Booked by work as bed only, but very happy with the hotel, very nice place, room was clean, bed was comfortable, and shower very good, when staying for work, thats all I care about! Hotel is in some lovely grounds, with views over the coast, and hills behind Aberporth, easy to find, staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice bar available, and places to site outside to enjoy the evening sunshine. As work paid, I have no comment on the value for money, but they wouldnt have sent me there if it was too expensive. Would happily go there again - even if I had to pay!

The property is beautiful, as we drove in the views were already amazing. When we entered we were greeted in the reception area. We were advised that we could treat the hotel like a home and use the rooms downstairs to sit peacefully, listen to music or simply sit and think. There are board games available to use in the beautiful lounge. Tastefully decorated for the type of property, with comfortable chairs and standing lamps. The bar opposite continues through with the themes of old meets new. The bar offered many variates of drink. Sometimes a hotel bar only has a couple of choices, but not here. Pretty much everything, reasonably priced. We sat in the bar room for a little while and then ventured out side through to a sea view, it takes your breath away. Sitting outside on very good furniture was a lovely place for my husband and I to talk and laugh and feel at home, feel like ourselves. Up a beautiful staircase we entered the grand hallway with old wonderful furniture. Our room was large, 2 chairs by the window to sit and have tea. We will book a room with a sea view next time. Our bed was clean and comfortable . The facilities were good. It was lovely to have such warm water for a bath considering the size of the hotel and the other guests. We only stayed one night unfortunately. We will definitely be returning.

Some places were a little untidy. We understand fully that an old house / hotel invites spiders in to make webs which you can’t always get. But the room just needed a hover round and to dust the skirting boards. I know it sounds petty, but this is a criticism easily fixed.

An absolutely stunning property with the most wonderful views! The room was large and comfy, and the entire place has an old timey charm to it that made me feel like I was stepping into a novel. Breakfast was also delicious and the staff very friendly and accommodating.

We booked the place specifically because it indicated there was a restaurant on site and we didnt want to have to drive to grab dinner however only after booking were we informed the restaurant is only open Thu-Sat. Luckily the town is only a 5 minute drive and offered decent options

We had the most amazing and perfect stay at Penrallt Country House Hotel for 2 nights over the New Year, which was a last minute booking. We were looking for somewhere unique, picturesque and quiet to stay and Penrallt did not disappoint. The house was beautifully decorated with xmas decorations and open log burning fires. Angela made us feel most welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in one of the garden rooms, which had recently been refurbished to an excellent standard. The direct access from the room to a private secure garden was perfect for our dog Lola. We will definitely be back. Louise, Gareth and Lola (the dog)

Thought it was a bit expensive to take the small dog just for one night when they don’t provide anything for them ( treats , poop bags etc ) we always take our own so not needed just thought it would have been a nice touch . It’s also a shame that the restaurant doesn’t open if the is less than 6 people dining ( although I can understand why ) would of been useful to have had a microwave in our room or access to one in the main hotel.

This is an excellent country house hotel, particularly the main part of the complex which has been renovated and presented to a really high standard. On our arrival we were welcomed by the owner and very attentively looked after by Simone and her mother, both of whom are hard working and an asset to the business. Simone in particular is natural, professional and keen to make your stay special. We stayed in a nearby garden room which was comfortable and well equipped. Evening meal was excellent and highly recommended. Without being too critical, although there was a varied choice to order for breakfast, the buffet selection was a little disappointing, it could have included seasonal berries, pastries etc, but what was presented was very nice. The hotel is ideally located for exploring and walking the coastal path. A taxi from the hotel to where was started our coastal walk back to the hotel cost £25.

The location was beautiful, it was easy to find with well written directions, and the staff was very helpful. It’s a historical place with its idiosyncrasies, but they were very nice and accommodating, and I would definitely recommend this to anybody.

Maybe our bed was a little small, as the room is huge and could held a king size bed. Other than that. We love the place. Again, the guy that checked in was great. Thanks for the good service people.

This is a fabulous hotel- the location is superb and the interior is really lovely. Rooms were very restful and clean - common areas were really lovely - classic but very comfortable and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again. The WiFi was not great and the standard of the breakfast was variable- but these are very minor points - the hotel was great and was truly excellent value for money.

The property is a historic country house with beautiful rooms and grounds. A stunning sea view can be seen from the hotel and grounds.The evening meal and breakfast were delicious and both menus offered a good variety to choose from. The owner was especially kind and helpful when we explained that we had a car problem and assured us that we could have a table for the evening meal and could stay another night if we needed to. We will definitely return when we are in a less stressful situation! All the staff were friendly, helpful and polite.

Finding the hotel was not easy from Aberporth but returning to the main road a different way seemed much better so putting that information on the website would be helpful.

Great location with an amazing view. Rooms were clean and recently decorated. Breakfast was comprehensive with a wide variety.

Water pressure in the main house didn’t seem good. Could do with some lighting on the path between the house and car park as the restaurant wasn’t open we went out for dinner and found it hard to see the path in the dark.
