Everything! The location was perfect for me and I was so happy w/ the courtyard facing windows! It was spotless and beautifully furnished and decorated. Great bathroom, lots of space & light, wonderful bed. Large good refrigerator. The concierge (I’m sorry I cannot recall her name) was fantastic! Incredibly helpful, smart, I felt great confidence in her.

Two days ago, we came back from a family vacation in Bucharest — two adults and two kids. We stayed 5 nights at Matisse Bucharest Old Town, and what can I say? Just compliments! The apartment was absolutely beautiful, tastefully designed, and the entrance was a real wow! The room was spotless and perfectly organized. The kids' bed was already set up when we arrived. The location was perfect — right in the heart of the Old Town, next to all the restaurants. The hostess who welcomed us was very friendly and kind. Our room was in a very quiet part of the hotel — we didn’t hear a thing at night and were able to sleep peacefully without any disturbances. No doubt about it — I would definitely recommend this place to others! 😊

The lighting in the parents' bedroom was quite low, so that's one small thing I’d recommend improving. And maybe adding an oven glove :) Other than that — everything was truly perfect! 😊

We stayed at Matisse Old Town Bucharest for three nights as a group of three, celebrating our friend’s bachelorette party, and we couldn’t have made a better choice! From the beginning, communication was smooth and friendly. We had asked in advance for a small surprise for the bride-to-be — a bottle of wine and a card — and the team was more than happy to help. They even went out of their way to buy the card from Cărturești Carusel, which made it all the more special. The apartment and the room were spotlessly clean, and the location is perfect — right in the heart of Bucharest’s Old Town, with everything within walking distance. Everyone we dealt with was kind, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. Overall, we had a lovely experience and would definitely choose Matisse again in the future!

If I had to mention a couple of small downsides, the towels weren’t changed during our 3-day stay, and there was some noise from the street at night — though that’s quite common for such a central area.

This was such a good accommodation for our group booking. We traveled to Bucharest as a rugby team to go on tour to play a local side. The rooms were extremely spacious and provided everything we needed during our stay. Additionally, we requested for our rooms to be put close together and they kindly placed us all on the same floor. It was such a great experience, I really have no complaints!

Honestly, there isn't anything I can complain about here. The property was very accommodating and helpful for all of our travel needs.

The hotel itself is beautiful, classy with modern amenities, and a cosy, inviting atmosphere, exactly at the centre of the Old Town. But what truly sets this place apart is the people. The staff made us feel like valued guests, not just a room number. They anticipated all of our needs. It’s these personal touches that make all the difference. Kindness and professionalism like Bogan's and Alice's were truly outstanding and made our stay even more enjoyable. Matisse Bucharest Old Town was in the middle of a busy loud area but once we went inside the building it was super quiet. There is an ATM inside so that was great. The beds were super comfortable. The AC wasn’t turned on before our arrival - we did a late check in so that would have been much appreciated BUT in the end it didn’t matter because the rooms cooled down super fast.

It would be more appreciated if there was an extra set of bedding in the closet. The reception desk shows the hours of operation being 1100-1500 (or something around that time) BUT we never saw anyone at the reception desk. We didn’t really need anyone but it would have been nice to have someone there in case we had a question…

The location was great once we worked out; if we turned left out the front door, we would be beside the minimart and a coffee shop. When continued, if you take the first street right, you are in the heart of Old Town - Google just kept taking us the other way :-)

As much as we tried, we could not get the air conditioner to make the room cool in the bedroom. When we entered, the windows had been left open, but one of them didn't have a screen on it, so we had to fight off the mosquitoes at night. It would have been good to know the Minimart was right next door, as Google took us on an adventure when we went to pick up supplies of bread, milk, and coffee.

My husband and I stayed at the Matisse Old Town for 4 nights last week. We found the apartment spacious and comfortable, well equipped (although a microwave would have been welcome) and very centrally located on the edge of the old town within easy walking distance to the metro. Bogdan and Alice were very helpful, arranging for our baggage to be stored as we arrived several hours before check-in time. In particular, Alice went out of her way to purchase flowers, chocolates and sparkling wine which our daughters had asked to be in our room upon arrival to celebrate an anniversary! A big thank you to them for helping to make our stay memorable and super convenient. (Booking and paying for a “taxi” in advance for the trips to and from the airport through the Booking.com site added to a stress free trip. These “taxi” are in fact very nice sedans, arrived punctually, were more comfortable than yellow city ones, and better value.)

It was an excellent location for us. It was a short walk to many good restaurants and a few of the old town attractions. Easy access to the building and apt. Beautiful, large spaces, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Prompt and timely communications with very helpful and kind staff.

Bedroom was a little dim for me. Unfortunately, a music event close by took place on both nights we stayed that played such loud music until 6am that left us half rested. It is near the university and we always liked the energy and lively atmosphere it brings but untimely visit for us. I would still definitely recommend a stay!
