The rooms are upstairs and away from the restaurant downstairs. The bass from the country music playing can Tavel up, but it's turned off after the dinner service so you can get a good nights sleep. Our room - Apache - was a nice, size, clean, and very well equipped. We had a cot for our newborn provided, and there were ample freebies such as tea, coffee, and even hot chocolate and diary free milk alternatives - nice touch S&W! The mini bar was fully stocked though we didn't use it. I love that included in the wardrobe was an iron and ironing board, which made ironing my shirt quick and easy. We stayed for a wedding nearby and I'm glad we did, as we had a much better stay than our friends at the Travelodge! The room was immaculately clean, and the bathroom continued this trend. The breakfast was also fantastic, and you get a great amount included for what you pay, with only a small amount to pay additionally if you want some of the bigger options. We stayed for two nights and even ate dinner downstairs on the day we arrived, and it was great. They've nailed their niche and really do it well. Staff are friendly and all dressed for the part, and no expense has been spared in making the decor look as on theme as possible! I honestly wouldn't hesitate to stay again, or even just to pop in for food!

The music could be turned down in the restaurant earlier (10pm would be ideal).

We booked this hotel mainly due to the ample free parking and the location. The western theme isnt really my thing but we took the plunge and didnt regret it. The Restaurant below the hotel is huge and truly stunning, its all the western cowboy theme, the friendly staff all don full regalia, but thankfully getting involved is optional. Yes there is country music playing constantly, im no fan of it but it does enhance the experience. We opted for 2 nights in the hotel. The rooms tastefully carry the western vibe, they are spotlessly clean and the power shower is about as good as it gets. Mini-bar fridge and coffee machine keeps the standard high. The building was previously a railway station and is located adjacent to sainsbury's supermarket. The pantiles area of tunbridge is a 5 minute walk, its a good selection of street bars and restaurants, but it was a no brainer to give Smith and Western the benefit of our hard earned. We ordered the Ranchers feast, it was a sharing platter, with a full rack of ribs, chicken wings, prawns, corn, chips etc.etc. Needless to say, it wiped us both out (in a good way!) Happily no dreaded service charge and the 20% resident discount was an unexpected welcome surprise. Breakfast was included and you could order most things off the breakfast menu at no extra cost. All good, very good.

We were travelling to Devon from The Netherlands, and chose this hotel to stay in overnight. We loved the location because of its proximity to the town centre and supermarket. Royal Turnbridge Wells is beautiful. The restaurant of the hotel was popular with local people and served nice food. The service in the restaurant, as well as in the hotel were really great. We were also very happy with the cleanliness of the room.

The music in the restaurant was too loud for us. We could not have a normal conversation with eachother. Luckily the weather was nice, so we were able to sit outside, away from the speakers. The hotel room was quite hot, and we were only able to open the windows partially. The loud music from the restaurant downstairs could be heard in our room very clearly, but luckily it stopped when the restaurant closed for the night.

Very clean and modern. Rooms were very comfortable, decorated in a very up to date style. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable and had fresh crisp linen on it. Pillows were very plump and supportive unlike many other hotels that I stay in.

Restaurant was not air conditioned so was hot and I felt so sorry for the staff having to wear cowboy hats as part of their uniform.

We loved everything, from the moment we stepped through the door we had the best time! All the staff were amazing, so friendly and caring! Went above and beyond. We stayed for two nights and my daughter didn’t want to leave. Dan, Russ, Rachel, Paige and the whole team made a 7 year old feel like a little country superstar! Honestly the best booking I’ve made, we will be returning for both the restaurant and another stay! So many businesses could learn from the staff here. Absolutely bunch of superstars!

I like the decor and how it had all been done, in the style of the old wild west, the room I stayed in was styled in the same way, and the staff help me by carrying my case up the stairs without being asked to, all the staff I encountered was very friendly

That they didn't replace items in the breakfast area, for example there was four yogurts there on my first morning I took one next morning just the three, and so it went on, on my last morning there was only one to chose from and that was the same regarding the fruit too, so the choice wasn't there which was disappointing, and also the times for breakfast at the weekend I thought was to late at 9 am I had to changes to my schedule so I could have breakfast before I left, and that made my onward journey more difficult, other places I have stopped at, start no late than 8 am some even earlier, attracting businessmen who would like an early breakfast because of their commitments

The room: clean, spacious, well equipped, good shower. The breakfast, available until 12.00. The friendly, welcoming staff (although with one slightly morose exception in the late evening bar staff). Only 10mins walk to the Pantiles and very close to The Commons for walking. The fact that you can checkout at 12.00.

Music can be heard from the room all day: that's ok, but does it have to start at 09.00?

I did not really need the hotels facilities as I was visiting with family who are local. So I liked the staff, I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign up the first day and the maid left me a fresh towel bottled water coffee and milk and other things she may have felt I might need., on a stool outside the door. I didn't get to eat there - we had little time, but it is my eldest grandsons favorite restaurant so I will be able to visit it this autumn when I return to the UK. The room was great - themed but not O/T and was a good size and well equiped (though I always like a fridge personally.

I can't think of anything much. The car park is full of warning signs from the individual parking management that sounds very threatening and potentially very expensive - but the hotel told me, quite correctly in my case, that nothing would happen if I didn't register the car with them. The stair carpet was threadbare in some places which seemed out of sync with the condition of the rest of the area. Otherwise everything was great!

Western Theme and location .food was good. Breakfast was fantastic

Our room was above the restaurant as all are, and the first night we were there you could hear muffled but still pretty loud constant country western music only quietens down after 10 pm. That wasn’t fun. But I understand the theme but you can’t do anything about it.Second night I think it was less loud. At first hot water didn’t work had to go and mention it and it was a tripped switch somewhere. Breakfast, excellent ! but they got our orders wrong both mornings, and had to come back with eggs and other items, and pancakes I was looking forward to weren’t available as no one had bought the ingredients. Maybe they don’t know how to make them but I was looking forward to that. However I have to say the included breakfast is fantastic! And staff are very nice and friendly

Comfortable bed, clean and enough space in the room, although if it was any warmer it would have been too hot to sleep. Air conditioning would have made it better than the fan. Thumbs up for fridge. Super market next door. Fabulous cooked breakfast every morning 😊
