The decor was amazing, every detail thought through and so so beautiful. The staff very friendly, both before the trip in answering any questions, and during the stay as well. Delicious breakfast, very fresh and eggs made to order, in a spacious and sunny room on the rooftop.

We had 3 rooms for our friends and we noticed that there were quite some differences in the amenities provided, even though the room “standard” was the same (things like different toiletries, some rooms had a tea set others didn’t). The breakfast was a little confusing as you had to ask for some things and not others and if something was running low you had to ask for it. Poor WiFi in most places, we had to use data to use the internet. The floors are stone which can get cold so bring slippers if you care about this!

My sister and I stayed for a week. What an absolute gem! Beautiful property with Moroccan theme. Situated on the edge of old town, it is in a quiet area but a very short walk to the restaurants. The room had a large sitting area with fridge, great to have a terrace and the bed was very comfortable. We loved having the pool as well. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with lots of choice including homemade cakes. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for all the guests. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back

Nothing, it was perfect

Friendly, helpful hosts who took care of the very nice buffet breakfast and chatted with us about life in the Algarve. Colorful rooms with Moroccan style design and furniture - an antique look, not a shiny new look. The minisplit heater at night helped with a little dampness in the bedding. Breakfast was on a lovely roof deck overlooking a park and the medieval wall. A terrace on the ground floor with a pool was sunlit and warm during our December visit. Farther down the hill are lots of great restaurants. It's a 6-10 minute walk to the harbor via windy streets. Have a navigation app handy!

The styling of the common areas and suite are extremely well done. Attention to detail was very clearly adhered to. The suite was spacious, the bed comfortable and checking in was easy. The location was great - not in the busy centre, but a close walk. There was parking nearby. The staff were extremely friendly and provided a lovely breakfast in the morning. We appreciated their kindness and attentiveness.

The room wasn't 100% clean - there was some left over food on the floor (fries) from the previous guests and wet bath towels were left in the suite - both things easily missed - carpets are colourful and hide food mess and towels were on the back of the door. We also found the lighting really dark - the coloured lanterns are beautiful, but made reading at night impossible. Bring a book lamp if you enjoy reading before bed. Not a big deal - just something to consider.

The ladies were extremely nice and proactive. The room was spacious and clean. Different tea flavors, coffee, and milk were available in the room. We had a delicious breakfast (bacon, eggs, several types of cheese, fresh juice, pie, croissants, sausages, Greek yogurt, cookies, and other products on the rooftop with beautiful views of old buildings and the ocean. The location is in the city center,100 meters from such places of interest as the main square, the Museum of Lagos, and the main church. The atmosphere favored a cozy stay and relaxation. The splendid beach was rather close to this place.

Beautiful hotel inside the walled city of Lagos. The Arabesque decor is gorgeous (the owners have brought much of it from Morocco). The breakfast is just wonderful! The best spread we had while in Portugal. New owners took over this property in January 2024 and they have made many thoughtful upgrades. Dora was such a lovely hostess and made us feel right at home, while the staff was great too. The building is old and we had an issue with the shower clogging but the staff fixed it right away.

Though this street is relatively quiet for inside the walled city, it’s still pretty noisy facing the street. If you’re very sensitive to noise or prefer to go to bed early, a room facing the pool might be quieter. It was consistently quiet from about midnight until 8 am.

What an eccentric gem! Casa da Moura exceeded our expectations and was different than anywhere else we stayed in the Algarve, felt more like Casablanca at times. Great location and amenities. Large and spacious rooms, very comfortable bed, fully stocked kitchenette with anything you need and a great breakfast/coffee spread in the mornings. Rooftop terrace had beautiful views and pool area was great for lounging or a quick dip. Mathilda the manager was also a great host! She was friendly, responsive and attentive to any needs we had. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to friends visiting Lagos.

The only negative was there is a dance school right across the street that is very loud between 6 & 9 pm on weekdays, but hey you can’t have it all ;)

Absolutely lovely stay in a beautifully decorated and relaxing property. The stuff were both professional and friendly. And you got the impression nothing could be too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent with both hot and cold options and plenty of fruit. Despite being only three or four minutes walk into the lively town Centre, none of the noise filtered up to the property which was incredibly relaxing.

Very, very little, although if I was being picky, the sofa in the living room was not the most comfortable.

Exactly as described and looks like in ad, great central location, but just a street or two away enough for quiet at night to sleep (and I'm a very light sleeper), pool was very nice to come back to after a beach day or hot hike, breakfast buffets were 10/10 incredible, Moroccan theme/ambiance was a nice touch, supermarket, restaurants, 10-15 minute walk to Dona Ana beach which was amazing! Mathilda the host was incredibly helpful, set up a fabulous Benegil boatrip, helped us with train times and with other directions and local recommendations! She made us breakfast to go when we would miss breky due to train times which was so kind of her! Mathilda goes above and beyond!

Agree with some other reviews beds are fairly firm if you are a picky sleeper. I asked for a new pillow as mine was on its way out and Mathilda was very kind to give me a new one right away which I had a much better sleep with.

Dora the owner was very welcoming and made us feel right at home at this lovely small (9 rooms) property. The breakfast is amazing and a highlight of the day - we were even treated to a bottle of champagne because of a special occasion. The rooms are lovely with authentic decoration, along with the rest of the property. The location was good for walking anywhere you wanted to in Lagos. When leaving we were allowed to retain our room and use the facilities/pool until we left in the late afternoon - totally unexpected, but really appreciated the caring. Of travelling to Lagos we would definitely stay here again and will recommend to others without hesitation.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable for us.
