Delfim Douro Hotel was in one word Fantastic, even with a minor incident, what the staff directly and very professional corrected. The moment you walk in, the staff is there. With all the friendly help and the pre-checking was quickly. Everything was in my eyes perfect. We loved also that the hotel helped employees with a handicap, to see the Hotel is not afraid to have employee in a in the wheelchair, who solved our little problem with all the professionalism you can get. The restaurant was great, good food for a decent price, good variety wine and loved the desert, Florest chocolate, you have to try it. :-)

The view from this hotel is amazing, and its just offset enough from town views to be just right. The hotel public spaces are nicely done. Rooms are comfortable, albeit basic. Staff at front desk is great.

The balconies are to a degree nonfunctional for proper enjoyment of the view unless you are standing, in that they have one low level deck chair and no space for other seating, and view from deck chair is not ideal due to placement of rail above glass balcony wall. Plus you are right next to each other and zero privacy when on the balcony. If there are two or more of you, you won't be enjoying the balcony at one time. A generally strange set up for a balcony where the aim is to look at one of the most beautiful places in the world. The dinner at this hotel is overpriced and was simply horrible food- we never had a meal this poor in this country.

I loved the pool area with chairs and umbrellas, wonderful view, and bar service of a portotonic (first time!) served with a smile. The pool was lovely to swim in after a long, hot day. And the staff were so very nice! We also really enjoyed walking down to the river on the very steep path among the vines. I also really appreciated the room change in the last minute so I could be next to my friends. Exceptional service!

The hotel is very clean and comfortable with great views from the room and a delicious breakfast. What really makes this hotel stand out though is its phenomenal staff. Every last person was so accommodating and seemingly happy to do everything they could to make our stay memorable.

The breakfast was great and the table view was fabulous! The view from our bedroom was spectacular as well.

We would have loved to have eaten at the hotel, but the menu was limited for my daughter who cannot have gluten items. The staff made an excellent recommendation to another local restaurant, though.

Based on the south bank high above the Douro, the rooms, each with a private balcony offer amazing views over the river. We were checked in and attended by a professional team. The beds were massive and comfortable. We had a really good buffet breakfast and dined in the restaurant at night. The food was well presented and the restaurant seemed to attract non-residential bookings as well as people staying. The drive the following day along the river to Pinhao was truly spectacular.

The restaurant was a little pricey. That said the location is a bit away from the alternatives in the towns of Peso da Regua or Lamego high in the hills.

Exception service and a beautiful location overlooking the river valley and vineyards. Alex spent a lot time with us explaining the different things we could do in the area with maps and great suggestions. Room was very comfortable And cleans the breakfast was amazing ! The best hotel so far on our stay !!!!

Beautiful hotel in a great position. The staff were all amazing and very attentive. Everything very clean. Food was amazing.

The large window into the toilet. Even with the blind you can see right into the bathroom. Not sure if that is just a suite thing or in every room.

Excellent and friendly service. We went there late but the hotel restaurant was still waiting for us and served us dinner. We hung out at the bar. Very relaxing. The river view was spectacular. We walked around the hotel early in the morning and had the perfect sunrise view above the river. Will stay again.

The staff is amazing! Very good restaurant and wonderful service. Rooms are surprisingly spacious. Castelbel toiletries— a local Portuguese brand. Front desk organized a day trip for us, which was fabulous. The views from this hotel are breathtaking. Breakfast is delicious, lots of local selections and fresh fruit. Perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. The bar is fantastic, we ate every evening meal on site three days in a row. It was that good, and we are generally picky. We are already talking about coming back again. Linda and Vanessa were two of our favorites.
