Lovely building and grounds. Most of the staff are trying hard.

Slow service at breakfast which is only served til 9.15 am. Many items on the continental selection were simply not replenished. So by 9am no croissants,no salami etc. Toast provided but had to ask three times for butter. Simple things but a bit frustrating. Half the tables left used and unmade up. Biggest beef is why does the cleaner want to come in at 8.30am?

The building, grounds, location, facilities and staff are fantastic.

Breakfast is the only part of our stay that I would say must be improved upon. We sat down at our table at 9am on the first morning of our stay and although tea and toast arrived quickly by the time the cooked food arrived at the table the tea was finished and the toast cold as we waited 45mins for it to arrive. When we ate the food it was okay what you would expect from a buffet style breakfast although it’s a service breakfast that takes a long time. The same thing happened the second morning of our stay except it was a 55 minute wait. All the waiting staff were kind and helpful it’s the kitchen and breakfast chef that lets the team down.

The staff were helpful and friendly, always happy to help. The room was nice, but the cosy room was quite a small double for my husband and me. If you like space, or are bigger than average, I would suggest one of the other rooms that have bigger beds. The rest of the room and the ensuite were great. The bar was quiet when we wenton a Thursday but the member of staff was very helpful. We had intended to go and have dinner in the orangery but as they were quiet they let us eat in the bar. Breakfast was well made and a lot of choice. I spent a lot of time in the swimming pool... swimming, relaxing, and reading my book. It was lovely, calm and relaxing. The hours for children were limited which would have helped but when I was in there with children they were well looked after and having lots of fun, I even ended up joining in. I would definitely visit again.

I would have preferred a bigger bed, and there were a couple of stains on the carpet in the room we were in which didnt look very nice but everything else seemed clean and looked after so I did not worry too much.

My room was stunning, very comfortable, and tastefully decorated. My niece's room was perfect, and the huge mirror was exceptionally funky! Breakfast was very good, and the poached eggs were perfect! Service was very welcoming and we were wowed by the stunning chandeliers. I would like to single out DAVID who kindly came to the room and helped us with the coffee machine. I also mentioned the kind card and gift left for my 70th birthday celebration, David said that he had left these. A KIND gesture meant a great deal

I wanted to have a shower, which I braved. I have issues with my mobility after a leg by-pass last year, and my long-term neuropathy which not helped with diabetes At home I managed to have a suctioned HAND GRIP fitted for a few pounds. This gives me confidence to stand in the shower. Could you consider fitting these in rooms where you have to stand in the bath to take a shower. Apart from this I was more than delighted with the comfort design and cleanliness.

The food was exquisite. Freshly cooked poached eggs and then served from the buffet (they've just introduced this to speed up Sunday breakfasts). Perfect lamb cutlets. Lovely afternoon tea with totally fresh sandwiches. The staff were friendly, respectful and fun. The room was spacious with three lovely bay windows and I managed to work the shower! Hot water extremely hot! Great low bath so didn't need my step to assist. Couldn't find the aircon unit to turn on but that's me not looking properly. The Spa and the treatments were excellent, comfortable and Jess's massage brilliant. Pool was a bit smaller than expected from the pictures and very slippery, but got 20 minutes alone which was fabulous. There was a wedding but didn't hear any of it! So sound proofing top notch. The Orangery was elegant and the separate bar, cool and pub like with two fantastic bar staff. Expensive but worth it. The piped music was excellent! Thank you for the note on the tv showing where the on/off button was!!!

A few too many emails at the last minute for online checking in, but it did speed up check in/out process of both Spa and hotel. Didn't get my wake up call on Sunday but who cares!

The spa is a beautiful hotel ,the grounds also are lovely to walk around , the furnishings inside also lovely and comfortable , staff are extremely helpful and friendly sorting out any problems or questions you have , brilliant breakfast , great cocktail bar and waiter ,and really good location for Tunbridge wells

Only negative was my room hadn’t been refurbished yet , my friends had , mine was a little faded and could do with new carpet and bathroom updated ,also no coffee machine in my room which apparently it should . Only other thing is I didn’t find the pillows at all comfortable , rather small squashed ones if that’s a good description , not the size of normal ones in hotels or at home

We stayed at the Spa hotel as a couple; we were lucky to find out at check in that we had a upgraded room. The service was five stars, we found every member of staff to be informative and polite. We didn't eat at the hotel, there are restaurants and cafes about 20-30 minutes walk through the park (torch required for when it's dark). We are looking forward to returning when the new spa area is renovated; hope there will be a Jacuzzi! We were in room 202; the room was spacious and extremely quiet. Mood lighting in the sauna/steam rooms would have been nice.

The only negative was that people were walking around the steam room/sauna area in outdoor shoes to get to the changing rooms, but we always saw staff regularly cleaning these areas. Also an instruction manual for the coffee machine in our room; I couldn't figure out how to use it; we even tried to find a YouTube video.

Lovely building and clean, spacious rooms with great facilities. Lovely staff; the round-the-clock service was always good. Beautiful gardens and setting. The spa is excellent. We so appreciated that we could use it for no extra cost during our stay, we used it every day! We’ll definitely stay again.

This isn’t unusual for hotels but we found the onsite food very expensive for what it was, which is little but frustrating when they also don’t allow you to bring any food onsite — especially the breakfast did seem very overpriced (seeing “porridge and milk” as a £17 hot breakfast was quite funny) and this made things like not getting any toast with a full English breakfast a bit annoying. Breakfast service was quite confusing and it took a long very time to order even though there were lots of staff there — might not have mattered if we weren’t in a bit of a hurry (and the staff were always very friendly!). Bar could do with a bit of a revamp.

The hotel is stunning, especially with the frost making the gardens look truly magical! Staff are friendly and rooms are very comfortable. It's also in walking distance of the Pantiles which is a lovely area with great shops and eateries.

A couple of minor things which are more constructive feedback than a complaint! The first is that there is no conditioner in the rooms and no shampoo or conditioner in the spa, this is something I'd expect to find at a spa hotel and I didn't have any with me. The second is that the breakfast spread was nice but a bit limited compared to other hotels, a wider variety of fruit would have been good. Like I said, just small things that would have made a great stay perfect!

It’s an impressive large old property and our room and the decor in general felt sympathetic to its age. We celebrated our anniversary with a one night stay with friends and it felt special enough to feel a treat. It was clean and the staff were welcoming.

The pool and spa was a bit disappointing but I am aware that it is about to be upgraded. Breakfast was also a disappointment as my eggs florentine were served cold. I didn’t have the time to complain but I could see that the distance the waitress had to travel would probably make it difficult to ensure everything stayed hot.
