This accommodation is in a stunning location. Absolutely beautiful. On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and the room comfortable an well equipped.

We were staying on a half board basis. We ate one evening meal in the restaurant and the others were served 'buffet style' in the same area as breakfast was provided. The restaurant meal was disappointing. One of the dishes arrived cold and was taken away. The same dish was returned reheated! We knew this was the case because we had cut it in half before realizing it was cold. The breakfast and evening buffets were not adequately replenished.

Exceptional location with breath taking views. Friendly attentive staff and fantastic breakfast and evening meals. Everything was super clean and well maintained. No hesitation in saying we will return.

It wasn’t a problem for our group but there’s lots of steep climbs and steps, we managed easily and only mention this for the attention of anyone who has mobility problems. The restaurant for buffet meals is reasonably easy to get get to with only a few steps but the main restaurant ( fabulous 👍) is down a very steep and long path away from the accommodation so we drove to it. It’s a shame there didn’t seem to be a shuttle to and from.

Our room was in the topmost row of houses. Which ment, going down to the restaurant, we had to go down over stairs with around 150 steps. And then to go up afterwards again. When we arrived around 3 pm, we couldn't make a reservation in the restaurant for the same evening, as it was booked out. We got a great recommondation from the staff, but had to drive 20 min with the car.

The location and views were spectacular. We really enjoyed dinners at l'Inevitável restaurant. The dishes were locally inspired but with a modern take. Delicious! The staff were friendly, helpful, professional and could speak English. The pool area was gorgeous too. Beautiful grounds during the day and at night. Loved how quiet and peaceful it was. We also greatly enjoyed the wine and port tastings. Beautiful venue and fair prices.

Found the mattress a little soft for my back but my husband found it very comfortable.

Location - facilities - staff and the restaurant.

The place is not that convenient and not that comfortable as far as accessibility to the restaurant , the dinning hall and the rooms which are not on ground level. However, in our case the front desk person was very kind and we were lucky to being able to switch the room for us on the ground level. We did get the hotel van to drive us to the restaurant which was at the entrance to the property.

The views are incredible from every room at this hotel. We enjoyed the two swimming pools and the on-site winery tour. We wish we would have had more time to explore the area.

The amazing views from all the different rooms (bedroom, dining room, pools, outdoors) and the fantastic breakfast. The staff was very friendly and everything is clean and organized. Fantastic place to relax and soak in the air of Douro river.

A little more control in the pool during these summer days, where despite the fact that it's forbidden to reserve sunbeds in the pools, people do it first thing in the morning. And when people turn up to use the space, they're told 'it's all taken' and in reality there's nobody there.

The room had a fabulous view of the valley and Douro River. Clean and grounds well maintained. Great staff in restaurant and hotel. Loved the wine tour with a friendly and knowledgable guide. The breakfast buffet was also very good, lots of fresh choices and views.

It was not clear how to get to the hotel. There are other "Vila Gale Duoro Valley" resorts nearby. We drove to the wrong one. The hotel is rather remote, which is wonderful but would have liked dinner at the restaurant to be a la carte rather than a big buffet.We didn't want to drive anywhere for dinner. Sounds like they plan to offer a la carte menu in the future.

The property is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We did not book the meal option ahead of time but were easily accommodated in the restaurant both nights (shoulder season) and had some delicious meals. The room was small, the toilet area a bit non-private, and the mattress had a loud plastic cover on it. But you're coming to enjoy the region, not sit in the room. Every room has a view and we had a small balcony to enjoy the sunset and full moon. As with every place in this region, you will need a car, a good driver, and be able to climb stairs.

room layout is a bit awkward and there is no privacy when one guest is using the toilet. The cover on the mattress was a bit noisy when rolling around.

Located in a beautiful part of the Douro vineyard area. It is a off the main villages but the tranquillity and views more than made up for this. Rooms were very spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. Super friendly staff in all parts of the hotel from reception, dining room and housekeeping. Really easy to get to Pinhão and Regua by taxi... aprox 25€ each way for a 4 pax tansporter.

No bar service for getting any drinks or snacks around the pool until after 12.00 or 12.30 in our experience. We had to go down to the restaurant in swim suits to order, wait and collect drinks. Breakfast buffet was fine but lacked any 'luxuries' such as fresh yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice etc... everything was a little pre packed. But it is not a 5* so perhaps this is acceptable. On a weekend when they had a wedding party, we were only able to check in on the Friday well after 4pm and on the following days we only had room cleaning after 5pm which was a little bit of a stretch. No wine in the room fridge... so soft drinks and beer only... which was surprising as this is a wine estate.
