Good location. Bar staff who also covered the restaurant and housekeeping (in the evening) were excellent and very helpful.

Only complaint was the rooms were too hot as the a/c was not functional, yet during the day it was 34 degrees C. At night this was an issue as we had an open balcony and were concerned about leaving the door open. We were advised the heating had not been switched over - suggest with global warming checks are made on weather forecast and changes made accordingly. Booking.com write up clearly states rooms have a/c.

What a location! Sitting above the Douro river you can't help but be impressed with the view. Even though the weather was poor our appreciation of the property and the tasteful modern design more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend it.

The staff were a little more aloof than what we have experienced so far in Portugal. We put it down to them not being as articulate in English as staff in other Hotels in more cosmopolitan areas. There just wasn't the same degree of enthusiasm and welcome as elsewhere. Our food was only adequate, steak had to go back and should have gone back a second time for the same reason. Just a little lack of attention to detail. This shouldn't put anyone off though.

The rooms are huge, the beds are very comfortable, the view from the room is gorgeous. The restaurant in the hotel is simply excellent. Don't miss dinner there.

The pool is indoor and not really inviting. The towels are in the lobby (3 floors above the pool) it's a bit ridiculous. There is nothing to do outside the hotel. The place itself is deserted. We need a car.

Clean cozy room with beautiful view. Good breakfast with enough choices. We had dinner at the restaurant. The food was very good. The location is very close to the town. Just a shout walk cross the bridge. There are plenty of free parking space just out side the hotel.

The breakfast serving could be improved.

Very Family friendly, great customer services and excellent location for those who needs a great place to go back to after exploring and driving around the region. Good breakfast too

Parking on the street was the only thing i did not like much, but it did not bother me as much as it bothered other travelers.

Great location with lovely views of the river, rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Spa is a bit sparse, missing a sauna and water jets in the indoor pool. Breakfast could also be improved... orange juice at 8:30 was completely separated. My room seemed to be a disabled room which they didn't tell me about , and the shower was quite narrow perhaps because of the space they need to leave for wheelchairs. Bit pricey also.

Location was convenient for us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clear labelling of allergen/contents at meals. Excellent selection of gluten-free foods on the menu.

Newer rooms have an unusual bathroom layout.

Great facilities and position with excellent food

Playing loud music in the bedroom corridors until 10.20 at night when I asked reception to switch them off. It made having a sleep inn the afternoon after a long drive impossible and the staff said they could not turn it down.

Good breakfast and very good dinner, stuff very helpful and very gentle Very clean and great location with beautiful Douro view We will come back, we really loved everything

Nice hotel with wonderful view over the river, bridges and the town. The wellness was nice, the stuff always professional. Definitely recommending the restaurant, food was amazing.

It was a little bit annoying that we couldn't reserve a dinner one evening due to very limited capacity and that we had to make reservation even for a buffet breakfast but that is understandable due to stuff capacity.
