- One of the cheapest options I found for this location - No one bothered us at all during the entire staying, it felt like we were alone in the house all night - Host was super nice to us (even while having a bit of a language barrier) - Everything was nice and clean (room, shared bathroom, kitchen, even the smoking area) (and had pretty decorations :P) - We got the keys to our room, apartment door and building door, and so we were able to get in and out of the house at will - In the closet there was also a heater and a fan (the 1st came in handy during the night) - Host made us a beautiful breakfast (even when we weren't that hungry and just had some coffee haha)

- The beds were a little noisy (still comfortable to sleep in, just made some noise if we moved around a bit) - I could only stay for one night :(

We loved the free breakfast and the attention to detail put into this. The room was big, bed was comfortable, cupboard space for belongings, jug for water, double windows with shutters helped block out traffic noise. The kitchen had everything needed for preparing own meals and the common area and balcony was such a nicely furnished and comfortable space. The owner of this property was so so lovely, so attentive and welcoming. He greeted you always with a smile and wanted to ensure we were the most comfortable. The parking underneath the building provided a stress free solution to keep our hire car whilst we explored the city - a short metro ride or about 15 minutes walk.

Good location near tram stop and good supermarket across the road. Local cafes and restaurants very good value. The host was lovely and prepared nice breakfast every day. Loved chatting to different travellers at breakfast time.

Black mould around shower tray fairly bad. We stayed nine nights and room wasn’t cleaned or bin emptied once. We paid for private bathroom but on last two nights someone else was using it too!!

1. The host - Sanjay is kind-hearted, friendly, attentive, approachable, and accommodating. He keeps the place so neat and clean. He manages the place do well. 2. Location - just steps from the metro that will take you to Porto centre in 2 or 3 stops. Many very affordable and delicious restaurant options in walking distance. Supermarket across the street. The area is more local than touristy. So it's peaceful and quiet. Safe. 3. Room - bed is big and comfortable. Pillows are not flat. Lots of natural light enters the room. The room is so spacious. The private balcony was so convenient for my husband to smoke. He always kept the balcony door closed so the smoke never enters the room. The bathroom is bright, modern, clean and very spacious. The private bathroom is outside the room but you will be given a key to lock it so other guests can't use it. 4. The property - it is located within an apartment building and takes up half of the 2nd floor. There is an elevator. The unit itself is quite large. I felt at home. The Guests were quiet or there is sufficient sound proofing.

Nothing. We had a wonderful time. Tip for future guests: there is no outside signage. You can't tell there is a bed and breakfast is here from the outside. make sure you notify the property or host what time you will arrive and check in. The host will let you in the building.

Very friendly and accommodating host, a bit outside the busy party areas which allowed for a really quiet sleep. Right next to the metro line (but couldn't hear it from the room). Really good breakfast provided. Excellent communication from the host. The bed was really comfy and the facility was clean. I felt really comfortable with my stay here.

No A/C (But provided a really good fan which worked really well). Recommend the room with the attached bathroom.

We have been to Porto 3 times. This really is the best place to stay, just 20 minutes away on foot from Ribeira. The place was impeccably clean. Not every 5-star hotel can compete. The host was very kind, attentive and helped us a lot. Breakfast was really nice. The room was large, the bed was comfy, huge balcony was a nice addition. We liked everything, hope to come back one day. Moreover, El Corte Ingles is just 5 mins away which makes it perfect for shopaholics :) Thank you to Sanjay for his hospitality.

I stayed at Origami for the second time this year and it was again a very nice experience. The nicest thing - and a surprise - was that the host remembered me and gave me the same room as in May, what made me feel almost like home. The room itself is spacious and bright, with big and comfortable bed. Private bathroom is outside the room, but very clean, with big shower, toiletries and hair dryer. Breakfasts are included in the price and they're a great advantage, as you don't have to waste time for preparing them yourself. The food is fresh and tasty and you can arrange time of breakfast according to your needs. Hostel is located right by the metro station, 10 minutes walking from Jardim do Morro, with many cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. Definitely I'll be back! 🙂

Absolutely fantastic - one of the best places we have ever stayed in. The host is a really nice, friendly and caring person, and stayed and chatted with us and another guest for ages while we were having breakfast. The room was lovely and the WiFi excellent (I needed it for work), but best of all was the breakfast, which was varied, generous and copious - and as an added bonus the host went out specially to get fresh bread. In fact I ought to explain, in response to people who have said they didn't like the breakfast being available from a fixed time, that this is because that is when the bakery opens!! I don't mind waiting a few minutes for my breakfast if the reward is fresh, warm bread! The apartment is also close to the centre of Porto and the amazing bridge over the Douro river - a 15-minute walk or a 3-minute cheap tram ride. It is in a residential block with an underground car park, which was great because we had a rental car and didn't want it to get damaged by being parked on the street. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Porto (and I hope we do!). Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Very good value for money. The owner is really nice and helpful. The breakfast is small but very nicely presented and enough to start the day. There is the possibility to use the kitchen. Very well located in front of the metro station and across a supermarket. Cafeterias and restaurants are within a few 100 meters.

It was clear that the bathroom was outside the room, but it was not clear that it was shared. Some rooms have their own bath inside, some have an own bath outside, some share the bathroom. The room was a a bit small.

Recently stayed at this hotel and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere is super chill, perfect for meeting fellow travelers. The breakfast is delicious and filling, a great way to start the day. What makes this place stand out is the owner. Always up for a chat and ready to guide you to the best spots in the city. His local insights made my stay memorable. Can't wait to come back, highly recommend this place!
