We have stayed at the Miracorgo before. It is a lovely comfortable hotel in the centre of town, close to the many restaurants and bars but far enough away to be unaffected by noise. The staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. My husband had lost his motorcycle gloves and the very nice man at reception was able to locate a shop for us. There was also a very nice lady at reception who gave us information about the valley walkway (visible from the hotel) so we could make the walk NB good shoes required! There is a good bar in the hotel and the nice man in charge was also very helpful. The pool area was good too. Underground pool with outside sunbeds and towels provided.

Having to leave!

This is my second stay at the Miracorgo. Although a large hotel it doesn't feel souless - just a quietly well-run hotel. Fantastic position with lovely views of the forest, pleasant rooms with really comfy beds and pillows. Friendly and helpful staff from cleaners to reception.

Breakfast was varied but the same every day, which I understand when most guests stay for a few days, but as we stayed for 10 days a little variety in the cooked breakfast would've been welcomed. Scambled eggs every day!

Our Standard double room with small balcony & breakfast was great, we had a spectacular view of the Rio Corgo Gorge which was enhanced at night by floodlights. Our room came with breakfast, a comfortable bed, air conditioning, shower over the bath, TV, wardrobes and a small fridge. The balcony was large enough for us both to sit outside and enjoy an afternoon beverage. The hotel has 2 indoor pools the larger being 16 metres long, a very well equipped modern gym and outdoor sun leaners on the terrace and by the pool. The staff were great, very accommodating to our needs and friendly. We based ourselves here to visit the Douro Valley (no car) and being an easy 900 metre walk to the bus station to get to Regua, the valley and the MiraDouro Train made that easy. Great location.

- Breakfast was not exciting. The hotel could do much better if they make some effort to promote regional products (which they didn't). - Also the breakfast room needs some upgrading. It only has very large tables (perhaps oriented to big groups) but not convenient for couples or even families.

The hotel, while a bit older, is very well maintained and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and the free underground parking was appreciated. Breakfast included all the essentials such as scrambled eggs, a selection of breads, fruits, pastries, cheese, coffee etc. We really liked the location as it is a 5 min walk to centre of town and many restaurants. Also the view from our room was excellent as it overlooked the river valley behind the hotel. The bathroom was also nice, clean and worked well. Overall, a great stay

The room was a bit on the warm side as the heating was still active and the system hadn't been switched over to AC. There was a window in the room but not having bug screens we chose not to open the window but shut off the heating system instead.

When I booked in I was told I had 2 reservations paid up for the same dates. This did not seem possible but the hotel reception cancelled one of these. I am not sure if I was due some sort of refund due to this as It may have accidently been paid twice. I am hoping the hotel will look into what happened here and come back to me by email. Lighting in rooms could have been improved.

A good stay in a very clean property. The hotel is definitely in need of updating but it was exceptionally clean and comfortable and perfect for passing through for the night. Free parking onsite. Close location to local restaurants and shops. The included breakfast was great, with many options. Although we didn’t use the facilities, the pool area and gym looked great. Staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Parking was on location, covered garage. Drive in /drive out-no fuss

Breakfast was weak. Warm water for tea. No black tea. no cut fruit. Whole fruit. No gluten free bread. Scrambled eggs .

Family member was in hospital in Vila Real so it was handy for that and near to restaurants bars and shops with spectacular scenery at the rear. All staff were efficient and helpful. Breakfast was very good with good choice.

No hospitality tray in the room with tea coffee etc. No English breakfast tea option at breakfast.

this hotel is managed and run perfectly throughout the years, i love coming back to this place the rooms, the pool, the view, the bar, the members of hotel staff, everything is great, you can feel a wonderful heritage of this place, whether you are coming as a family for a vacation or you travel solo for work thank you, miracorgo
