Our stay at Quinta de Casaldronho was truly special. The views over the vineyards are absolutely stunning, and the peaceful setting made it the perfect retreat. A big thank you to Ana at reception, who went above and beyond helping us plan activities and gave us great local recommendations. She really made us feel welcome. And we can’t forget DOC, the friendly hotel dog, who surprised us with a little “tour” through the vineyards—such a charming touch that made our stay even more memorable! Dinner at the hotel was excellent, with beautifully prepared dishes and fantastic service. The staff really went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Modern, clean rooms. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Douro Valley.

Having read some of the reviews of this outstanding hotel situated amongst the rolling hills of the Douro valley, I find it absolutely astonishing some of the negativity towards such a wonderful place. Property is surrounded by its own vineyards that produce magnificent wine some of which we sampled with dinner, complemented by the cuisine which is chosen from seasonal availability. Once the sun goes down, you can retire to your balcony under the stars listening to the crickets and wildlife that surround such a beautiful countryside. The property has a pool for your early morning dip or days sunbathing, which is a fantastic way to start your day, especially if you are continuing your travel along this splendid valley. Definitely recommended.

Staff are amazing. Doc and Fluffy are the cutest ever. Food in the restaurant is very good. Congratulations to the chef! The breakfast can be improved - variety and product quality. The view when you are on top of the hills is stunning. It’s a very cozy place where we were very well served. The first time you drive there you may find the access difficult but you get used to it very quickly.

We had a very good stay here. Room was comfortable and had a great shower. Rooftop pool was small, but good for a cooling dip. Bar served drinks to the rooftop so you could relax. The restaurant was good, I like that the menu was small and changed daily. Nice views over the vineyards (yes there are pylons but it didn't hamper our experience). We only spent a night here and we probably wouldn't stay longer, but suited our need.

Staff seemed surprised and reluctant to do anything when I told them there was a huge stain on the bedsheets on our arrival (turns out it was suncream stain, which doesn't come out in the wash, but nonetheless was not a particularly great first impression!)

We celebrated our honeymoon here, and the hotel made it truly unforgettable. As a special gesture, they welcomed us with champagne. The hotel features a stunning pool and breathtaking views, and we especially enjoyed the wine tasting experience. The service was exceptional throughout our stay — we highly recommend this hotel.

Everything was as expected and above. The hotel and location are a great experience.

Just three small notes: • The room blackouts don't really work and we were awaken by sunlight at first dawn. Had to use t-shirts to cover our faces since we had nothing else. • The pool was lovely with it's amazing views but it was extremely warm. We were there in a very hot day (around 40°) and the pool was not refreshing at all, very warm and a little bit unpleasant. • The food and wine in the restaurant were amazing, lovely taste, lovely presentation but the prices were a bit high for what we had. Besides these we absolutely loved the experience and would definitely return in another trip to the Douro valley.

The hotel was simply amazing - more than we expected. The staff did everything to assist. The location was nothing short of breath taking. But to get there, do not rely totally on Google Maps which took us along some very very narrow roads, when later we found out that there was a much shorter and better route. Nevertheless, from the main road, the hotel is down a short but very narrow path. But it was all definitely worth it.

There was nothing that could have been better. We just wished we could have stayed longer.

A beautiful location amongst the vines. Very peaceful and quiet. . Lovely rooms with very comfortable bed, pillows and linen. Standard of meals were great. Staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend this property.

There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel.

Cool area to visit, even though the drive on the one way windy roads up the hillside through the steep vineyards was a little scary. It’s all in the adventure…I’d advise others to plan to arrive several hours before sunset. Once in place the facility was wonderful. Plan to stay in for dinner as the property has delicious meal options served with their own wine available. The breakfast was very good with a lot of bread choices and made to order eggs.

More signage is needed to direct areas for the 3 separate parking spaces available.

Quinta de Casaldronho's modern design situated in a vineyard with views across the Duoro valley and Regua was delightful. The room was compact, yet comfortable. We enjoyed a simple, but somewhat more expensive dinner at the hotel. (We were glad not to be driving the twisty hillsides at night.) The staff were quite friendly and helpful.
