Amazing location, very nice SPA zone with a pool and saunas, room had very spacious bathroom. Receptionist helped us to carry out luggage with a cart.

We were confused about working hours of the bar, maybe staff should think of putting a sign which would inform of the opening hours of the bar. Also, restaurant seemed a bit expensive and breakfast could contain a better coffee.

Location: 3 minutes to the small beach, 2 swimming pools, clean room, beautiful hotel, comfortable bed and bathroom. Food was good, and breakfast 4/5.

This is definitely not 5* hotel. First - staff doesn’t know English on a good level, especially guys in the restaurant, you always have to explain them, choose simple words etc. There is NOTHING in the territory: no water dispensers, no shops, no entertainment, no other cafes, NOTHING. Only 1 vending machine with cigarettes!! So if you want just water - you have to buy in the (only one) restaurant, they don’t serve you tap water on lunch/dinner. Towels: you should go yourself to spa to pick it every day, and no one is going to tell you about it. Security: it is easy to access the hotel’s swimming pool from public beach, nobody is checking who is entering the hotel’s territory. I haven’t seen any security guy on the territory.

Great Breakfast, Friendly staff. 2 bed Apartment was spacious and airy. Bed was comfortable. The location is superb, although is it out of the way and a hire car is essential, this meant that the Beach and Hotel location were quiet at night. Views are amazing and gardens are pretty. Salt water pool was good.

This is a family hotel, so there is a lot of noise around the pool(s) with kids having lots of loud fun, which is great if that is what you expect on your holiday. It is not a peaceful Spa retreat atmosphere you might expect when booking. If you move to the lawn area towards the beach, it is more peaceful. Did not eat lunch or evening meal at the restaurant as the prices were too expensive. We dined at the local beach bar at Praia de Albandeira, and drove into the local towns for a better well-priced selection of food.

It was such a treat to stay at The Vila Alba Resort. The location - dreamy and peaceful, within a coastal conservation area, away from the development of neighbouring towns although they are within short driving distance for a change of evening dinner options. The facilities on site were superb as were the staff. Breakfast choice, lunchtime snacks and service superb too. The resort leads on to what were a couple of our favourite secluded beaches along the Algarve. Newish boardwalks/steps, then rocky access at the end at certain tide times. We came to the area to visit the caves by kayak and it was just a short walk away to connect up with the necessary tour companies and would say we had the best experience from this destination, east of Benagil.

wonderful rooms, comfortable beds, nice breakfast too; I also found 2 pastel de nata in the room waiting for me on the table :) I know you can use the pool and the gym, which is great, but unfortunately I didn't do it... ps: the villa really gives you the vibes of "The Truman Show" village lol

if you don't have a car or if you're not using a uber/taxi, then it's probably more difficult to reach; I've personally walked from Benagil Cave to the Resort (less than 1 hr), but then took a uber to reach my next destination (Lagos); also, if you stay there with a friend, be mindful of the showers/toilet: if I remember correctly, there were only glass doors, so it's all very visible hehe

The staff were amazing and the hotel was beautiful. The views are particularly stunning. The food at the wedding was amazing!

The food in the restaurant was a bit disappointing. We had lunch and dinner there and the food was a bit dry and not very hot.

What a secret gem of a find! Everything about this hotel was perfect. PERFECT location - about a 10min drive to the cutest village in Algarve (Carveiro), located with an infinity pool view over the cliffs and a 2min walk down to a stunning beach just in front of the hotel. It felt 5 star but at the same time authentic and so quiet, meaning we could fully relax. The spa facilities, the room service, the staff - all 10 out of 10. We stayed 12 nights and ate at the restaurant often and were never disappointed with the food - the chef knows what they’re doing for sure! Great breakfast variety too. Shout out to Gabriel, our waiter, for always serving us with a smile, and Yolanda for her amazing cocktails. Everyone was so kind and really hope to come back one day to this perfect little spot.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but just a tip to rent a car if staying here as it is quite remote (which is the best part about it) so that you can explore a bit. Although.. we found that the best beaches, coastline, and town in the whole of the Algarve was right in front of our hotel, so no need to go very far and Ubers do work there if you want to go into Carveiro

We booked this hotel for a three day break, driving to the Algarve from our house just north of Lisbon. We are very familiar with all things Portuguese, and everything at Vila Alba was excellent. The ultra modern sea view suite was fabulous (shame there were only 4 hangars in the wardrobe!), wonderfully comfortable, and immaculately cleaned each morning at our chosen time. The restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner was also excellent, with delightful attentive staff, and a sea view to die for. The whole resort is really quite spectacular with imposing architecture and a real feeling of style and quality. There is a small beach which is a few minutes walk down the cliff path, which definitely is not child buggy/wheelchair friendly. The long narrow approach road is not for the nervous driver, but on the plus side, there is very little unwanted traffic to spoil the tranquility of the resort.

The resort is very secluded. You do need a car if you want to go anywhere. The last 2 miles of the road to get to it is scary, but it is worth it. Beach is great breakfast is good. Town nearby is awesome (10 min away). Amazing Italian restaurant Villa Medici is a must! If you are looking for a major city, albufiera is 40 min away and is very crowded. Beaches at and nearby this hotel are small coves. Definitely recommend taking a cave tour by boat.

Road to the resort is scary. The last 2 miles is a two lane car that fits one car, so you must give way. GET AN SUV AND THE INSURANCE. Our car was scraped up by the trees driving through and giving way. Luckily we did have the insurance!
