We have been visiting Quinta Do Mel on and off for a few years, usually just for the amazing food they serve. Last year we thought we would treat ourselves this year and stay for a few days. We booked the 2 bedroomed apartment. We were definitely not disappointed. Beautiful countryside setting, amazing food and really helpful and friendly staff. It is walking distance to local restaurants but it is a good 20minute walk. It is a bit more costly(maybe) than other places but the quality and location matches the price and I would highly recommend it for a special occasion or simply to get away from the usual touristy places. Loved it and hope to get back in the near future

I honestly can't think of anything! Perhaps think about hiring a car as it can be a bit far to walk to and from if you struggle to walk. Having said that we got taxi's and the local Uber so not a hassle

Fabulous and quiet location with wonderful views. We have eaten here several times over the last few years and would highly recommend the restaurant, however this is the first time we have stayed. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional throughout. Breakfast was fabulous (as was dinner!). If you are looking to relax and unwind in a peaceful setting, then this is the place! Worth noting that you will need a car (or taxi/uber) to get here and access local shops etc.

That we hadn't booked for longer!

Room lovely, staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was fantastic. Nice pool if somewhat chilly but was very revitalising. Evening meal varied menu, good quality produce.

No safe in the room. Wardrobe small not enough hangers but on request more given. On Saturday the dining area closed due to a private function therefore customers relegated to an area by the pool. We saw the dj putting up his equipment and thought we had entertainment that night but only by asking what was going on told about the private party and where the hotel quests would be eating. Hotel quests should have been informed prior to this, the full moon bbq was advertised becos they can make money from this making us feel we were not as important! Guests are the hotels bread and butter@ But in saying this the staff made sure we were well looked after and food was great as usual. We also had the benefit of enjoying the dj which was nice. Just a thought keep guests informed please

I liked the thriving for high standards in each single way. The property has been refurbished to excellent specs, still respecting the character of a Quinta. The staff is very efficient, attentive and take proud in doing their job, making honour to hospitality. Elvis stood out for his professionalism, passion for the rural tourism and quality, as well Katarina for her kindness and friendliness at breakfast. The breakfast is comfortably allowed in a 4 hours span, it’s delicious and changes every morning, with plenty of freshly squeezed orange juice. Most of the ingredients are produced locally. We stayed for dinner the first couple of nights and regretted to have missed the last night as the quality of food, service and wine cannot easily be matched. The location is perfect for walkers: there is a “Parque Ambiental” just following a little trail from the Quinta with two bird watching spots, and it’s easy to reach the beaches and walk the trails on the hills. Moreover, we have been kindly invited to visit the other Quinta on the hills. It was a superb locations for hiking, with a wide choice of private trails of different length. We enjoyed the one that took us to the twin lakes, it was a remarkable stroll in the glory of late spring!

There is nothing we didn’t like.

Enjoyed the peace and the rural setting. Beautiful lavender even in January. Everything really clean . Food was delicious. Breakfast was nicely presented and delicious home baked cakes/scones etc Very polite service. So convenient having an on site restaurant . 2 excellent evening meals- loved the cod & prawn risotto. Ground floor room appreciated to accommodate disability . Too cool to use the pool but looked well maintained

The rooms are quite dark with one small window . Furniture also dark though attractive to many I’m sure. Only BBC world news on the cable tv -not much choice for English speakers Dining room was very cool in the evenings but staff turned heating up when we asked Bit of confusion regarding house wine but we were given a complimentary glass the following evening

The location is great. very quiet and you can go out for a walk around the hotel, the Breakfast was fresh and great, and the staff was amazing- Sofia and Rubeng were lovely, we stayed there for 2 nights and we enjoyed every moment :) unfortunately, it wasn't too hot for us to swim in the pool, but we enjoyed the garden... the room we had (10) was located on the second floor, it was tranquil and had a nice balcony, the room was huge and didn't have any special facilities, it was perfect - super simple and clean, and the smell of nature is all over, I loved it !!!

I can't think of something I didn't like.

Awesome Location! An Elegant Retreat feeling, away from the crowd and yet just 5 min away from the beach! Very Generous Breakfast! You just need to choose your table and let the Amazing Staff Serve You, delicious locally produced products or made with Love at the Farm. In my humble opinion the Staff are the Stars of Quinta do Mel with their Top Customer Attention and Service!

The Main Entrance and Welcoming Design Concept is confusing! You are welcomed from the Restaurant terrace entrance, and the guests have to pass through the tables area to reach the check in point. We had the feeling that we were entering a restaurant that had some nice rooms instead of entering an Hotel that has a lovely Restaurant! We would say it's a bit overpriced for the overall experience, specially when the room had lack of natural ventilation (without having to open the windows and risk being bitten by mosquitos). There were issues with the air conditioning not working also. Once again the Staff's Amazing Service compensated the Design, Functionality and General Experience.

Wonderful for a peaceful stay and within a 15 min walk of the beach and a short car ride to other areas. I have mobility issues and managed fine with walking to and from the beach. You intiailly enter the hotel via the restaurant and at checkin you'll be given access to a separate entrance. Restaurant has an extensive menu. Wonderful produce from the farm itself used including lamb, vegetables, jams, herbs, tea. I had an excellent orange and mint tea with some honey cake :) I stayed 4 nights in Room 3. The room was fairly small but fine for one person. Lovely interior and furniture. Stone floors. Window shutters make the room pitch black at night. Very comfortable bed. Air conditioning, kettle, water, organic shower gel/handwash in the bathroom. Separate towels for the pool. Breakfast was a delightful highlight - the fresh orange juice is delicious! Fruit, museli, pastries, jams, cheese, ham, eggs, bread. All delicious. You can see why many non-hotel guests come here just for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Lovely grounds including seating so you can take in the farm, flora. Small pool with sun loungers is a lovely spot to relax during the day. There's a separate tv room too. The staff here were very attentive and although often busy, they were happy to help, good natured and hard working. I very much hope to visit again and in the meantime hope to order some of the delicious jams and produce online. P.s. in case you don't have a car like me, travelling around is very easy. I'd walk to the beach and for when I visited other places I took an Uber. E.g. Hotel to Albufeira: 9.5 euros Hotel to Praia Santa Eulália: 6.2 euros Hotel to Olhos de Agua: 3.8 euros

There were a few details about the room which could elevate it and I informed the hotel about these directly.

I loved the location and the charm of this place. The pool was wonderful. This is a quaint, farm to table quieter location. It was perfect for what we were looking for. We were a family of 5, however the family rooms had already been booked so we got 2 separate rooms and they added a bed to one of the rooms for us. The staff were wonderful. It’s really a good value for the price.

The beds could have been a little softer, and because of the farm and the restaurant was all open to the outside there were flies around while we were eating. Also the rooms were a little dark, (not a lot of lighting).

Amazing breakfast - juice, tea/coffee, yoghurt, fresh fruit, granola, cooked meats and cheese, pastries and home-made jams and pickles. The quality and quantity was fantastic! Location really good, in the countryside but only 10 minutes walk to shops and bars. Love it 🩷
