Iv been going for 25 years. There used to be an excellent games room that adults could also use for ping pong and pin ball but it has all been taken away. Now its a little kiddies games room with screaming children. Sad, because after dinner us adults loved the games room playing pin ball and table tennis. There IS a table tennis unit but its outside. Table tennis outside does NOT work for reasons that are obvious.

Beautiful location with the famous Pine Cliffs 9 hole golf course on site. We stayed in the hotel and had a Deluxe ocean view room which was great. I loved the sunbeds under the pine trees, the beach towel cards, Mare beach restaurant and the champagne bar overlooking the cliffs. We played golf every day and enjoyed the course and the facilities of the clubhouse.

There wasn't an easy option just to get something like a basic sandwich and crisps to have down at the beach or by the pool (I travelled with my 14 year old son who is always hungry!). There were very few staff manning the sunbed area for drinks service. Worth mentioning the walk to the beach is down steps and a long boardwalk - coming back up takes some effort and not suitable for those with mobility issues. Obviously the resort shops are expensive - worth popping out the resort to the supermarket which is opposite the main entrance for basics.

Restaurants were mostly closed or challenging to get into, watch out for Sundays and Mondays because so much is closed The better restaurants are the lunch options which are closed during the evening, such a missed opportunity for the Mare restaurant to be closed during the day

Breakfast is exceptional, the choices were endless. The room was very pretty and the bed was very comfortable. The walk to the ocean, the ease of borrowing towels and the easy access to the bar all made for an effortless day at the beach. The staff was kind enough to acknowledge our honeymoon with a bottle of wine and some chocolate-covered strawberries; definitely made us feel special.

The 'early-bird' continental breakfast that was meant to be available for people with early flights was about 30 minutes late being set up. Our toilet leaked, and there was a repetitive noise from the elevator or some other mechanics. Both sets of noises kept us awake both nights.

Facilities were excellent : very clean, sports equipment in decent condition and very helpful staff. Some really hilarious waiting staff and the food was outstanding- would definitely go back.

The room cleaners weren’t great at replacing glasses that had been used but they did a great job at cleaning the room and were unobtrusive. No major issues at all.

Great service from start to finish. Tomas did a great job checking us in, giving recommendations and explaining all the facilities - very friendly staff all round. Very nice room and beautiful and peaceful grounds and facilities, especially the beach. Really enjoyed our breakfasts. Great location with a number of local restaurants to choose from within close walking proximity to the resort.

As mentioned in other reviews, the restaurants within the resort appeared unreasonably expensive for the type of food, which put us off from eating regularly at the resort, although there were some good local options nearby. The only other downside during our stay was the renovations being made to the cliff side bar which slightly spoilt the view and created some noise (fairly minimal) by one of the pools.

Pine Cliffs is a centrally located Marriot Luxury resort in the Algarve about halfway between Lagos and Tavira making it a strategic jumping point for sightseeing along the Algarve. There are shuttles to get around the resort as it is quite large, but there is also plenty of parking for resort guests. The staff is super friendly, courteous and helpful. The Resort is gorgeous with lush, well manicured gardens throughout, beautiful Mediterranean architecture and excellent amenities for all ages. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable. We had an ocean view room with a private balcony and incredible views. It was well worth the splurge! The free buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a wide assortment of offerings. It was served at several of the restaurants so there was almost no wait. There are about 4-5 different restaurants within the resort, but you have to check time frames for lunch and dinner options as they differ for each restaurant. There is also a small grocery store and a very good restaurant right outside the resort. Unfortunately, we were not there long enough to enjoy the gym or the spa, but they did look inviting. There are several outdoor pools and 1 large indoor pool. For those who like the ocean, but not the sun there is a large grassy area between the hotel and the cliffs with chaise lounges under a canopy of trees. The beach also has first come first serve beach chairs and umbrellas and is accessed via steps or elevator. There is a resort restaurant on the beach. As is evident, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and I cannot say enough good things about it. I highly recommend it.

Hotel entrance gets a little congested with all the shuttles, tourist vans and buses. You may need to cut out some of the parking spaces from around the entrance area to relieve driving congestion.

Very nice hotel. I had a beautiful room. Very friendly staff. Plenty of parking, but a bit difficult to find from highway (be sure to consult directions beforehand). Great little golf course. Very nice beach, especially for relaxing and walking on the sand. Great restaurants, including the Piri Piri. SPA with massage by Diana was great. I will be back one day.

I recommend setting up a separate adults-only area for breakfast with enough tables and a respective pool and beach area as well.
