Quiet little pub in a cute location. Expectedly dated. Clean rooms, with all you need for a short stay. Wonderful welcome, Kim and Richard were so accommodating, thank you!

Not didn’t like so much, but due to the location the pub closing hours are to be expected. We arrived late Sunday evening so it was closed but the owners couldn’t do enough to ensure we were looked after! Will definitely visit again!

Even before we arrived, you could tell it would be great. So welcoming & friendly. Room was perfect. Full of character in a beautiful, peaceful village. We had dinner & breakfast too. Plenty of food & drink options, including some irresistible South African choices. Shame it was just the 1 night. If we'd planned a bit better, we'd have stayed longer.

It is basic pub/hotel. Comfortable, clean room with tea/coffee/kettle and a small table. Our room was very quiet, at back of hotel. Even though there was a big rugby match on screens downstairs, still quiet. Breakfast, first class full English.

Dinner was the Friday fish menu.The waitress seemed very vague as to what each dish was, and had to go the kitchen several times to answer our questions. We did request normal, rather than mushy peas, but still received mushy peas. The biggest issue was that service was slow. We sat down at 7.30. At 8.15 we were told dinner would be another 15 mins or so, and it eventually arrived at 8.30. The food was good.

Beautiful building with real character. Large double room with everything we needed, a variety of morning drinks and biscuits , bathroom supplies which smelt lovely :) lovely little village. Value for money. We would recommend!

No food was available, however we could order delivery. I believe the road had a 30 speed restriction, however seems to be a route for noisy lorries exceeding speed. which is of no fault of the proprietor, its a shame.

Steve & Kim were very lovely, our breakfasts were delicious, hubby really like the coffee. we were pleasantly surprised & overwhelmed with the local artists mural walled beer garden, very quaint & full of unexpected treasures to discover. Our room was exceptional, unfortunately the shower lost pressure in the morning, but a refreshing bath wasn't a poor consolation, in fact (we had a sneaky bath for two, bubbles, wine & Vivaldi's Four Seasons) in the evening 😊 Will most definitely return, if Steve & Kim would have us back again in the same room.

If I had to be picky I'd say I don't like white linen, I feel really guilty as I'd dyed my hair purple only a few days prior & unfortunately I stained my pillowcase ..... sorry 😢 but honestly there wasn't anything that either of us didn't like, keep up the good work 😊

The location was perfect for what we wanted to do and very quiet. The room and en suite were large and reasonably comfortable. The shower was great! There was a problem with the first room we were given but the staff gave us another room immediately. Excellent value for money.

The cold water tap in the sink had to be turned on and off to get it to work. The room was very cold. The TV remote was fiddly to use.

Having read the previous reviews I wasn't sure what to expect but on arrival Clare was friendly and welcoming. Kim and Richard are excellent hosts and very accommodating. The Talbot is a beautifully historic base to explore the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to go back 🙂

The property was well situated. Lovely and clean. Most importantly the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. They made sure we had everything we needed, and was very accommodating to our pet dog. I would certainly stay here again. Lovely property and owners.

Bit noisy, as room was directly above the bar, but ear plugs solved the problem. Room was cold. We should have spoken up, but as soon as we laid on tbe bed,we both fell asleep! Constructive criticism, Tv needs to be higher to be able to watch laid in bed.

Really nice people, lovely room in a beautiful building.The attitude of the landlord and landlady, and the housekeeper were first class. The landlords have just taken over and were very pleasant and quick to sort out the minor issues that arose.

It was a bit chilly, but there was an electric heater in our room.so we were soon wamed up. New landlords just taken over so a couple of minor teething problems but these were very quickly sorted once reported
