Lovely building and grounds. Most of the staff are trying hard.

Slow service at breakfast which is only served til 9.15 am. Many items on the continental selection were simply not replenished. So by 9am no croissants,no salami etc. Toast provided but had to ask three times for butter. Simple things but a bit frustrating. Half the tables left used and unmade up. Biggest beef is why does the cleaner want to come in at 8.30am?

Lovely building and clean, spacious rooms with great facilities. Lovely staff; the round-the-clock service was always good. Beautiful gardens and setting. The spa is excellent. We so appreciated that we could use it for no extra cost during our stay, we used it every day! We’ll definitely stay again.

This isn’t unusual for hotels but we found the onsite food very expensive for what it was, which is little but frustrating when they also don’t allow you to bring any food onsite — especially the breakfast did seem very overpriced (seeing “porridge and milk” as a £17 hot breakfast was quite funny) and this made things like not getting any toast with a full English breakfast a bit annoying. Breakfast service was quite confusing and it took a long very time to order even though there were lots of staff there — might not have mattered if we weren’t in a bit of a hurry (and the staff were always very friendly!). Bar could do with a bit of a revamp.

We stayed at the Spa hotel as a couple; we were lucky to find out at check in that we had a upgraded room. The service was five stars, we found every member of staff to be informative and polite. We didn't eat at the hotel, there are restaurants and cafes about 20-30 minutes walk through the park (torch required for when it's dark). We are looking forward to returning when the new spa area is renovated; hope there will be a Jacuzzi! We were in room 202; the room was spacious and extremely quiet. Mood lighting in the sauna/steam rooms would have been nice.

The only negative was that people were walking around the steam room/sauna area in outdoor shoes to get to the changing rooms, but we always saw staff regularly cleaning these areas. Also an instruction manual for the coffee machine in our room; I couldn't figure out how to use it; we even tried to find a YouTube video.

The hotel is stunning, especially with the frost making the gardens look truly magical! Staff are friendly and rooms are very comfortable. It's also in walking distance of the Pantiles which is a lovely area with great shops and eateries.

A couple of minor things which are more constructive feedback than a complaint! The first is that there is no conditioner in the rooms and no shampoo or conditioner in the spa, this is something I'd expect to find at a spa hotel and I didn't have any with me. The second is that the breakfast spread was nice but a bit limited compared to other hotels, a wider variety of fruit would have been good. Like I said, just small things that would have made a great stay perfect!

The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the evening meal was excellent. The staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The hotel location was very good and within walking distance of Tunbridge Wells.

The toilet cistern in our room (224) did not work at times and we had to use the toilets in the public areas, I reported the problem on our first day at the hotel and I was told later in the day that it had been fixed. After a couple of uses it packed up again. As we left the hotel I informed the hotel staff that the problem still existed and they should get a qualified plumber in to fix the problem. I hope they did this before any more guests moved into that room.

It’s an impressive large old property and our room and the decor in general felt sympathetic to its age. We celebrated our anniversary with a one night stay with friends and it felt special enough to feel a treat. It was clean and the staff were welcoming.

The pool and spa was a bit disappointing but I am aware that it is about to be upgraded. Breakfast was also a disappointment as my eggs florentine were served cold. I didn’t have the time to complain but I could see that the distance the waitress had to travel would probably make it difficult to ensure everything stayed hot.

Double Deluxe room - beautiful décor, clean and spacious. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - tasty, filling and well presented. Spa - ESPA Personalised facial treatment with Svetlana very refreshing and relaxing and the Spa reception team very helpful. Gym areas - a variety of equipment available in the health club from treadmills, rowing machines to free weights. Hotel restaurant - bright and airy with lovely views of the grounds. Restaurant staff - welcoming, friendly and helpful. Hotel staff - helpful and knowledgeable. Seating areas - comfy seating areas around the reception area. Heating - cosy and warm in the winter with soundproof windows. Travel - car park available and bus stop outside the hotel, bus journey from hotel to Tunbridge Wells train station around 10 minutes approx. Taxi journey around 5 minutes. Great for a mini break - would stay again.

My stay was too short!

Bedroom was huge with ironing and hot and cold drink making facilities. Huge ensuite bathroom with two sinks, bath and shower (plus loo). Super king sized bed. Wonderful view of the hotel gardens. Restaurant had great breakfast and dinner menu, service and food were great. Gym, spa and sauna were fine for a hotel: adequate facilities if very much on the small side.

The gym and pool were quite small. The sauna and steam room very hot. The treadmills in the gym were quite old. Measurements were in Imperial when every gym fanatic knows that they should be in Metric! The treadmills were loud underfoot and unstable, so I limited myself to jogging and not sprinting HIIT. But these are minor quibbles; overall the hotel was great.

We had the pleasure of staying at the spa hotel in Tonbridge Wells recently, and I must say that Elly and Raph provided the most exceptional service I have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was nothing short of amazing. Elly and Raph's attention to detail was truly remarkable. They took the time to understand our preferences and needs, and then tailored their service accordingly. From recommending the best spa treatments to suggesting local attractions to explore, they seemed to have an innate understanding of what would make our stay truly memorable. Not only were Elly and Raph knowledgeable and helpful, but they were also incredibly friendly and personable. They took the time to engage in genuine conversations, making us feel valued and cared for. Their warm and welcoming demeanor created a comfortable and inviting atmosphere throughout our entire stay. Special mention to Peter and Sam the night porters who looked after us. We were only going to stay a night and ended up staying for two! Couldn’t recommend more

We were upgraded to a very large room with attached lounge area. The breakfast was good with a large choice of cooked or continental food. My wife had a massage, which she said was good, but we didn’t use any of the other facilities, although I was going to use the pool, but collided with the glass door and bumped my head, so ended up not swimming, (My fault).

Had dinner on the first night, mine was ok, but my wife had mashed potatoes which was cold, in fairness the waitress offered to change them but my wife declined as that would have meant me waiting to eat my dinner and I had already started.
