I really love how welcoming and kind the owner and staff are here. It is unusual to find such sincere kindness these days. They work to accommodate all of your needs to the best of their ability, to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The location is about a 5 minute drive to the downtown area, where a wonderful winter festival happens every year called Fire and Ice. It is also quite close to Santa’s Village / Tree Top Trekking, and canoe rentals for the warmer months. The rooms have everything we needed, such as two beds, a mini fridge, microwave, and TV. The property also has an outdoor swimming pool for the warmer months, a barbecue that you are welcome to use, and a very large area in the back for leisure games or for children to run around and play. The shower and bathroom area have been newly renovated and look amazing! Cedar Lane is a gem of a find, I have been coming here for years with my family - you just don’t find places like this anymore!

The outside of the motel and pictures on the wevsite do not reflect the inside of our room. The room was incredibly clean and nice. The sheets were new and fresh as was the bed and very comfortable. The room and bathroom were recently renovated and very well done. My only complaint there was a smell, it was of cleaning products I believe or air freshener. But it was a little overwhelming. The room had brick walls on either side, so it was incredibly quiet. They also had a very nice pool in behind, we didn't use but looked well maintained and clean. I would go back again.

Close to town (3 mins drive) with a supermarket opposite and a couple of nice cafes and restaurants almost opposite. Although on main road, it was quiet at night. We were in the Queen double room with a basic kitchenette. A good size main room with wall separating the two beds. Friendly host - Jerry - who recommended a nice food truck located literally across the road

Wifi wasn’t working properly. It didn’t work in our unit at all. This also meant the TV didn’t function. As we were checking out, the the owner advised that getting the wifi serviced in an isolated location like Tobermory is very difficult. Made sense. Also - would be great if the staff knew a bit more about the local attractions. Not a major drama - we worked it out ourselves :)

The beds were cozy. It was very clean . The rooms apparently slightly soundproof , because we only time we heard the group of young people (next door) really was when we were outside. It felt safe as well because of the police station so close. All in all a good place to rest, or use as a home base. A good place to bring the whole family

The room deodorizer used bothered my allergies but after we aired it , it was fine

Only suggestion would be space needs at least 1 table lamp. Rooms were very clean and modernized. Our criteria for an overnight stay was proximity to downtown core of community and an affordable stay; would definitely book again.

Lighting harsh at night as overhead lighting very bright.

This motel falls in the category of what I call “cheap and cheerful”. The owner was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the price was great! I’ll be back and would recommend it to others as well. Plenty of food options nearby as well. Also, a fridge and microwave in room. The pool was closed but that didn’t bother me one bit and not really the fault of the owner. They were open and honest about it and I totally understand the situation.

The owner and staff were very friendly. The rooms were very clean. The bed and the pillows were good quality. The motel was located with in minutes of shopping. The price was fair in comparison to other hotels.

The pool wasn’t available which we understood because it needed repair and everything is a long wait, post Covid. The hotel is a little dated and cosmetically some things needed repair but that is only cosmetic. The important thing is it was clean.

Very quick check in, friendly staff. Completely remodelled room. Bath tub that you can actually fit in!

Needs a better coffee maker, and a bedside lamp or light.

It was pleasant, relatively clean, and all necessaries were provided. Staff was very good and helpful.

Overall, nothing negative stands out.

It was a bit loud, the door had a bit of a gap allowing some outside sound it. As well as some low level sound from neighbouring rooms. Overall it wasn’t a problem, but made falling asleep slightly more difficult.
