The location is a bit challenging if you want to go out for dinner or wine tasting; it’s a €5 cab into town … but considering how inexpensive the rooms are it’s still better value than staying in town. Wish the rooms had shears rather than just heavy curtains. The place looks a bit sketchy from the outside but it’s much nicer inside.

Our host, Andre, was exceptional. Polite, helpful and always available. Do not be put off by the external appearance of the building, nor the entry area, both of which are uninviting but shared with the rest of the building. Once you at at the hotel -walk up one flight of stairs at the rear- the hotel itself is modern, minimalistic and pleasant to occupy. Breakfast was also more than adequate and Andre provided me with GF bread rolls. Many thanks.

The staff were very attentive and ready to help with any inconvenience we had. The cleaning service was exceptional. The elevators and stairs had a very good security system. In the buffet, you have to try the chocolate cake - it's divine. And the bed was very comfortable.

There's an evangelical church or something below us that had incredibly loud music until pretty late in the evening which disturbed us. The wifi service didn't work for us during the first three days of our stay (we were there for work), so that was highly inconvenient. But the staff did everything they could and by the end of our stay it was indeed functional.

Very friendly staff. Simple but clean permises. Good breakfast (for the price). Room and bathroom sizes were OK, eventually bigger than you would expect in this kind of hotel. There's a supermarket nearby.

The surrounding area is not nice looking, and the hotel is far away from Regua's city center. Check-in has a limited schedule.

The young lady on reception was exceptionally good, very friendly and gave us lots of information. The room was well appointed for a one night stay with a very comfortable bed and great shower with soaps provided. The room itself was clean. The inclusive breakfast was amazing, ham, cheese, fruit, cereal, breads and toast, cakes and more with limitless coffee or tea .

We chose a room with a balcony but although it was a good size it was very dirty and had loose or missing tiles . And the chairs were dirty too.

Our stay on Residencial Douro was amazing. Suzana was a wonderful staff, always ready to help and super friendly. The room is fantastic, so big and with a wall between the double bed and the single bed. The balcony is huge and has an amazing view. The location was super as well, very close to the Rio Douro and easy for a nice walk through the river. The city center is ~10 / 15min away, what was very ok for a walk through the city. It's also a very safe place. I highly recommend this place

We stayed only one night, but the room was good, with a big balcony, and the host was very nice. There were parking spots near the property and a big supermarket close by.

Very friendly staff (perfect communication, fast response, clear information). The room, beddings extremely clean. Good value for money. Good breakfast. You can easily find parking place for your car.

Though the building looks the old fashioned from the first sight (navigation shows this building as the church :), as it is really on the ground floor), the premisses inside turned to be rather modern and nice. Great stay!

Don't let the entrance put you off,once up the stairs to the accommodation it's very nice. Out room was large with a balcony. Bathroom was clean with towels soap, shampoo. A kettle would have been handy. Breakfast was a bit limited choice wise but was adequate. Overall a nice room in a beautiful town.

Location ideal as there is parking close by. View from our room good. Entrance to building much improved.

Under new management. The staff are friendly and helpful when they are there. However, for a large part of the day no staff are present. This poses a potential problem with key fobs being left in room. The key fobs also provide the access to the building. My partner found it cold and impersonal.
