Great location. Lots of nice restaurants in Calheta. Room was lovely and the buffet breakfast was delicious. Nice little touches with treats in our room.

Really disappointed to see that the sunbeds around the pool you had to pre-book and they were €35 each!! Same with the beds at the beach. Just disappointed as when you spend a lot of money to stay at a 5 star hotel you dont anticipate having to pay extra for things that look like they are part of the hotel.

Excellent hotel in a very good location, with fantastic views and a lovely garden on the rooftop. The infinity pool looked great but unfortunately we couldn't use it because it was too cold during our visit.The hotel has few restaurants, each one has a different menu and we loved them all. Very good and varied breakfast. The service of the staff was extraordinary!

The only thing which we feel that can be improved is the extra beds that were provided for our kids, which were not so comfortable.

Our room had an amazing ocean view, the facilities were spotless clean. The staff were professional and welcoming. Breakfast was exceptional, a lot of choices, everything was tasty and fresh. Good location to go to the beach on foot, rooftop swimming pool was also very nice.

Very weird service system where you have to pay extra for the smallest thing, made us feel like the hotel wanted to "sort" their clients. They operate like a low-cost airline where you have to pay extra for obvious things. Zero intimacy in bathroom/toilet facilities : you have an almost transparent glass door which doesn't isolate any sound and you can perfectly see the person taking their shower right next to your bed. This can get really uncomfortable if you are not a couple.

Great location; much quieter than Funchal with West Island attractions closer. Restaurants are expensive but great food.

We had all our meals at the hotel and had only one friendly waitress.

Just extraordinary - we loved everything about our stay. Kindness of the staffs and the attentiveness to the details are just top. They are ready to take extra mile making you feel home. We stayed in ocean view room and we enjoyed the view from the balcony. The rooms, facility and amenities in the rooms are just amazing. We loved both infinity and indoor pools and the view from infinity pool is breathtaking. Many hot, cold & vegan options at the breakfast was great. So overall great service, great staffs , great views and great facilities. We felt like home - definitely recommended

Overall it was good but as we started out Madeira trip at Savoy palace, we had high expectation. The savoy palace has much higher standards, and it cost only 10% more.

It was nice but for the money we paid we expected more! No free parking , breakfast area is crowded and you have to find yourself a table, staff is not so welcoming, lot of them don’t know English. The pool was not ready on time. Few “small” things that do the difference.

Exceptional hotel. Service 10/10. Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I arranged balloons and a cake for my partners birthday and the hotel provided a free sparking wine. Staff were very attentive. We booked treatment at the spa and were able to use the facilities which were great.

Slightly far out but meant we could explore west of Madeira without having to travel from Funchal. Parking not included and €11 a day.

The ocean room was beautiful. The breakfast was extensive. The restaurants had delicious food. We ate lunch and dinner at the pool, and lunch at the beach. The views were exceptional. Loved swimming in the ocean at the beach.

I wish the happy hour was at all of the bars, and not just the one bar.

The location of the hotel and the view from the pool is stunning. I also enjoyed the design efforts in the lobby and common space areas. There are enough opportunities to enjoy food and drink in the hotel. The best experience was the Bar on the roof, which is especially recommended if you want to enjoy the sunset with a nice cocktail. The hotel has a beach and a few outdoor pools where you can swim and relax.

Some of the furniture in the room was worn, which did not fit into a 5-star hotel quality, but there was more that bothered me. I think it has a negative message: when you, as a guest, feel at every step in the hotel, if you do not pay extra besides the 5-star price, you can not 'have the premium experience'. It was impossible to lay beside the pool on sunbeds, only if you paid an extra fee, the "premium experience." And they faced this strange opportunity everywhere, from the check-in desk to the elevators. I felt like a second-grade guest because I was not paying the extra/premium, which is a bit weird when you go to rest and think previously that you found the best opportunity to enjoy luxury in a 5-star hotel. It's at least not polite.

If you want a perfect experience in Madeira, the Saccharum hotel is by far the best choice you can make. Located approximately 35 km from Funchal, in Calheta, it offers an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean and services worthy of its 5 stars. The room is very large, modern, with an enormous and very comfortable bed, and the balcony offers a superb view of the ocean. The entire hotel staff was very nice and professional. We appreciated the fact that our room was arranged twice every day, our towels were changed, and Lucy, the person who took care of our room, left us a small sweet gift on the bed every night. The breakfast is worthy of a 5-star hotel, extremely varied and with very good quality products. If we return to Madeira, Saccharum will definitely be our first choice! I warmly recommend this hotel!
