We stayed five nights at Quinta de la Rosa and it was perfect. Our room was in Amarella cottage a few minute walk from the main house which was lovely and had its own pool! Food at the restaurant was great including Tim’s Terrace. Also it’s only a short 10 minute walk into Pinhao where there are more restaurants, bars and boat trips and the train station.

The space is beautiful - a historic quinta, with views of the vineyards and the Douro river. It's a large property, with plenty of room for guests to feel private. Multiple pools, a trail through the vineyards, nice rooms. The staff was also lovely - very kind, professional, went above and beyond. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. The best part was probably the location - walking distance (15 minutes) into the town of Pinhao, but outside enough to feel like you're deep in the valley.

Honestly nothing worth noting. Was an excellent stay, especially for the price.

Gorgeous property set in a stunning location - possibly one of the most impressive places we’ve stayed at. Super hospitable staff across the wine tour, reception, restaurants (Tim’s terrace in particular!) The booking email is slightly jarring with the caution around steps, location of casa amarate (which is not a far walk) and facilities. In reality, this is a luxury staff with ample comforts! There are some sets of steps which may cause some struggle for those with mobility issues but not a problem for the regularly functioning. Jacuzzi is also in a nice hidden spot! We stayed in casa amarante which has its own pool and actually ended up being a nicer / private spot for us to relax than the main pool. Breakfast is also delicious - lots of cheese, yoghurt, pastry, preserve selections and you can order eggs. Overall thoroughly recommend this spot if you’re staying in Douro

Beautiful views of the Douro, comfortable rooms and easy walking access into town. We slept well here and the AC works well; it was very hot outside. The pizza restaurant is solid and a welcome spot for a weary traveler. The tasting room is gorgeous as is the property itself.

The hot tub is more like a thick, chlorinated lukewarm soup. The interior of the restaurant (quite expensive) underwhelming - try to get a seat outdoors. The welcome staff were absolutely lovely but the restaurant staff seemed overburdened and unhappy and it translates negatively into the service and overall meal experience. The breakfast is absolutely amazing but the dinner left something to be desired, mostly on the service side. Not a memorable meal. By comparison the meal we had at Quinta do Bomfim down the street was joyful, happy, welcoming and above all everything we ate was incredible.

We absolutely loved how quaint but luxurious the property is!! The staff was exceptional, they even texted me that we had accidentally left something in our room, we coincidentally were come back through the area the following week and stopped by to say hello, should my cousin the property and get what we left. The room was perfect, loved our view! The wine tour was amazing and the wine was just as amazing l! The restaurant was delicious, ambiance was terrific and the service was superb! We can’t say enough wonderful things about the property! Don’t forget to enjoy the pool before you leave!!

I highly recommend staying at this beautifully cared for and family-owned Quinta. We had two gorgeous rooms with river views. Each room was unique, and such care went into decorating them. They were very clean, comfortable, and had plenty of amenities. The beds were great. The gardens and grounds are just lovely. Parking was easy. The breakfast is very delicious and generous. The staff was great throughout. We have a family member with a gluten sensitivity, and the staff was supportive and helpful in providing us with options. We ate dinner here twice, and both meals were great. The location is centrally located in the Douro valley. We were able to walk 10 minutes in Pinhao to catch a boat ride and grab a bite to eat. There is a small grocery in town for snacks. Access to the surrounding Quintas was very easy.

We had a very nice room overlooking the Duro River and a close proximity to the Restaurant. We had reservations for the Restaurant both nights to avoid walking to town. Menu was somewhat limited but what we had was very nice and the waitstaff was very nice.

This Quinta (and most we saw) is not really near very much and it was a decent walk to not too much of a town. Nice amenities on site including a pool but it was still rather cool in early April. Driveways are very steep, especially the one to the guest parking, not for the faint of heart.

Excellent dinner menu, Food was outstanding. Service was sometimes confusing, didn't seem efficient. That said, we had very friendly service persons. It seemed sometimes like each item was being brought by a different person, so you didn't feel "accompanied" by a particular server. The location and landscape are breathtaking. Very special.

Breakfast selection was good but lacked cooked items (eggs, etc.). I would have expected more items for a hotel of this category. There was basically no service at all at breakfast. We were left alone and had to ask where to find certain items which had run out of(e.g. butter). As we were there at the end of the season, it seemed a little lifeless, but we were looking for a quiet stay so that was OK.

This place is really a great choice to stay in a Quinta in this area. First the location: amazing views over the river, super accessible by car or by foot from the train station nearby. The quinta spirit is really there, the pools are great, the rooms are very nicely done and the food is great!

One of the restaurants is not open for dinner, which leaves only the more expensive option available. It would be nice to have both available to be able to have the choice.

We enjoyed our stay in Quinta de la Rosa's beautiful accommodation, delicious restaurant and exploring the vineyards. It is possible to walk to Pinhao (about 20min). We were made to feel very welcome and the restaurant was great. We had a wonderful time!

A minor inconvenience.... we really didn't like the coffee that the venue served in rooms and restaurant. In our opinion, it has a sour after taste. For guests, the coffee making facilities are in a communal lounge down some stairs (not in bedrooms). This meant getting dressed and facing the world, without a coffee to help. We then couldn't drink the actual coffee. Coffee sagas aside, a great venue and we hope to be back! Be aware that many tourist visit options in Douro are by reservation only and often depart from Porto. So recommend you spend a bit of time booking the places you want to visit in advance.
