A good hotel, but nothing special other than its location near Vik and the regional sights. It seems as if the hotel's primary clientele is tour groups arriving on buses. The dining room was huge in order to accomodate large groups. Breakfast was fine, but not memorable. The room was large and clean, with a very good bathroom and shower (incluidng heated floors), and the beds were comfortable. It was also extremely quiet which made for good sleeping. The hotel made up a simple breakfast box for us since we had to depart before the dining room was open.

The setting is interesting. Nice view of the valley and ocean, and of the ice capped mountain behind. But our ground level room had a window looked at the back of the kitchen and an unimproved gravel lot. The window opened a bit, but since we were on the ground floor we couldn't leave it open. Breakfast was institutional, nothing special. No additional facilities like a pool or hot tub, nor a quiet bar.

Hotel was nice, staff was very friendly and helpful, overall we liked the hotel.Breakfast was perfect and more than enough, only problem is the priority of the big tourist groups make sometimes impossible to find a table.

For the dinner, first time we entered, we waited to be seated so when noone came, we decided to go ahead and pick our table which we reserved the day before(!).When waitress came, she implied like we didn’t wait and we just sit there without reservation with prejudice. But she was the only one and other staff was really helpful and always nice. Also rooms should have fridge. That is the one thing I’m missing from other hotels.

Location is close to Vík and other nearby sites. A welcome place to stay after a long day of sight seeing and driving. Breakfast was very good and the hotel offered a paid packed lunch of sandwiches, fruit, juice, and chocolate bar for eating on the go. Staff were friendly and attentive. Views were nice. Our room was extremely roomy

Rooms seem a bit old school and showers have the half glass design where some water can make it into the rest of the bathroom. For the price we paid, it didn't seem worth it. No fridge or microwave included in the room given the size of it if it's something you needed.

Location and views. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice size and clean. One of our rooms had a nice, updated bathroom (room 211). Appreciated the separate table for gluten free food at breakfast.

The inside is much nicer than the outside of the building. The common areas were significantly less nice than the bedrooms, but it was nice to have the common areas. A lot of the dining room was dark. A key card would have been easier than a regular key. Price is very high. One of our rooms had an older looking bathroom (shower tile - room 119).

This was an absolutely great place for our group of three adults to stay! The view from on top of the hill was beautiful and the room was the most spacious of any we stayed in during our week in Iceland. The common areas were great for group activities like playing cards and the room had two great arm chairs in it perfect for reading and relaxing in front of the large glass windows that provided a broad view of the ocean. There were multiple entrances for the wing of the building we stayed in so parking and moving luggage was extremely easy, even when we arrived in gale force winds and rain. The location is perfect for driving in to the black sand beaches around Vik or the nearby lighthouse. This was probably our favorite place to stay out of our week long trip and we would gladly stay here again if we ever return. The beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding! Scrambled eggs, pancakes, pastries, bacon, fruits, and much more were well stocked and the staff was very helpful even with a full room of guests. Really couldn't recommend enough!

For us, nothing; this was an absolutely great place to stay!

The breakfast that was included was American style and was very good. A large selection. Ample parking for all guest. A great location for seeing the waterfalls in the area, Black sand beach, Dryholaey area and getting a meal in Vik

We chose not to have dinner there due to the cost. We realize it cost a lot of money but the hotel is starting to show its age with the carpeting and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, nothing that would stop us from coming again to this hotel.

Breakfast had a lot of options, we didn't love the seating arrangements but understand that the hotel caters to larger groups. We planned ahead to leave later in the morning and went closer to the end of service to avoid too many people. Our rooms were located in a quiet hallway and we didn't hear other guests at all. Just outside of Vik, with easy access to many tourist locations.

I don't like carpet in hotel rooms and if you're a larger person you may have difficulty being comfortable using the toilet. In our room, it was tucked away in between the wall and the shower.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The woman at the front desk in the evening of May 25th, 2024 went out of her way to accommodate my young son and I when we had experienced some issues during the day (nothing to do with the hotel). I really appreciated her kindness! The hotel was comfortable, the food was excellent and the view was stunning. I will certainly stay here again when I come back to Iceland.

Having a mini fridge to store more affordable snacks/ lunch items during the day would have been helpful. But we were very happy with everything that was included/provided.

The hotel's location was fantastic, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable, with modern amenities. We booked 2 rooms and both were amazing. The hotel had essential amenities, including free Wi-Fi, parking, and a well-maintained outdoor area. Considering the stunning location and overall experience, I found the hotel to offer good value for money. The unique setting, attentive service, and delightful breakfast buffet justified the price.

There were too many large groups, and when we opened the room doors, we could hear loud noises. However, inside the room, it was quiet, so we didn't really care. The breakfast area was overcrowded but the food was good with a wide variety of options.

Great views. We had two rooms - one with ocean view and one with mountain view. Both were beautiful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was pretty good. There was no refrigerator - not even a common one that could be used to store food we were carrying, but hotel staff did offer to store the stuff for us in their kitchen, which we collected next morning. Dyrhólaey Stone Arch is pretty close (~8 minutes by car). Great views from there. But we did not see any puffins as we visited in May and some years they do not arrive until June.

There was no microwave, not in the rooms and not even a common one that could be used.
