What a beautiful homey stay at Quinta Da Estrada. Wonderful hospitality and you are treated like family. It's a working farm and winery with an adorable winery dog. Highly recommend the dinner and tasting, it was lovely to learn more about the history in the area and sample some wonderful wine. You can add breakfast to your stay and that was reasonably priced and good! We were able to stay in one of their recently remodeled room and it was quite cozy. Overall, I recommend a stay here!
The only downside was the hot water seemed to be lacking, either took awhile to warm up or not much hot water.

We were met by a very nice receptionist who provided us with a delicious wine, lemon, mint and cinnamon drink while we walked in the beautiful yard and visited the ducks and the sweetest elderly dog named Rex. Our rooms were very comfortable, clean with a lovely terrace and views of the vineyard valley below. The wine and port tasting was excellent and the dinner was amazing. Don’t miss out on booking this in advance. We were also so very fortunate to meet with other guests and enjoy this evening together. The drive to the Quinta is not for the faint of heart. But once we left - it seemed fine - with spectacular views ( but not for the driver 😂).

Beautifully situated in the middle of the Douro Valley, with breathtaking views. Nice small pool area. Very friendly and helpful staff and owner. Good food and insightfull wine tasting. Good value for money.
It would be nice to have the opportunity to see more of the actual winery. Most parts are hidden from view/not accessible for guests. Because we were travelling with kids we could not join the actual wine tasting, wich kind of left us with the feeling that we were just staying in a very nice hotel. The winery is located in a rural area with no opportunities to buy food/have a coffee or a glass of wine. It would be useful therefore if the rooms were equipped with facilities to make coffee and tea and/or a small refrigerator to keep some drinks and food,

The location was perfect. We really enjoyed wine tasting dinner and great company of the host. I would love to come back here again.
I really loved the dogs. They are super friendly and follows you everywhere. However would be great if they also sleep and not bark in the middle of the night 😂

Bobino I hope spelled it right Lovely charming efficient and has cutest charming smile Luis very knowledgeable with wine testing. Expensive as we are Canadians but still worth it When given our final bill breakdown which we would have liked to have it itimized. All of our meals exceptional Dogs added comfort as one slept outside our door We were given good ideas how to spend our days and we looked forward to sharing our evening meal with the Travellers from far and wide Again bobina ensured we had water and created early breakfast for us. The winery is fortunate to have such an accommodating chef plus all else she does with her gentle ways It felt like a home away from home so thanks from Donna and Gunnar from Vancouver British Columbia canada

During our recent stay in October, my family and I had the pleasure of experiencing the enchanting Quinta Da Estrada guest house. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this charming place offered us a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our kindhearted host - Luis, who made us feel right at home. Shortly after he introduced himself to us, we sat down to check-in. After chatting a little bit about our intended wishes for our stay, he took the time to make us a well-selected and thorough plan with nice restaurants, scenic viewpoints, characterful nearby towns, and general worth-the-visit place recommendations. Whilst exploring these places, we found ourselves immersed in the beauty of the region. The guest house itself is beautifully surrounded by a variety of plants, vibrant vineyard fields, and an antique touch to the place, blending rustic charm with modern amenities, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Although the room was quite simple, after a day of exploring the surrounding area it still provided us a comfortable sanctuary. One of the highlights of our stay was the delightful dinner and wine tasting. It was followed by Luis's detailed description, full of profound knowledge, about their outstanding wine and their cherished winery. As I listened to him talk, I could feel the love he has for his profession and the work that he does daily to keep the grapes healthy and thriving, therefore, to have the most flavorful wine. And of course, I have to mention the friendly dogs who accompanied us the next day on our tour of the vineyard as our most trusted guides. Overall, our stay at Quinta Da Estrada was more than pleasant. The combination of warmth, comfort, and picturesque surroundings made it an unforgettable family getaway. We eagerly look forward to returning to this little slice of paradise in the future! Warm greetings from Latvia to Luis!

The host, Luis, and his staff were so kind and welcoming. We did the wine tasting with the sumptuous dinner the first night after we walked the vineyard and sat on our rooftop deck to watch the sunset. Luís gave us a full education about the wine and port of the region that lasted about an hour. The wines were amazing. Some of the best I’ve had. And the ports were equally delicious. The glasses were full for dinner as well! He gave us recommended routes for a day trip to views and wineries. Many required reservations but we went to Quinta das Caravalhas and had a wonderful tasting there as well.

Everything. The location is beautiful, the breakfast is very good, dishes that accompany wine tasting are delicious, staff is friendly and tries to fulfill every wish, the pool is great to cool off, rooms and beds are big. We stayed for three nights and we could easily stay several more.
It was quite hot at night, so we would appreciate having air-con. There were no mosquito nets, but luckily also no mosquitos. As we travel with kids, we like to have some food with us, so a small fridge would come handy. - I am sure the staff would put our food in their fridge if we asked, but we didn't bother.

A lovely peaceful place for a short stay. Our room was large, clean and comfy. It had a good view from the room and balcony. The quinta has a lovely little pool, with loungers, chairs and tables alongside, and beautiful views across the vineyard and countryside around. The dogs loved attention but equally happy to ignore you if you're not a dog fan. The wine tasting and dinner are recommended. Luis explained how wine production works, not only on his quinta, but across the Douro Valley which was very interesting. The wines and food were excellent.
There was a kettle but no cups in our room to make coffee we discovered in the morning.

We highly recommend staying at this peaceful country setting in a working farm atmosphere. Luis, the 7th or 8th generation owner, is so knowledgeable and more than happy to share the history of the Douro Valley wines and Port over an exceptional dinner and multiple glasses of high quality bottles. We loved our walk through the vineyards in the company of the farm dogs and waking up to the country scenery and a deliciuos breakfast delivered to our room. Luis and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. Trust your GPS, as it takes you right to the front gate.
Not a big deal, but we could hear people in the loft above us at times.
