We are Americans, in our 60’s, traveling the world. We have ‘status’ at IHG hotels (Intercontinental and Crown Royal) as well as Hyatt hotels. So let me preface this by saying we travel a lot and mainly stay at those hotels, so this is another category hotel and is not what those hotels offer. That being said, those hotels aren’t available here and this hotel rated high so we have stayed here about 9 nights (once we leave in a day). I guess the most notable thing is would we stay here again and the answer is definitely yes. The hotel has a very good vibe. The employees who run the hotel from the doorman to the woman who makes you your omelet in the morning, the waiter who brings your coffee or the front desk staff— every single person will ask you your plan for the day, if you had a good day, what you did, how you slept. They will address you by name and are always smiling. Everyone is always in a good mood and nothing is too much work or they try to do whatever will make you happy. The grounds of the hotel are quite nice. The pool area (the pool is nice and has steps going down) is private and nice and there is a gazebo that serves drinks or snack. They have a happy hour every afternoon 2 drinks for the price of one. The lobby area is clean with comfortable furniture. You will often be greeted with a cold towel. There is a small elevator (I have a knee injury so I take it) and a gorgeous wood staircase. Breakfast is included and it’s ‘simple’ as Asian Breakfasts go (maybe compared to what we’ve experienced) but it does the trick. There is an omelet woman who will serve up a great omelet for you or scrambles eggs. There are fresh fruits, we don’t eat bread but there are some bread items, some hot food items and cereals. The coffee bar is great and we usually indulge in cappuccino or latte but they have a variety of coffees. The location we like.

Well kept hotel and staff v friendly and helpful. In particular Miss Kim was super nice and made our stay.

The air conditioning in our room was not good and even after being on for hours couldn’t get cold enough. This is a problem when it’s 40 degrees outside and you have to keep the curtains closed just to keep the inside temp around 30degrees!!

What really made our stay special, however, was the staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive to our every need. They went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The salt water pool was a refreshing treat, and the Luxury room amenities were top-notch. The gym was also well-equipped and perfect for a quick workout. Sala Siem Reap Hotel is an exceptional hotel that we highly recommend.

Location excellent, particularly having incredible supermarket next door for daily essentials including bottled water etc etc. The hotel is not far from the center and market and just across the road from the Angkor Wat museum. All the staff at Sala Siem Reap hotel were first class and very helpful, attentive and genuinely courteous. After every outing they welcomed us back with chilled flanellets and a refreshing drink. They have a recommended taxi driver on standby for day hire, journeys to the temples or airport pick up and drop off. The tariffs are set accordingly, so no haggling needed. There are also many tuk-tuks to choose from nearby. All the premises are super clean, tastefully decorated and very well maintained, including the lovely pool. Happy hour every afternoon. They have very good chefs and the menu is very reasonably priced. QR codes will supply you with all the information you need. Price wise, we would highly recommend visiting in the low season, May or June, before it gets very busy. Because of the reasonable rate, we decided to upgrade. The rooms are fully kitted out (as described on the website) and, most importantly, the air conditioning worked faultlessly. We would like to thank all the staff for making our stay so special. The hotel’s location was excellent—right across from the National Museum. Next to it was the massive Angkor Market, where you could find all kinds of goods. Pub Street was just a 15-minute walk away. The hotel staff was extremely polite and attentive. They immediately addressed any issue or request we had. Especially Kim, the receptionist, was amazing. Her constant smile, endless kindness, and friendly conversation made us very happy. Our bathroom had a leakage issue, and they promptly moved us to a much better room. In short, we were very satisfied with this hotel.

It’s a somewhat old hotel. There is no handheld shower. The bathrooms could use some renovation.

This is a fabulous place to stay. Amazing staff and service- always greeted with a nice cold towel after a day exploring the temples. The pool was good to cool down in (two for one cocktails at 4pm) and a new supermarket next door was super handy. There were tuks tuks outside $2US to pub street ($3 to get back) and the national museum across the road. Nice and quiet at night. Rooms were a good size. Bed is firm but I managed to sleep. The team arranged all our transfers and tours and it went very smoothly. Overall we highly recommend Sala. We had 3 rooms and we all enjoyed it. Thanks Sala- you were all fabulous.

Buffet breakfast wasn’t on at this time of the year but we could order off a menu.

The staff welcomed us as if we were royalties. We had a sunrise tour of Angkor Wat and they prepared lovely breakfast boxes for us. We had lunch there twice as they were so nice and the Khmer dishes were delicious. They just open the hotel and we will go back one day. Thank you !

Very helpful staff and good location, directly across from the Angkor National Museum and within walking distance of most sights in Siem Reap. Handy, brand-new supermarket right next door. Happy with the tours that the hotel arranged on short notice. Well-maintained pool.

Except for the eggs/omelet station, the "hot dishes" at breakfast weren't even warm, even when I showed up first thing. Would also have appreciated a "pour your own" coffee station for refills. Mattress was a bit firmer than I cared for (but firm mattresses are very typical of Asian hotels, so that wasn't a major issue).

Luxurious. The hotel is stunning in terms of decor,location,amenities and staff. Til Til welcomed us like family and all the staff were friendly,diligent,courteous and helpful. A big shout out to the young doorman from Myanmar who was a revelation!!! The rooms are large and comfortable and the pool area is simply WOW… a line of tuc tuc outside mean transport to anywhere is at the ready. I never felt like a tourist or a guest in this hotel. I at all times felt like I was returning home and that is this hotels main attraction. Kudos

Insects in the bedroom! Instant coffee for breakfast.. Given the airport has moved 50 kms to the East, the hotel no longer offers free pickup/transfers. They will arrange taxis but the cost at $40 was a little high compared to a taxi arranged through Tripadvisor.
