My First Night I spent at a different Hotel, because they were overbooked. The View over Funchal was amazing! Very clean and nice rooms! I was a little shocked about the breakfast buffet, since I expected a little more varieties but it was totally enough! Dinner at the Hotel Restaurant was also very delicous!

Location! It is not central at all! If you book tours, they dont pick you up from the Hotel! Take a bolt, which is way cheaper than Taxi!

the breakfast was excellent and many products were fresh. they also have a menu a la carte which you can choose from. However, one bizarre thing is that you have to pay for a cappuccino but not for a coffee with milk. i have never been in another 5-star hotel where you have to pay for a cappuccino in the morning. the facilities were very good and the restaurant too. there is also a gym with a few equipments. the hotel is super clean.

staff should be more prepared to give advices in terms of restaurants and activities to do on the island and in funchal. cappuccino should be free in the morning

The view over Funchal is absolutely stunning. You can see the entire city. The rooms were clean and modern. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a lovely spread offering cooked options and fresh fruit. Pool was lovely , the spar was small but clean and never overcrowded.

There are no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms which as a Brit were sorely missed! The hotel is situated in Monte which is further up the hill from Funchal. We are both active hikers so the 30 minute walk/climb up and down the hill to the centre of Funchal wasn’t much of a bother to us but could be for less able bodied people. When we couldn’t be bothered with the climb a taxi was only €10 !

Fabulous views; friendly, helpful staff. Loved the special touches such as the cake they made to celebrate my birthday. Lovely well equipped spa. Great spot for watching the toboggan run as it runs passed the hotel.

Nothing - although may not suit people with walking difficulties due to position half way up a fairly steep hill but taxis are readily available if needed.

The view, clean and small, didn't feel busy even though it was fully booked.

Steep hill it was on but I guess you wouldn't get the view if it was closer to town centre. One of the waiters telling me off for trying to take a bread roll out of breakfast! 🙄 Wanted me to pay 6 euros for it!! Really!! Wouldn't say it was 5* more like 4 star + The fridge was broken in our bedroom, asked the reception to fix or swap but they could not manage for 4 days but one of the waiters kept our fresh milk for us in their main kitchen.

The staff were exceptionally kind, friendly and accommodating, definitely the highlight of our stay there Our room was impeccably clean and had a stunning view. The hotel restaurant is great, and amazing breakfast Interior design felt fresh and tasteful Free parking

Room was lacking a few basic amenities, like a kettle, iron, smart TV (netflix/youtube/etc), conditioner Breakfast starts only at 7:30 which is pretty limiting if you're going on early hikes - though they offer to pack breakfast for you the night before I found the pillows a bit uncomfortable

Clean and spacious room. The room was very nicely furnished. Hotel itself gives a nice feeling of intimacy as there are 25 rooms, which I found a very big plus. Nice addition is that all facilities like gym or spa are included (no extra charge). The local attraction Toboggan Sledge passes directly next to the hotel and finishes several meters below, great ride.

Terrible air conditioning inside the room, technically it works good, but the fan was super noisy and temperature control manipulator looked like from early 90's.

Hotel had a beautiful view from our room, the breakfast was good, staff very friendly and helpful.

Bed was uncomfortable, the shower was weak, no complimentary tea or coffee in the room.

Beautiful decor and stunning views of Funchal. The staff were all friendly, hardworking and very helpful! The hotel was clean, comfortable with excellent facilities and great food.

Delightful boutique hotel. Great base for holiday in Madeira. Staff are great, facilities excellent, stylish and very comfortable, half board brilliant quality and value, hotel's 3 times per day complimentary shuttle service and occasional Bolt taxi solve getting around especially uphill in Funchal. Highly recommended.

Didn't dislike anything.
