We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The room was exceptionally clean, and the beds were very comfortable, though the decor felt a bit old-fashioned. The standout feature was the staff, who were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was good, but a bit more variety would have made it even better for our longer stay. Overall, a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. We would recommend it.

Beautiful homely place, very friendly people. The garden is absolutely amazing, and the pool is a nice addition. It's a bit in the middle of nowhere, which made it very quiet and nice to be away, however, everything around is very easily accesible by car. Breakfast was good as well, and the dining in was nice as well!

The room itself is not very spacious, and bit outdated style, but this didn't bother us at all since it was clean and everything worked great.

We especially liked the pool area, however it could do with smartening up slightly. The staff were very friendly, a member of staff called Rose was very helpful. She spoke very good English and I believe she had only just started the job recently and seemed to be learning the ropes very quickly.

It would have very helpful for us if there had been a lift, we are both 76 and the stairs were quite difficult at times. Also it would have been quite good if there had been tea and coffee making facilities in the room. However we still enjoyed the stay.

This was a return visit for us, which should say a lot. The tranquility and ambience is a delight. The breakfast is plentiful with good choices available for other meals either in Albergaria do Lageado or nearby. It's also a great base for exploring with good access to the coast or the hills.

Nothing really, sometimes the traffic on the nearby road was noticeable when by the pool.

Location great. Nice pool, nice terraces. Restaurant food good. Staff were nice, and helpful. The area was peaceful.

Breakfast o.k. The bacon and eggs cold unless there at the beginning. the Bread was lovely, but coffee only so-so and the orange juice disappointing for Portugal! But staff were lovely and bread/cheese/ham for breakfast was very nice though.

Excellent hotel - nice old building tastefully modernised but not at all hyper-modern! Just good solid stuff that works (like the shower, etc, bidet etc). Simple functioning air conditioning (which was required as we were there during seriously hot weather). Very pleasant garden on steep slope with a cleverly placed swimming pool (quite big) surrounded by sub tropical plants and flowers. Good breakfast included in the reasonably priced room. We dined in one night and the restaurant was good quality and good value. Real traditional Portuguese fare. Friendly and helpful staff too. What’s not to like?? Caldas de Monchique is a very pretty spa village. So all in all strongly recommended!

A gem in the Monchique mountains in a tranquil setting located next to a thermal resort, certainly worth a visit. What an absolutely cute family run Inn with an excellent restaurant. Very professionally run with excellent food and service. The chef actually came out to explain how she made the delicious carob dessert which was scrumptious. We had a Junior Suite with a lovely terrace off the living room, couldn’t ask for a more peaceful setting.

The building and patio areas needed cleaning and there was black mold on the walls

The staff was amazing! Very friendly, approachable and eager to help anytime. They even prepared a breakfast just for us when we needed to leave the place earlier. We felt taken care of. Even thought the hotel is not the newest, it was amazingly clean! And the mattress was probably the most comfortable during our stay in Portugal so far:)

Traditional and slightly old school but endearing. Lovely rear garden. Didn't use the pool but looked quite inviting. Helpful staff. Evening restaurant for dinner which is useful as the village of Caldas doesn't have too many restaurants. Inside or outside options too. Price was reasonable. Parking available.

Rooms could maybe use a slight update. No lift.

The place is charming and the staff with the exception of one were great! The pool is nice and the property is nicely laid out

The pillows and mattress were a bit uncomfortable for us but that may not be the case for others. The one staff member that did give me a bit of a hard time over the price quoted for the extension stay was the only one that was a bit argumentative but only for that otherwise he was okay. Rose, Anna and the other ladies were great!
