Superb location. Wooden walkways overlooked stunning scenery. Good bfast and bird viewing area. Tree frogs near bfast area! The self guided walk in the rainforest on north side of the road was excellent ( saw frogs/ snakes/ monkeys etc). Massive rooms. Clean bathrooms. Lovely pool.

The 2 hr organised walk in the rainforest could have been so much better. Guide not very enthusiastic and walked at a snails pace. Did not enjoy having to listen to a chain saw walking along the route. Not cheap, but it is a superb setting.

Our room was spacious and comfortable with chairs outside on a private verandah. Parking was managed and secure. The buffet meals were excellent and included soft drinks, a bonus given the price of everything in tourist Costa Rica. The resort itself is beautifully kept with covered walkways between the rooms, super pool and dining area. The rooms are set in groups of four in secondary forest with a self guided trail. The river is nearby with private primary forest on the other side. Fruit is put out in the morning for the local bird life, the number and variety of wonderfully couloured tropical birds is worth a stay in itself

The hotel is very close to the noisy main road which of course is not their fault. We took a tour of the forest with hotel staff, this was disappointing, a river boat ride down the Sarapiqui nearby was superb, not to be missed

This was a friendly and comfortable place to stay. We were lucky and had a room facing the river which gave us a splendid view. The visitors are mainly bird watchers and nature lovers and there are many opportunities for wild life watching. The howler monkeys visited while we were there and we had great views of them.

The food in the restaurants was disappointing and did not come up to the standard of the rest of the facilities.

Impressive complex with spacious rooms and great shower facilities, with great location close to river and forest. As a single traveller who usually stays in smaller cosier places, I found the La Selva to be unsurprisingly aimed at wealthier international couples and families and thus didn't find it that friendly, but that's perhaps inevitable and not a disrespect to La Selva.

Morning tour with guide was a little disappointing, as whilst very pleasant, our guide confessed that he wasn't the Jost experienced guide and another group saw more with a more experienced guide. Also heard of a very bad night tour with a stand in and disinterested guide. Worth checking who is guiding and their experience at booking.

The property is set amongst a huge area of tropical rainforest. The rooms are in groups of 4 with a generous decking overlooking the gardens. They are beautifully designed and have fly wires enabling us to have windows open at night. Because of the gardens and jungle we saw many birds, even howler monkeys coming along the bridge to access a tree. The restaurant overlooks a nice patch of forest, fruit is provided so saw many birds there. The restaurant serves good, tasty food.

Presently construction is going on building 8 new rooms. As we were quite near it tended to be noisy and dusty.

It's exactly what I expected and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff and management was very nice and even though we mostly were just relaxing before our trip home we still saw animals since you can't miss them when you're smack in the middle of such an amazing location.

I struggled with the food. My daughter was perfectly happy. We split the difference since there's some really great Sodas nearby.

Breakfast options a bit limited if you don't like rice and beans. The feeding station by the dining room is a genius idea. We saw so many varieties of birds.

Ww booked a night tour and we're told we would go over the bridge, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. That was my only disappointment. I would have booked a day tour had I known that.Magucal

Beautiful rooms on stilts very close to the river , abundance of wildlife and the most birds I have seen in my life. Easy to organize tours, we loved the unique nighttime one. Very clean. We went with our two children who also enjoyed the pool.

Some part across road appears to be abandoned though staff said hiking trail still accessible

Most things are made in beautiful wood. . Stunning garden area, has even red eyed frogs just outside of the dining area. They have also man6 birds and some other animals in the area. We made the chocolate and pineapple tours which were really interesting. Also the Nighttours was quite interesting.

Everything! The wildlife was amazing even just walking from our room to dinner! The staff were lovely. Breakfast was great and the evening meals at the pizzeria were great too. The only accommodation of our whole trip where we were provided with a cot.

Nothing.
