Location was excellent, a short walk from the beach and a short drive to shopping centres. Rooms were nice and spacious with comfortable beds. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Bottled water in the room isn't free ($8) and they manage to put this in very tiny font which I think is rather dodgy. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

My three-night stay at The Gates Hotel was a truly delightful experience. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Marcia for the wonderful check-in experience she provided. Our group consisted of seventeen people, and she ensured the check-in process was exceptionally smooth. I particularly appreciated the hotel's convenient location, which allowed for easy walking access to various destinations and proximity to the beach. I would certainly consider staying here again if I were to return to South Beach.

Improvement Points: •The cost of beverages and meals is somewhat high, although this is not entirely unexpected given the hotel's location. •It has been noted in other reviews, but the shower water pressure appeared to be quite low. At certain times, it seemed as though there might be an issue, but it was simply the way it was. I would suggest that this be looked into to prevent further complaints from other guests.

Location was perfect to explore south beach whilst being in a quiet area. Right next to the free trolley bus stop which made exploring really easy. Plenty of places to eat within an easy 5min walk. Hotel was spotless, good bar. Lobby area was great, plenty of comfy seats and a pool table. Lots of cool activities put on by the hotel, like a comedy night, games etc.

Pool area is very popular, don't expect to get a sunbed. It does have plenty of shady seating though.

Simon on reception is very nice and very helpful. There is another lady on reception when we checked in, sorry didn't get her name, but she was also very very helpful and helped me sort out a car hire issue we had with Avis. Thanks to all the staff, including the nice gentleman who helped bring our bags to our room, he was very nice and well. Thanks to all the staff for everything over our 2 stays here. Thanks especially to housekeeping who make a very nice towell birthday cake display on our bed for my wife's birthday. It was so nice and kind of everyone. Rooms were clean and big enough. Beds were very comfortable. Location of hotel was good. They also have 1 hour free electric bike hire that was excellent.

They wanted $20 per item per night to keep some of our luggage while we're on our cruise for 4 days, even though we were returning to stay with them for another night when we returned. The bike hire was only free for one hour which went faster than you'd expect and it was $15 dollars per hour if you went over the first hour so you need to watch your time.

We enjoyed our stay at the Gates Hotel. Valet parking was available and worked out well. The restaurant on site was nice to have if you didn't want to go out in the neighbourhood to eat. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. The pool area was very nice and had a variety of options for lounging which was nice.

When we first arrived we had to enter through the back door access as there was some construction going on out front, I needed to call the hotel to figure this out, there was no email or notice of this. There was some construction going on inside and out of the hotel which was a little disruptive as they were painting the driveway one day and we couldn't get access to the electric bike rental. We had a minor booking issue with our room and were assigned a different room than we had booked but it was quickly fixed for the next day and we were given a free breakfast and upgraded lounge access around the pool.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found its location to be absolutely perfect. Situated within walking distance to all the major attractions, it made exploring the city a breeze. What I appreciated even more was that it was on the quieter end of the strip. This meant that despite being close to all the action, I could still enjoy a peaceful night's sleep without any disturbances. It's the best of both worlds - convenience and tranquility. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-located and peaceful stay!

While my stay at the hotel was overall pleasant, I must admit I was a bit disappointed by the 4 pm check-in time. After a long journey, I was eager to settle into my room and start exploring the city. However, having to wait until late afternoon felt like a significant inconvenience, especially considering that many other hotels offer earlier check-in times. It would have been much more convenient and accommodating to have the option for an earlier check-in, even if it came with a small fee. Hopefully, the hotel management will consider adjusting their policies to better accommodate the needs of their guests in the future.

I stayed at the Gates Hotel just for one night, short time though. The position was really at the center, close to the main streets on foot (Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, Espanola Way and so on). Also there is a free trolley bus (the stop is outside the Hotel), which connects you easily to the center. The Hotel has also a swimming pool and a concierge, really nice view from the room, staff was kind and polite, room was clean and there was all the necessary.

There was no porterage service, so you have to bring the luggages in the room on your own. We just realized there that we had no breakfast included. So we decided to have breakfast there anyway and it costed us around 60doll for 2 omelette and 2 orange juices, but still it was good but a bit expensive :).

You can tell it is an older hotel. The lights in the room were hard to figure out. For example, you could not turn on the light switch in the bathroom without turning on all the lights in the room. Also, there was only one really small trash can in the room. Lastly, I was advised by the front desk staff that we should call them about 30 min before we planned to check out so our vehicle would be ready to go. The issue was the phone in the room did not have a button for the front desk and zero did not work. I had to leave my room and use the phone by the elevators to reach the front desk. The whole thing was inconvenient.

My family loved the pool area. The room was a good size with ample space to store luggage. The closet was large as well as the bathroom. The art work throughout the building was amazingl Front dest staff were friendly.

Many times, the key card did not work in the elevator and one had to stand in line (sometimes for 15min) waiting for the front desk to reactivate the card. The cleaning staff did not always come to clean our room and sometimes it was not cleaned well at all.

Staff were very pleasant and we liked the pool area. Use of the water/ice machines in the corridors was helpful in a very warm climate. The rooms we had were good and the beds were very comfortable. 5/10 walk from Miami beach.

the restaurant was closed while we were there. We would have liked o have had the option of onsite breakfast or lunch. Its slightly away from the action down on 5th, which is a good 25/30 minute walk in the heat.
