Arco is roughly a 10 minute drive from Pinhao which is basically a working wine town. Not much to recommend in the town, not even the local grocery store staff seemed to like tourists. However, we loved Casa do Arco, the building which is basically a box shape on 3 levels is modern and all class. Someone had some great vision in designing this place. Design and building construction looked to be well executed with lovely common areas, great breakfasts and a wonderful dinner on the first night. Make sure you book ahead for a memorable dinner, excellent food and wine. The views down into the valley were wonderful and even though it is above a road, it was surprisingly quiet. The above ground pool was on the small side, but is was refreshing in 35C heat. Very relaxing under some olive tress I think, peaceful. Good security as well.

The service was outstanding!!!! We were taken care of in an amazing way. The dinner at the hotel was delicious (higher price level but worth it). The views were incredible! The huge windows provide views that take your breath away. There is a possibility to pick a bottle of wine and write it on a list, you pay at the check out. Large bathroom with natural light. Very peaceful but still close to Pinhao. It took us 40 min to hike down and we paid 10€ for a taxi back. Comfortable sunchairs. Delicious breakfast served at the table. Very small so not many guests to share this adorable property with.

The pool could use some upgrades and the toilet flash didn’t work very well. Minor inconveniences.

We have traveled extensively in Europe and visited many beautiful places. Casa do Arco left us speechless. The location is truly stunning, the rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, peaceful, and well-appointed. The pool and house amenities added to our comfort. Breakfast was wonderfully prepared, and the staff is so kind! Dinner is simply unmissable! It is a dining experience you will never forget. Marco and Ana are warm, approachable, and truly guest focused. You can reach town in a few minutes for any necessities. and we were able to catch a river cruise and winery tour. This is an absolute MUST BOOK.

We had an incredible stay at this beautifully modernly designed house! The property features three guest rooms on the first floor and a cozy living room with a large fireplace and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground floor. We were lucky to receive a free room upgrade, thanks to Ana, our lovely host. She offered us the largest room since we were the only guests during our stay. The room was spacious, with huge windows offering breathtaking views—one overlooking the valley and the other the mountains. The bed was very comfortable, and the peaceful, isolated location added to the charm. After showing us the upgraded room, Ana welcomed us with two glasses of port wine, which was such a thoughtful touch. The house also has an elevator, making it easy to handle luggage, and there is free parking available on the property. The location is just a 10-minute drive from Pinhão, which made it a convenient base for exploring the area. The breakfast in the dining room was delicious, with a good variety of options to start the day.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on the day of our visit, so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy dinner on-site.

During a long trip with more than 15 stops around Europe, this is the accommodation that stands out. It is exceptional at all levels, the perfect package of warm hospitality and a property with the views and comfort levels you would expect of a luxury hotel. Ana, Marco, Antonio and the rest of the team will do everything possible to ensure your stay in the Douro is memorable. Breakfast and dinner (particularly the beef) are first-rate, as is the wine list (including their own label). And all things considered, the price of a room is a bargain.

Nestled in the heart of the Douro Valley, Casa do Arco by Douro Exclusive is a spectacular gem that promises an unforgettable stay. The meticulous attention to detail throughout the property is evident, from the elegant decor to the expansive windows that perfectly frame the stunning views. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a spectacular range of pastries, muesli, and eggs to suit every taste. On Sunday and Monday evenings, as the restaurant is closed for dinner, we opted for a picnic basket and were delighted with the spread of artisan crackers, cheeses, salmon, patties etc. It was truly magical to sit in front of the beautiful windows, enjoying our meal with a bottle of wine as the sun set over the valley. The staff are exceptional, offering delightful conversations and invaluable insights and recommendations about the region.

Would be cool to see the outside developed further to compliment the interior and landscape.

We were recommended by a friend to stay at Casa Do Arco. We ended our amazing trip in Portugal with two nights at Casa Do Arco and it exceeded our expectations. Ana and Marco have done such a beautiful job with the property. The second we arrived we were greeted by the lovely Ana. She gave us a private tour and set up dinner reservations and taxi services for us that night in town, since it was Monday and the kitchen was closed. The next day we did the most amazing private tour with Ana around Douro Valley. I highly recommend anyone to book their experience tours as well. Our last dinner was at the casa with Marco leading the night. It was such an incredible meal. I would also like to shout out the staff at the casa who really made us feel welcomed. Wow Casa Do Arco is a very special place!

The Casa do Douro was the highlight of our stay in Portugal. The room was well-appointed and the view over the valley incomparable. What's more the service was very friendly and attentive without at all feeling overbearing or stuffy. We had dinner at the restaurant and the meal was also the best of our trip! I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. This was our honeymoon and my 8th trip to Portugal and one of the best stays.

We booked this place on a whim and it was extraordinary. It is really of the highest design quality and blends into the landscape. It's a short drive down the mountain to Pinhao. We were warmly greated by Tony who provided us with lots of knowledge of the area and great suggestions of things to do and places to eat. The hotel itself has a great breakfast and wonderful dinner. There are about 6 different menus and the 4 we tried were fabulous. We loved this place and would like to stay there again.

The views were amazing and the accommodation was beautifully presented. Breakfast and dinner were lovely and freshly made. We particularly loved our day tour with Sandra, who was extremely knowledgeable about the Duoro region and took us to a beautiful vineyard where the owners went out of their way to accommodate us.

The pool looked a bit murky and not clear , so I didn’t feel comfortable swimming iin it. There was also a sewerage smell in the bathroom. The staff did not provide clear instructions for our hike and we got lost in the heat with no water able to be provided for us from the staff. There was also often no water available in the guest lounge. Options for a drink in the lounge other than buying a bottle would be a nice touch.
