Our two bedroom apartment was located in the historical center with easy access by foot to the main sites such as the famous Coimbra university and the medieval Cathedral. The apartment was on the top floor of an old building but was beautifully renovated. It was charming as it was an attic type of apartment with a smart distribution of the spaces and a modern kitchen and bathroom. The hotel staff was very kind and friendly and helped us take the luggage up to out our apartment.

The only surprise was that there was not an elevator to get to the fifth floor which meant that a good level of fitness was needed to climb the stairs. It would be convenient if Booking.com displayed in which floor the apartment is located, and advice if there's not an elevator.

The location of this apartment was perfect. Right off the main plaza and close to walk to the University, Fado Central, shopping or restaurants. The hotel staff that checked us in ( Oslo Hotel) were very informative. Parking was close by and taking our luggage to the apartment was not even 5 mins to walk. The apartment was very clean, quiet and comfortable. And well equipped.

We required a 2 bedroom apartment so ours was in the 5th floor. This was not a problem for us as we travel light and stairs are not a concern. However, they clearly mention that it is a climb and also remind you of it at check it. So be aware in the event that you have trouble with stairs.

Location was excellent in the middle of the city center. The apartment is clean, modern and nicely decorated. The lady at the entrance is very nice and the check in staff as well. The parking at the hotel is also a good perk. - the check in and parking is done at the Hotel Oslo ( 350m away)

The shower on the second bathroom did not work well even after we called the receptionist from the hotel- he tried to fix it but didn’t work so all 5 of us had to use the en suite shower which was a bit inconvenient. There are 4 floors of white high steps to climb at the building- if you come with heavy suitcases or mobility issues be prepared. I was aware so not complaining- just mentioning it.

Very large apartment with great kitchen, shower, comfy bed. Excellent location, overlooking the pedestrian street. We were treated to the sounds of serenading by the students right from the apartment. Fully equipped with tea, coffee pods, dish tabs and laundry tabs. Helpful staff - would provide daily housekeeping if you wanted it. Heat/AC unit worked well. Others have complained that it is an uphill walk on cobblestones from check in and then stairs to your floor. I can’t understand why anyone traveling in Europe thinks there will be paved sidewalks and elevators and arrives with a giant wheelie suitcase. We travel with a backpack. Zero problems with location

No fault of the hotel but we had someone in the apartment above that paced around in cement shoes (I think). I have never had anyone that loud in allot of travelling. Tread lightly in these apartments- your fellow travellers will thank you.

The location. It is a few steps from the main pedestrian street in Coimbra. The Cathedral St. Cruz is only 5 minutes away. There is easy access to all main streets and shops and restaurants. The staff was outstanding. We inadvertently did not follow the clear directions sent by the host which caused our own confusion at check-in. The Hotel Oslo staff, especially a young lady were fabulously helpful in helping us with parking and moving our bags. I would go back just because of the great service provided by her and others.

My wife is mobility impaired and she had some difficulty navigating the stairs to our unit. That is our fault, not the hotel. Our only minor compliant is that the unit was advertised as a two bedroom, which it was, however, the second bedroom was small.

Excellent location close to the heart of the old city. We checked in at the Oslo Hotel and someone helped us take the luggage to the apartment, which was great. Excellent secure parking. The apartment was cosy, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped and offered everything you need. Double windows helped keep the apartment warm (we stayed in January) and quiet, which was great. If we come back to Coimbra, we would stay there again!

Just a note that there are stairs to reach the apartment (no elevator) but that's normal for a house in the city centre.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this apartment! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure everything was perfect. The apartment itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable—a true home away from home. The location couldn’t have been better, with everything we needed just a short walk away, making it the perfect base to explore the area. We were genuinely impressed with the attention to detail and exceptional service. We can’t recommend this place enough and would love to return in the future!

We loved everything. If you come with a lot of luggage you might find the walk to the apartment a little tiring but it is worth it!

Apartment is tastefully furnished, everything is new and clean. Spacious bedrooms, excellent areas to spend time together in a large group (patio and dining room). Location in the city center, walking distance to all of the main sites. Delicious breakfast delivered to the apartment!

The apartment cooperates with a hotel so it is a small inconvenience that you need to check in the hotel reception, leave a car in nearby garage and then walk 200m to the apartment. In addition you need to keep an eye on paper card for garage, without it hotel staff have no other ways to let you out.

Beautiful apartment. Very cool location in a narrow street with a romantic patio. Spacious rooms, all very updated and with nice design. Fantastic light and sound insulation for sleep.

No complaints! Just beware of a slightly complicated / time consuming process to check in at Hotel Oslo a ~8 min walk away. The staff is great, but the walk to the apartment is uphill with a lot of stairs which could be challenging with luggage. If you’re driving, the hotel provides you with a spot in a parking garage but it’s really hard to get in and out (typical Europe though) and just prolongs the check in process further.

Location is good in the heart of the old town. We were met at Hotel Oslo and taken the 5 min walk to the Apartment. Good to have free parking (also 5 mins away). Very clean and serviced every day. As someone else said there is a very good busker outside most days but if you don't like it, there are double windows which provide good sound proofing. Very good wifi. 5 minutes walk from a local Spa type supermarket (we were there for a week so did cook for ourselves). Worth noting the weather was hot but the apartment kept cool without the need for the air con. (which it does have).

When I booked I did think the apartment had outside space. I hadn't realised there are multiple apartments (I think 6) and the one on the 3rd floor in particular does have a fantastic garden and outside space. I was a bit wowed by all the pictures and didn't connect the dots that the one bed apartment didn't have the outside space. The concierge did say she would tell us if it was unoccupied and we could access the outdoors but it was a busy time of year! If this is important to you, just check the actual photos for that specific apartment. I did think the apartments were expensive BUT, it was light, airy, spacious and central. A lot of what I had looked at previously were dark, cramped and whilst cheaper - it's proof that you get what you pay for.
