Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach and Golf Resort

Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach and Golf Resort is a 4-star beachfront retreat in Rio Grande Hills, Puerto Rico. Breakfast is offered, and the resort features a casino, a restaurant, and lively live music performances near the outdoor pool and shoreline.

Addressing location and guest feedback, the property sits at 6000 Rio Mar Blvd, about 6mi from the city center and has 634 reviews. Price starts from $284.

Easy essentials include a free airport shuttle and free WiFi, with a beachfront setting and an outdoor pool (free). On-site options like casino, restaurant, and live music complement conveniences such as private parking (extra charges), spa (extra charges), water sports on site (extra charges), golf course (extra charges), and meeting/banquet facilities (extra charges).

Four outdoor pools line the tropical grounds, all adults‑only and open year‑round, inviting sun‑soaked lounging with a sea breeze. The beachfront setting in Rio Grande puts sand and surf within easy reach, while the resort’s lively energy makes for relaxed days and memorable sunsets. It’s easy to imagine evenings unfolding by the shoreline as the music and atmosphere mingle with the waves.

On‑site dining covers a broad pallet: Marbella Restaurant serves American and International fare in a family‑friendly, traditional, or modern vibe; Iguanas Cocina Puertorriquena delivers local flavors in a setting that spans family‑friendly, traditional, modern, and romantic moods; Roots Coastal Kitchen pairs American, Caribbean, pizza, and international bites for casual meals; 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill offers American fare for laid‑back lunches and evenings; Tiki Hut & Pool Bar brings Caribbean grill vibes poolside, and Caicu Bar and Tapas affords Latin American tapas with a modern, romantic touch. Palio Seafood and Steakhouse and Barista Cafe are temporarily closed, so other dining options help keep the rotation lively.

Evenings glow with live music near the outdoor pool and shoreline, adding a festive soundtrack to luxe tropical moments. The casino adds a hint of nightlife for when the mood strikes, and there are spaces for gatherings with meeting/banquet facilities. For those seeking extra options, on‑site extras include a spa, water sports, and a golf course, all available for an additional fee, along with private parking to help keep the vacation easy from start to finish.

nice resort, beach is pretty, clean

cant believe you need to pay extra for tennis for all you are paying. one of the hot tubs stopped being hot during our stay. in general the restaurants were not that great and over priced and the service was mediocre while expecting us to tip on everything. I'd prefer an all inclusive experience or better price for value

I loved the location, the facilities, the views, the convenience of having restaurants on the property and the sizes of the rooms. Apart from the personnel which was helpful and friendly. Beautiful place in general!!!

It may need some updating. The bathroom and the bathtub was kind of rusted and the floors too. The coffee machine was dirty and the room have a musty smell. Also the pools may need some updating too, the floors of the pool all seen damaged!!!

I loved staying here with my daughter. We stayed there because it’s near the el yunque rainforest. The location is excellent ! It’s right on the beach and has a few great pools if you don’t want the sand , great for walking up and down the beach. They welcome you very kindly , they had live Caribbean music. We saw the musician. We had good meals and relaxed and had a beautiful room overlooking the ocean. Definitely would go back. They seem to have activities for children, they had ping-pong tables, and billiards. The casino was closed for renovation, which would’ve been nice The only downfall is it’s very costly

The breakfast was (as always) incredible!! My dad was delighted with the food, the fruits and the variety of fresh juices! The staff was spectacular! thank you Joanne for a fantastic service with warmth and smiles galore! a special thank you to Magda Williams who keeps us coming year after year and for making our stays always amazing! -We will be back next year and maybe this year for another quick getaway!

We reserved a pool view and it was not available... though I reconfirmed 2 days earlier... no one mentioned it until we arrived. Communication should have been a bit better... but otherwise all was good and room was good overall.

The pools, amenities, casino, which we thought would be open and golf courses as well as restaurants.

I wasn’t told until I booked and was about to leave the week of the trip that the casino was under construction until June. This was one of the reasons I booked this resort. In addition, it was constant construction noise and sounds being heard in the room as well as in the pool when you’re trying to relax. The music was not loud enough to overpower it. Lastly, everything was extremely overpriced and expensive for even basic things. And for a resort this large with this many amenities, including a spa, it should offer a hospitality room if needed for changing or freshening up.

The beach is awesome and they let you swim at your own risk rather than Prevent you from swimming if the waves are big. Restaurants were good, food quality was high, and we don't always say that about other resorts. Breakfast was very high quality. We got a Cabana which was worth it.

Hopefully the construction is done soon and the new pools open up, but we were there between christmas and new years and there was enough room on the beach and pools. They did get somewhat packed mid-afternoon, but it wasn't like the resorts where you have to get your chair by 9AM. Food service at the pool was slow, but then again, we were there new years week.

The staff was exceptional and was always there to help in any way possible. Extremely easy check in process, the valet was always quick and accommodating. The breakfast staff was also great! We did not go the pool bars too often, but when we did the drinks were good and bartenders were friendly. I think the staff really was the shinning star of the resort.

We had an issue with our AC in our room, so the 1st night was really bad. They came the 2nd day to fix the AC, but by the time we got back it was too late to say anything, so we got a 2nd night of bad sleep. On the 3rd day they moved us to another room which was very nice and comfortable. Unfortunately, all of our clothes were wet from being in the room for 2 days with the AC not working.

This was my second stay and I can't recommend this resort enough!!! The layout of the resort is superb. The pools and the great beach are a 5 minute walk from most rooms! The breakfast buffet is a great way to start your day. Service staff including Eduardo are excellent. Request a booth by the atrium windows to stare out at the turquoise ocean. Customer service overall is excellent. The relaxing pool with waterfall is a highlight. The Ocean golf course is enjoyable and reasonably priced. The premium rental clubs were appreciated! If you can book during a slower season for a great rate, this resort delivers great value! Only a short drive to the rainforest and adventure activities as well. A convenient 30-40 minutes to San Juan airport.

The property was gorgeous and well maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There was a nice selection of dining options on the property (they were expensive though). Pool side bar and food service was fantastic. We were given the option of locking in an upgrade from the hotel before we arrived- if the upgrade was available when we checked in we had to exercise the upgrade, and we did. We upgraded to a junior suite on the ground floor with a pool view. The room size was spacious. The rooms were clean and well maintained- we did notice a musty smell when visiting rooms on higher floors (we had family staying at the same time as us) not sure if that is typical? We also elected to pay for the breakfast - it may seem like an expensive upgrade but holy cow was it worth it. The absolute best breakfast I’ve ever had at a resort. Incredible options, fresh juices and pastries. Definitely include the breakfast, you won’t be disappointed. The rest of the hotel was great, well stocked gift shop in case you forgot anything. The beach was beautiful and cleaned every morning. The casino was fun. If you have kids, the hotel staff organized activities pool side intermittently that our daughter loved. The hotel itself is perfectly located for activities- short drive to the kiosks for great food, short drive to Fajardo (about 30 min) minutes to the rain forest.

The restaurants on site were pricey. If you’re not planning on leaving the resort, get the included breakfast and take advantage of it- we ended up skipping lunch most days and eating an earlish dinner.
