From the breathtaking location to the beautifully designed rooms and the warm attention of the staff, everything at El Silencio was exceptional. The lodge offers a perfect blend of luxury and nature. A special thank you to Estafny and Esperanza for their outstanding care and genuine kindness—they truly elevated my stay. Given that the lodge is nestled in the heart of the jungle, be prepared to encounter a few bugs and spiders here and there. That said, I didn’t get bitten once, and it never felt like a problem.

There was a WhatsApp concierge service available, but responses were sometimes delayed or missed entirely. Still, this was just a minor inconvenience, as every face-to-face interaction was warm, helpful, and efficient. If there’s one small improvement to suggest, it would be curating the restaurant music a bit more thoughtfully to better match the ambiance of the space.

Tucked in the middle of the jungle, this property is charming. The cocktails were incredible and dinners delicious, which was a welcome change from the usual food you get in CR. The gym is not large but had nice equipment which was perfect for a workout when it was raining.

Our room (16) was spacious and had a lovely hot tub but unfortunately not at all with the views of the jungle / mountains we were hoping for – def make sure you request a room higher up. The yoga class could also be a little tougher than just stretches.

The property was nature at its best. Trails for hummingbirds, trails to waterfalls,horseback riding, nice walk to small town(Bajos Del Toros), yoga and gym on site; just some of things we did, but other activities that we didn’t partake in as well. Beautiful country and from the moment we got picked up by the shuttle(the driver Rolando is a very nice and great guy) and the whole time at Silencio we were greeted by all great people the entire time. If you want a relaxing and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of life, look no further than here!

Liked everything, but if you are the type who can’t get away from your phone, you will get strong Wi-Fi for calls and texts and emails only on the property. You go into town or go on trails or hiking there is no cell service, but I didn’t mind one bit being disconnected from our mobile device.

From our arrival until our departure from the hotel the attention was personalized, José Manuel took care of us and I made me feel at home! The room was impeccable, every detail was taken care of with care: cleanliness, lighting, temperature, bed sheets, all great! We had dinner at the Las Ventanas Restaurant and from our arrival Randal our waiter attended us in a personalized way, we ordered the menu tickets (which were great) and for the main course we ordered something out of the menu and there we had a great surprise the Executive Chef Robert prepared us a risotto with shrimp that was delicious! An experience that far exceeded our expectations and that we will soon repeat!

Since you get there you receive only the best of everything! Location, the suites, the restaurant, the rainforest, the food, drinks and service. We were celebrating my significant other’s birthday and they helped me prepare a special surprise with a delicious dessert, and a celebration with violin happy birthday singing.

Everything was perfect. A luxurious way to explore the cloud forest and Costa Rica. Ample opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. The staff felt like family by the time we left.

The villas are so well designed, and one of our favourite hotel rooms ever, from the rocking chairs on the terrace to the private jacuzzi, we loved our time there! The hotel covers a big area and includes hiking trails (3 waterfalls on site!) and a garden where we saw lots of hummingbirds and a coati. Another perk is the free hot chocolate and cookie which you can take by the fire when the afternoon cloud forest showers occur! The staff were all super friendly, in particular Daniel who was really helpful in assisting with our questions.

The jacuzzi on the veranda of the suite was fantastic. We made use of the facilities onsite - the ‘mystic tour’ of the property’s forest where the guide enlightened us with facts on nature plus led us through a series of exercises to connect with the four elements of water, earth, wind and fire; plus the ‘sound healing’ session at the wellbeing centre. Both of these are highly recommended. The turn down service in the evenings was a lovely touch, and the staff are all incredibly friendly and efficient.

Perhaps the restaurant could offer more traditional Costa Rican dishes?
