For the first time in my life , I have found a hotel where there was nothing that I didn’t like about this hotel. We were a family of 5 with 3 rooms. From the moment we arrived the quality of service was first class. How often I have been frustrated checking in at the reception; at this hotel it was a dream ! Organised, professional, 5 separate checking in tables, professional and well organised staff, fast and effective. Bedrooms were large and well air conditioned, cleaned perfectly every day. The overall hotel staff were all super helpful. Breakfast buffet was the best I have eaten ; quality of choice and the quality of the food. The large expanding residence with 5 pools and plenty of space to find quiet locations; sun loungers a plenty and none of that crazy towels on chairs at 6am routine ( as is often the case in other hotels ). Yep! Congratulations to the hotel management for creating a TRUE 5 star experience.

Nothing !! I cannot remember ever saying this, but everything was perfect !

If there is anything called perfection, this resort wins it all. From the service to the people, food, room, and all the facilities just blew my mind. I stayed there for 2 days only but it won my heart. I was welcome with shampagne and snacks. Every staff was super kind and friendly they all made me feel like a princess. The food was extremely tasty. And the view from the hotel is like you landed in paradise!

I didn't like that I did not have enough off days to spend there.

Very good hotel and facilities, very attentive, helpful and friendly staff, big rooms, very nice and taken care of gardens, access to private beach, several swimming pools so that even during high season you can find a spot to enjoy the sun/water. I will defintely recommend/come back. :)

Not to many options at breakfast for vegetarians/lactose free persons. You actually need to ask every morning for gluten free bread. For a 5 star hotel there could be more diversity and a dedicated breakfast section for people with dietary restrictions (so they can actually be able to choose from).

There is only 1 heated pool out of the 6 they have. With that in mind, you’d think they had one of the bigger pools as heated. The only one was a small child’s pool. The hotel restaurants are very expensive. The service on our last night was poor and the food not great. The only option for a vegetarian was about 1kg of rice. The 2nd vegetarian option offered was fish. They have very funny rules in the gym/spa that you can only use a locker if you have a treatment booked. One morning I was the only person in there and still wasn’t allowed a locker. Not their fault but the local town isn’t what we hoped to see of Portugal there’s some gems of restaurants but you have to look hard.

We were put in one of the hotel’s newly refurbished suites and it was stunning. The decor was absolutely perfect and a huge upgrade on the rooms I have stayed in at Vilalara previously. It seems that the owners have made a significant effort to upgrade the property versus our last visit two years ago. The new interior at the Koala Club was beautiful and my two kids loved it. The outdoor furniture / plants on the deck at the pool next to the main restaurant were new and looked wonderful. Even the altered arrangement of the sun loungers down at the beach were a plus (offered a great view of the afternoon sunsets along the cliffs).

We usually only stay at 5 Star hotels for our holidays and everything at the Vilalara Resort met its 5 star rating. The breakfast was exceptional - with lots of variety and choice. The staff was very pleasant and helpful at all times and had a smile each time. Thanks to the whole Breakfast Team. The Pools and general facilities at the resort were also fantastic. We spent a great deal of time at the pool side - which was very peaceful and relaxing. Rakesh the pool side attendant was brilliant - always helpful with a smile each time. We also visited the Spa / Health / Gym - which were again excellent - very clean / comfortable / lovely staff. The beach is nearby was a lovely and a great place to visit at the end of each day to unwind further. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and attended to daily. The hotel grounds were kept well - with beautiful gardens filled with exotic plants everywhere. Absolutely wonderful and very pleasing as you walked about. We would like to especially mention the Hotel Reception team led by Pedro Fonseca - they were absolutely brilliant, always very helpful with great suggestions to local restaurants / sites to visit and real credit to the hotel - which is why we will recommend it to all our friends and perhaps book again for next year - thankyou everyone. Overall - we would say particularly thanks to ALL the staff at the Vilalara Resort - they are all professional, helpful and always happy to meet and greet - our congrats to the leadership team.

The staff here were exceptional - accommodated everything we asked for. Breakfast was an excellent buffet, service was attentive and friendly. The view from the terrace was very special and because of the time of year (first week of November) the low number of guests meant it was easy to get some quiet space. The grounds are beautifully kept and a real joy to walk around.

The trattoria restaurant closed on the 1st November which meant there was only one restaurant for lunch and dinner for us without using the gastronomic restaurant and without going out of the hotel. The menu was unchanged throughout the week and as the week progressed a few more items were unavailable due to the hotel closing at the end of the second week of November. A few lighter dishes would have been great - goats cheese salad or meze/tapas style helpings for those with smaller appetites. The food was good but just a bit more variety for those who wanted to relax at the hotel would have been welcome.

This resort exceeded my expectations. The location of our apartment was close to the concierge desk (which was outstanding!!!!), breakfast (which was outstanding!!) and the beach/pool area. Entire staff was helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. While I was worried about a resort vibe - it was very comfortable and cozy. The hotel location was also convenient for the side trips we made in Algarve. Would definitely come back.

Pizza and lasagna we ordered at Italian restaurant could have been better but then I think we were expecting a different type of pizza.

The hotel was beautifully located on the cliffs of the sea with a very short walk through the resort to the beach. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the room was huge and clean. The best part was that the beach, pools, and restaurants were never overcrowded meaning we could take advantage of any part of the resort at a whim. Although me and my husband don’t eat seafood, there were plenty of other options, though we both thought the included breakfast buffet with locally sourced food was the highlight of the meals!

It is not really in a town, but that only added to the sense of peace and calm. We did have a car to travel to nearby Carvoeiro one day.

It is a beautiful place located on the ocean. Staff were always helpful. The breakfast was amazing. Several pools to choose from. The rooms were clean several times a day. Rooms were spacious with an outside area overlooking a lovely garden. Bottled water was always replenished in rooms. The resort never felt crowded. Services and staff at the pool and beach and reception were exceptional. Loved this place!

Went to dinner one night at Trattoria at the resort. Pastas and Pizza were good but main dishes (fish and Osobuco) were not very good. Both were too salty.
