I had a wonderful stay and truly can’t say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the owner Shawn made me feel welcome with his warm, personal approach. He was incredibly helpful throughout my visit, going above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. What really impressed me was how he genuinely cared for his staff—you could see the mutual respect and the supportive environment he’s created. It made my experience feel not just comfortable, but also meaningful. Shout out to Soso the bartender for keeping this one chatty drunk entertained.

The bathroom was smaller than I am used to but was a pretty minor inconvenience.

Booked this stay last minute and feel like we hit the jackpot for this price point. Our room was on the top floor and we really enjoyed the patio up there with view overlooking the river. Positive points: very good internet, comfortable clean rooms, lovely pool and common areas and the location is excellent! We loved being on the river, it's lively enough yet quiet at night for sleeping. The bed in our room is softer than one usually finds here...we actually prefer the firmer mattresses but if you're looking for softer ones, here you go!

Located 2 kilometers from the center of Siem Reap, what brings You some calmness, but still allows You to quickly get to the city center. Rooms in the ground floor are very spacious. Personell is helpful and there is always someone available 24h. They speak English. Nice chill area with a pool. Very good quality to price ratio.

Rooms on the 1st floor are quite small, Room, we had on a ground floor is spacious, but definetely needs some refreshments (repainting, bathroom renovation).

Our family of four loved our stay at River Retreat - room was comfortable and spacious for a very reasonable price. We especially enjoyed the pool and relaxing in the leafy outdoor spaces. A great location out of the hustle bustle of central Siem Reap, but within walking distance to plenty of tasty riverside eats. Many thanks to Ena for organising onward travel to the Thai border.

This was the cleanest hotel I have ever seen. I’m not sure if there were many other guests, it was very quiet. Beautiful place, and nice rooftop terrace. Staff were great at suggesting restaurants and asking if I needed anything. Ing was amazing, I really enjoyed chatting with her.

Absolutely nothing

The rooms are reasonably basic but very comfortable and loveable as long as you don’t intend staying in the room for extended periods. The shower and toilet are one of the best you’ll find and water pressure and temperature was spot on (important for me). As for the facilities they have a very nice restaurant area. As you’d expect prices are slightly higher than you can find out and about but for the sheer convenience it’s worth eating here. The infinity style pool is incredible and has great seating around the manicured gardens. As a digital nomad the big bonus for me was the fantastic workspace. I spent more time here than anywhere else. With a functional, comfortable and quiet setup this was a perfect working environment. The accommodating staff always make sure you’re well hydrated and well fed. Really have nothing negative to say about this wonderful hotel and amazing staff. If you’re staying in Siem Reap do yourself a favor and stay here.

The new owners were super friendly and helpful. They gave me good recommendations and arranged a driver to pick me up at the airport which was comfortable, safe and saved money. The room was comfortable and nicely furnished. Slept great. They also have a lovely room with 2 massage tables and masseuse available. They are still renovating but so far, it is beautiful and can’t wait to see it when I return. I felt safe there and very much at home. Good breakfast too!

The room upstairs with a broad balcony was a plus. The shower is really good. We liked the location, on the river and in between the center and Angkor Wat. The bar and little garden is a nice spot to have a beer. We had a swim in the afternoon, small pool but perfect. The hotel gives you a home feeling and the staff treats you like family.

This is a beautiful place. I can't thank the staff enough, and am very appreciative. The rooms are spotless, nice wood, comfy beds, and a good small fridge. Restaurants all around, good street food, the National Museum nearby. Great value for your money. Yes, I'll be back.

Everything was just perfect! Super clean, nice and welcoming staff. We did a tour with a tuk tuk driver the hostel recommended and this was also perfect (very nice English-speaking driver). We didn‘t try the food but nearby there is a local market and some restaurants. Just opposite there is a small park with electric cars (great for children!)
