A lovely apartment-hotel, in a great location! The staff are friendly, the apartments are very spacious, have stunning views over the pool, and the beds were very comfortable too. The pool is even bigger than the photos! It gets all day sunshine so a great place to lounge in the sun. It’s a short walk to the beach and the centre of the old town. Would definitely stay here again.

My partner and I (both in our early 20s) stayed here for a week and it genuinely exceeded our expectations. The property is spotless, well maintained, and ideally located, just a 10-minute walk from everything you might need. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, and they kindly let us store our luggage on the last day so we could make the most of our time exploring before our flight. We stayed in a studio room which was much more spacious than it looked online. The shower had excellent water pressure and the bed was absolutely massive and very comfortable. Housekeeping came almost every day, changing our towels and bedsheets, and even doing our dishes, which was a lovely and unexpected touch. The pool area is beautifully kept. Although the water was a bit chilly in early May, the sun loungers got sunlight until 7pm. They were padded and extremely comfortable, perfect for relaxing. We felt completely at ease during our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return if we ever come back to Lagos. If you’re unsure about booking, take this as your sign. You won’t regret it!

Just a heads-up if you're tall, my partner is 6ft 2 and managed to whack his head on the low-hanging kitchen lights in our room more than once! Not really a complaint, more of a gentle warning to tall folk 😂

the room was exactly as described when booking. the location was at maximum a 10 minute walk away from the main city centre and had a spar shop just 5 minutes walk away as well. the reception ladies were so lovely and helpful especially when i accidentally locked myself out of my room. the cleanliness of the room was 10/10 and the bed was very comfy. good amenities if you wanted to cook but also plenty of eating out options in the city too.

the pool wasn't very clean but expected as it wasn't quite peak season or the weather to swim but we had a few nice days which would have been improved with a cleaner pool. upon arrival the bathroom was immaculate but as our week went on there was a weird smell coming from the toilet or maybe drains in the bathroom and with no window to open, wasn't pleasant but overall not a massive issue.

Room 201 was a lovely room, fab size and super roof top balcony. The bed was super comfortable. Great location, 5 mins walk from a great food spa. 5 mins walk to the centre of the shops and restaurants. Central Pandaria “bakery” just 5 mins away also which is great value and great coffee / breakfast shop 3 doors down on the corner which smart contemporary and always busy .

My husband and I stayed at Baluarte da Vila Apartments for three nights. The most amazing feature of this accommodation, other than the warm, helpful staff, are the views. Absolutely amazing! Our studio room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The shower is large.We never watched TV, but there is one in the room, along with a small kitchenette. The location of Baluarte da Vila is key! Walk down narrow cobblestone roads to many restaurants and shops. Walk up, beyond the fire station, for additional splendid views of the river, boardwalk to the lighthouse, and the Atlantic Ocean. The accommodations are not new, but they are wonderful. And reasonably priced! I highly recommend!

The only small inconvenience was no shelf in the shower. If you have a difficult time bending down to grab soap, shampoo, etc, this might be an issue.

Pool access was fabulous. It was amazing having somewhere to relax and cool off after exploring around Lagos. The room was a perfect size for our 4 night stay.

Such a refreshing, peaceful light space, with a usable kitchenette which was important to us. The little balcony (ground level) was towards the pool, so having been here off season, it was super quiet and idyllic to look past the pool to the sea. Probably less privacy in this specific room if there are lots of people by the pool. For us in early March, it was perfect!

The bathroom ventilation isn't great so it stays steamed up for a bit, and the curtains let some light through, but this is 'complaining' on a high level, the space was excellent overall!! Very quiet and peaceful in early March.

We had a very nice apartment with sea view, which was absolutely stunning. Having breakfast in the morning with the windows open and the sea and pool view was one of the highlights. Also the building is very calm. We definitely felt like nobody was disturbing us. The building itself has a very calm atmosphere. The reception is extremely friendly and helpful! Thanks so much for making us feel at home! The cleanliness was really good, the bathroom was modern and large. There was enough space for luggage and clothes. Also the old town is just a few minutes by walking and so you do not need to walk a lot. Also that's why you have a lot of privacy and are protected from the party folks at night. We would definitely recommend staying here for the good value for money you get!

I have the feeling that we had one of the older apartments. The kitchen could use some modernization and some furniture looked older as well. That though didn't disturb us much. A negative point is the lighting in the bathroom which definitely needs to be renewed as it was very dark.

We stayed in the superior apartment with terrace and the views from the terrace were incredible! Apartment was spotless and had everything we needed and was comfortable and cool to relax in. Kitchen area was particularly useful for us. Location is ideal for old town and beaches. Every single member of staff was extremely pleasant. We look forward to returning in the future!

For a room rated as "superior" some upgrades could be made - the bath has a sizeable chip that needs repaired, towels are thin and could be much higher quality and the fitted sheet for the bed is not an adequate size for the mattress...minor issues that would make easy improvements to an already great property!

After being dropped by taxi at the vila and knocking on the door the lovely receptionist 'Eva?' welcomed us and gave us a detail briefing about the accommodation, the vila, pool etc as well as a map of the town with detailed information on eg supermarket, town centre, beaches etc. The studio was well equiped and had fabulous views of the pool area and the ocean and the added benefit of a furnished balcony ideal to chill out after a swim or sightseeing with a glass of wine or to enjoy al fresco meals. The most comfortable king size bed we have slept in for sometime. The location was perfect with part of the building close to the city wall. A quiet perfect location near the old city centre but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the buzy town, only 5-10' walk. Plenty of restaurants and beautiful architecture. Close to the beaches, marina and train station. The place was spotless and the domestic staff very pleasant, helpful and kind. Our departure was also very smooth and Jessica very helpful. If back in Lagos i will not hesitate to return to Baluarte vilas and request the same room.

there wasnt anything we didnt like but there are a few things that could be improved/added. We did feel there could be more hangers in wardrobe, some hooks in the bathroom to hang your dressing gown or towel, some shelves for toiletries and one in the shower. The kitchenette would benefit from having a shopping board. It is a pity there isnt a toilet facility by the poolside and the reception area.
