We stayed during the worst rain event in recent history so we were stuck in the room most of our trip and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had to change dates due to road outages and they were very helpful. They brought us warm muffins one day and were always asking how they could help. Even in the rain, the view was so pretty. Every time the rain let up, even if only for a few minutes, you could start to see the birds and butterflies and one very funny squirrel. The bed was comfortable and even with the dampness of the weather, there was no musty smell, which in CR is really something. The room was so clean and smelled so fresh. Now the highlight of our day was the breakfast! Different every day and fresh and really yummy! The staff is so friendly and helpful. Even the owner came out every morning to chat and ask how he could help with our day. I highly recommend this place and would love to return when it’s sunny!!! lol

Gorgeous grounds. An oasis just minutes from Grecia centro. The room was spacious and had a fantastic terrace with a beautiful view of the river. There were birds galore. The staff was so friendly and kind, and the breakfast was nothing short of amazing!

Everything was great.

We only stayed for one night, but after seeing the property we wish we could have stayed longer. We were honestly just looking for a nice place to stay for our last night in Costa Rica that would not be too far from the airport. We were very pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the room (loved our welcome muffins!) and the look of the property. We were greeted personally and given a tour of our lodging before we went down to dinner. We had excellent communication from the owner and were able to arrange in advance to have dinner upon our late afternoon arrival. The food was tailored to our preferences and restrictions and was delicious. We had a chance to walk the grounds and loved the many murals adorning the various buildings. Breakfast the next day was generous and tasty.

We did not have any complaints.

The minute we arrived the owner and the manager were amazing. We actually all went to dinner on the first night, which was a real treat for us. We had the bottom of the hill house. And it was perfect for us. It was along the river so all night long we got to hear the water rustling by.the garden is amazing but the breakfast every day was a real treat and a way to start our morning. Charles has an amazing staff and John was a great host.

As other, he said parking is a little tight, but everyone was kind and we all managed to work it out. I would stay here even if there was no parking because it’s such a special treat.

A delightful stay in a lush forest setting next to a gushing river. I loved the beautiful murals, the birds, the excellent breakfasts which we shared with other lovely guests. Due to the constant rains the three days we were there, we visited with the other guests during our stay. Staff and owner were all most helpful, prior to our stay, and during. The bed was comfortable, and nice decor in room.

If you are arriving with a car, be aware that the parking space is extremely small, and located on a steep hill. So be careful when parking. Also, the walkways were very slippery due to the rains, and although the staff kept the walks clean and clear of debris, the sloping paths were sketchy. It would be good if more non-stick adhesion were applied to sloping walkways as the original ones have worn off.

Each day started with a nice breakfast, which included fruits, coffee, juice, salchichon and other items. Mr. Owens and his staff were very attentive to our needs. They were also very friendly. We were invited to Christmas dinner, and that was a wonderful experience. The property has a beautiful garden. The place where we stayed was fully equipped, clean and very comfortable. The Terraza B & B is a wonderful place to stay, and we highly recommend you consider visiting it. My husband and I are looking forward to returning there next summer.

Hosts (tom, john, paola, groundskeeper and breakfast help) were friendly, likeable and helpful. Everything looked and felt clean and cared for. Beautiful grounds. Breakfast was awesome. Huge shower.

A little hard to figure out how to get in the gate when arriving. Booking had marketed as two kings beds rather than two twins or 1 king. (I believe this was honest miscommunication which will be corrected...). No counter around sin gor tokletries but there is a cupboard.

The suite was absolutely beautiful, and everything was very private and clean. The property managers were very kind and welcoming, and we really enjoyed chatting with them while checking in and before breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and the gardens behind the property are beautiful. We stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon and this was by far our favorite stay.

Parking was a little bit tight so if you have a larger suv I’d just plan on parking along the street.

The owner Charles is a wonderful person. He has a huge heart and is a wealth of information. He pays attention to every detail and is so welcoming. His assistant John is lovely. The property is gorgeous and the garden is breathtaking. If you are a birder or love flowers, this is the place for you.

If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs for the occasional motorcycle passing by. I am a light sleeper and will be returning on my next trip.

La Terraza is an Amazing Guest House. Once you come through the gate you are in a tranquil paradise. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is excellent. This is more than a bed and breakfast, this is my home away from home........this is family. It is a must stay when you come to the area. They will arrange pickups and excursions and simply help you to feel at ease while you are here in Costa Rica.

I have enjoyed it all tremendously!
