Fantastic location with easy access to Porto and Gaia and great views. Lovely breakfast with good choice for vegetarians. Nice rooms - if a little small (especially the room with an extra bed). Pool was nice spot at the end of a day sightseeing. Staff were very obliging and pleasant.

The pool itself was in need of a makeover. In a hotel which was exceptionally clean and stylish throughout, this was the one area that looked a little neglected. The pool bar area was very pleasant so I preferred to sit by the pool not in the pool. Although it was rare to find a lounger free, there were always soft chairs available whenever I visited and often deckchairs. Also, it was very convenient to be able to exit the hotel at floor 14 (getting immediately to the upper bridge) and floor 1 (getting to the lower bridge/Gaia/Ribeira area) however it should be noted that the path from the floor 1 exit to the bridge was fairly steep and cobbled, without a pavement for some of the way and so may not be accessible for everyone.

The location is unbeatable! It is worth paying for the room with a view as it is really special. The views from the pool bar and the upstairs bar / restaurant are really incredible. Very romantic hotel. You can just walk out and be on the bridge which is amazing. Also you can get a lift down do the lower level for the bridge which is very helpful for going out in the day ! The rooms are very clean and housekeeping standard great. Front of house staff/reception are very friendly and when our air conditioning stopped working temporarily the manager sorted it straight away and gave us some sweet treats which was a lovely personal touch. I would definitely stay again.

I would expect the service at a luxury 4 star hotel to be better - at breakfast I often had to remind the staff several times we had requested simple items like milk and you had to signal to staff at the bars for attention/ service which I think is poor. Breakfast was nice for pastries/ fruit etc but the cooked food ( eg scrambled eggs / potatoes) was under-par and not as nice as the other hotels we had been at which were 3 star! We had waffles one morning and they were undercooked. They also do not make it clear the upstairs bar closes at 18:30 which meant a lot of people were sitting unaware for a while ( and also they are missing a trick as lots of people would like a drink there !).

Good location right next to the bridge by Jardim Morro in Gaia. Excellent breakfast, stunning view of the river and bridge from the room, very comfy and large bed. Beautiful room in near flawless condition. The restaurant and bar we're equally nice. Overall a great experience!

The only real negative: Pool maintenance should be improved, it was not really clean and looked uninviting. Some more nitpicks: Temperature control and pressure in the shower was inconsistent and slightly annoying. One outlet by the bed did not work.

Amazing location with incredible views of the river and bridge and easy access to Porto just across the bridge. Our room description was “partial city view” but I was delighted we could see the river from our widow. Fabulous breakfast, lovely staff, very comfortable room and tastefully decorated in modern art deco style.

Pool is unheated and quite small (but still usable) and the gym is very small too and not well equipped so my son didn’t use it. A little noisy at night till about 12/1am due to party venues along the river but it didn’t bother us too much

This hotel was my favorite stay during our sixteen days of travel throughout Spain and Portugal. The location is incredible! I loved the fact that there are pedestrian entrances to the hotel at the upper or lower tiers of the bridge. The room was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic! We were able to park our car in the garage and had no trouble getting to the hotel. I absolutely loved that we could fully open the windows!

I regret not eating the pasteis de nata left for us in the room, but without a note, I wasn't sure if they were complimentary or something I would be charged for later.

We stayed in Porto for four nights and loved this hotel - originally I was searching for somewhere in the Ribeiro area but I’m so glad I switched last minute to Gaia. Perfect location - best views and a few minutes walk over the bridge to the centre. In addition, I’ll be looking for Vincci hotels next time I travel - just wonderful customer service and very high quality accomodation with a relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful bars to watch the sunset, fantastic dinner in the restaurant and one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. Loved the Clarins products in bathroom and best Portuguese tarts and Port sample on arrival in our room. I didn’t see another place in Porto I’d rather stay.

Excellent place to stay. The hotel decor is modern and the room - 12th floor- had an excellent view of Porto and the historical bridge. They have a small parking garage- requires a reservation. The property is uniquely situated right next to the bridge. A ten minute walk over the historical bridge, which spans the Douro river, and you are in Porto’s old world. Many of the famous attractions are within walking distance. Have some very good walking shoes. If you stay on the hotel’s side of the river then you have the famous wine attractions to visit. The breakfast was excellent. Directly above the property is the monastery where you catch a breathtaking sunset.

Nothing negative to say

Stunning reception at high level of Luis bridge (this is floor 14), and then restaurant and roof terrace immediately below down to floor 10 all with breathtaking views. Then Guest rooms are beneath on levels 10 down to 1 and cascade down the steep hillside towards the riverside. Useful exit too at level 1 to access riverside areas both sides of the Duoro. The guest rooms are stylish and comfortable. Windows are only small as its a historic converted Port warehouse but they still give stunning river views. The bar roof terrace complete with plunge pool was a unique feature and an enjoyable place to relax. Lots of interest from Onlookers walking the bridge as its looked down on slightly from the high level walkway and modern tram line just above. But not an issue. Dinner was excellent the night we ate in the hotel restaurant. The hotel's location is great for exploring both sides of the river.

Small point in bathroom where I saw some orange build up starting of body fat where shower tray meets tiling, at the base of the shower door or behind handbasin tap. Small but I notice such things. Just needs some bleach and a scrub to avoid build up. Otherwise Excellent level of cleanliness throughout the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful. On the other side of the river with a fantastic view of the iron bridge and Porto. There are lots of common areas where you can sit comfortably. The breakfast room also has a wonderful view of the bridge. The breakfast itself is delicious. The hotel is close to a park and many restaurants along the harbour. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.

We booked a room with a view of the bridge but you only really get a partial view because some roofs are in the way. You can pay extra to get a better view. The rooms, considering the price, are not big, and the armchairs uncomfortable.

Made our whole trip, amazing. We are coming back for sure. The private elevator to bottom of the bridge is key.

Pool area service could be improved. They are all hands on it and they are very hardworking but given the status of the hotel, there are some service details that in my opinion need attention. You usually have to get up to order because they are always busy, orders usually take too long and for food sometimes more than 40 minutes. When ordering cups of wine, they come with the cups on the hand - the wine needs to be served from the bottle in front of you and with at least some sort of coaster. When asking about the food, for example they did not have enough info to sell it. We asked what kinds of cheese did the table come with and they did not know. When served, they did not explain it either. The pool also sometimes looks like it is not properly oxigenated/cleaning itself.
