We stayed at the Alex Maastricht because we came to see the Andre Rieu show (which was also amazing) so the location was perfect, as it was close to the station, in a quiet spot with a nice view. The room was lovely - clean, fresh and modern, with a comfy bed and pillows. There were thoughtful extras and a coffee pod machine with brownies as a treat. The dinner was superb! The little touches such as free snacks and delicious bread made us feel spoilt and the food was exceptional. Staff were friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome.

There was nothing that we didn't like. I think the only recommendation would be for the breakfast to have a couple of options added to it. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but not quite as good as the dinner the night before which was amazing!

We stayed in room 12. The room was small, but the bed was massive and very comfortable. The bathroom was extremely clean and well maintained. The design/décor of the hotel was very cool. The staff were amazing - very welcoming (as all the Dutch we met were) and helpful.

Room 12 was small,, but big enough to fit the massive bed. It didn't have facilities to make your own drinks (others did) and the hair dryer wasn't brilliant. On the Saturday there was a pop up trance-street party at the bar next door. It went on all day and completely ruined the atmosphere. We felt very sorry for the staff, who had to endure it for hours; you could tell they felt very bad for the guests too. Thankfully it ended by 10pm (the hotel manager correctly advised that the permit expired then, don't panic from the AI searches on Google).

We were here one night for a concert and appreciated the comfy beds. We also got the breakfast, which was perfect. Staff was very friendly. We appreciated the little hand-written notes and candies in the room too.

The shape of the room was a little strange, with one side of the bed right up against the window. The room was clean but there was a noticeable sewage smell in the bathroom (we noticed this a few times walking around too, though, so it could have been a more generalized problem in the neighborhood that day).

Loved the size and cleanliness of the room - for the price we paid it would have been nice to have a bath robe and slippers. Breakfast was very tasty and satisfying. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Our room was on the third floor, so walking up to the room, particularly at the end of a long day, was a little tiring - a lift would have been helpful. The 'reception area' was a little tight. However, these issues were not 'deal breakers'. We still had a lovely time.

Centrally located and in proximity to the train station and an underground car park. Spacious room (the deluxe studio is in a separate building two minutes away from the hotel). Comfortable large bed.

There is no possibility to open the windows and to get fresh air into the room and in absence of a real air circulation and cooling.systeam this isn't ideal during the summer season.

The staff was fantastic and the room was much larger than I anticipated. It was great to have the restaurant right downstairs. As well, the location is in a great spot. I was able to easily walk around the city.

The room had no phone. Not a bad thing per se. But if you were traveling without a cell, you would have to go down flights of stairs to ask a question.

The room is outstanding, we loved how spacious it is. Very well renovated, feels fresh and super clean. The bathroom is huge with amazing tub and shower.

Even though the room is outstanding, the street it's facing is central, and I assume because of monumental windows, they sound insulation is just terrible. You can hear everything happening below, not talking about the cars, and buses, and cleaning machines at 7 in the morning on Sunday, and people shouting having fun. This bothered myself and my wife as we struggled to fall asleep due to this noise. The breakfast that we've included with the room rate was good, but super limited and had no options to choose from, rather something precomposed. There's no formal reception, you just walk in to the bar and that's the reception. Not negative, but rather was confusing as there's no formal label that you're entering hotel.

I stayed in a Superior Room with a bathtub. The interior is great, very clean room, and a comfy bed. The location is perfect if being close to the train station is important for you. Walkable distance to the old centre. Nice view. Beautiful old stained glass (the disadvantage of which I figured out early in the morning).

The stained glass is beautiful, but be prepared it is not noise-proof and the cleaning machines outside can wake you up at 6 AM.

Everything! The location was awesome and the room was amazing!! Very quiet and a great view! The room was large and very comfortable and breakfast was amazing!! The Alex was a fantastic hotel and great value! The Staff was fantastic, helpful and friendly. Very happy I stayed here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Maastricht and wanting a hotel near the Hauptbahnhof.

Nothing! I wish I could have stayed longer.

This is the second time for us to stay at the Alex and definitely wont be the last. Same as our previous stay the facilities, the staff and the location were all excellent. Will definitely be booking again.

A little more variety on the menu especially on the night of the concerts. Other than that no complaints.
