best seafood risottos and tuna tartares I’ve ever had. Also, if you need a tuk-tuk, make sure to book it before 7 PM as well. Lastly, a small welcome drink would have been a nice touch.

Everything was amazing. The private villas a huge, clean, very nice bathrooms, the front porch is also nice to chill. Breakfast is to order and at first may seem limited but the staff are happy to accommodate and they do their utmost to give you what you want. The small restaurant is available for lunch and dinner, the pool is cleaned daily and also private. The location is a 10-15min walk to two beaches behind the villa and a 10min tuk tuk to Alona Beach which is the hub. There is a 7/11 just a 5min walk away for any other necessities, making the location close enough for all the action but far enough to have peaceful nights.

— Everything, where do I start?: — Our room (Room 1) was IMPECCABLY CLEAN! Every surface has been dusted including closets, bed frame, and flooring. — The staff and owners whom happy hub and I met; (Ate) Anna, (Ate) Jen, (Kuya) Kim, Mr. Salvatore and his lovely wife are very hospitable, thoughtful, and accommodating! 1st night, the electricity was out because a vehicle hit a light post which affected the electricity for the entire neighbourhood. We came from the beach and were unable to shower, so Jen and other staff loaned us a candle 🕯️ and took time to pump water in a pail 🪣 and deliver it to our bathroom. Salvatore took time to let us know about the blackout and get to know his guests. We enjoyed bantering with him and getting to know him a bit in the process. The staff (Anna) also let us drop off our luggage on our first day as we arrived earlier than the 2pm check-in time. We appreciate everyone and wish them all success! — The free breakfast we didn’t even know until the last day was free! Lol 😂

Family like atmosphere, honest and dilligent staff, good size pool, comfy beds and very good kitchen.
Access to near by beach is blocked by some local touts who demand money for by pass access. Breakfast is a bit of repetetive if you stay 4 days like us.

Front of house staff/chef could not have been nicer or more helpful, very quiet location, aside from the usual dawn chorus of Cockerells, which is unavoidable anywhere here ! Less than a 5 minute walk to dumaluan beach, which is stunning and much less crowded than allona.about 10min tuk tuk to the main hub of nightlife and restaurants! Room was big ,as was the bathroom and balcony . everything was spotlessly clean , the shower was better than most we've encountered in the philippines! The car and driver they organised for us to go to chocolate hills, tasier sanctuary and zipline was very comfortable and in good condition! The hotel was Extremely good value!
