Great stay. We only stayed one night on a road trip through Wales. The hotel is nicely located looking out over the estuary and the sea. Close to some nice hikes and secluded beaches. Golf course close by. The town of Cardigan is close but you will need the car. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant which is situated at the front with a view, ask for a window table if available. Staff was friendly, a bit unexperienced (holiday period and some young people serving the restaurant), but we got good food and a fast service. The restaurant also serves the breakfast in the morning. This is well organized and fresh cooked. wide choice of options for the fresh cooked breakfast and a small buffet for cereal and fruits. Rooms are nice and beds are good. We had a room on the back but you can have rooms with a view for those spending time looking out the window in the hotel room. the lift rather small and slow and the stairs can be a bit confusing the first times. It add to the charm for me.

Great location, very clean and comfortable. Good sized room with nice bathroom.

Restaurant menu very bland and boring, nothing homemade or locally sourced. The cooked breakfasts were disappointing - poor-quality sausages, very greasy fried bread, under-ripe tomatoes. I realise you obviously work on tight budgets but it would have been nice if the chef had been able to create some dishes to make the hotel stand out from the norm and provide more healthy (non-fried) options. The staff were attentive and helpful but can only work with what they have.

Quiet, location close to sea. Clean. Value for money based on price with paid. Popular area, plenty to do near by and within easy short distance travelling

Rooms are compact (small side) with limited space available and too warm with no option to control heating. Had window open, however kitchen extractor next to our room and window, meaning those smells come through. Restaurant area to hot and uncomfortable, fire was on with no need for ( we eat out at sister hotel instead in evenings for this reason).

Large car park. Lovely room with great bathroom, large walk in shower plus large modern bath. Towels and bedding all fresh and clean. Our Executive room had two chairs to sit and enjoy the view from the bay windows. These bay windows had blinds and curtains for those who like darkness when sleeping. Very nice lounge to relax and have a drink or a chat with the staff who were very friendly and helpful. Finally the breakfast, lots of choice, cereal, yoghurts, fruits and of course, a great full English whilst sitting looking out to sea. Definitely going back when next in the area.

Nothing

The situation of the hotel and accompanying views is superb. The staff were all very amenable and friendly. Nothing was any trouble to them. The room was spacious with a spectacular view. All amenities you could ask for. Breakfast was plentiful, good quality and nicely cooked. We had evening meal there a few times during the week and it was excellent. Great choice great food, well cooked and good value. Also a well stocked and comfortable bar with great sea views. Ample parking was available all week and although in a quiet location is within easy reach of Cardigan and main routes out. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The only thing I didn't like was having to go home !!!!!

The hotel was in a picturesque setting overlooking the estuary at Cardigan Bay. There was sufficient easy carparking and check in was efficient and friendly. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped with stunning sea views. We arrived quite late so had limited time to explore the area that evening having booked a table in the Flat Rock Bistro. Quality of food and service was excellent and good selection of drinks. Breakfast next morning was very good with decent selection to suit most tastes. We did local Parkrun at Teifi Marshes so had to rush a little but still thoroughly enjoyed. Great value and we will definitely be back!

We should have stayed an extra night

Friendly, accommodating staff. Amazing room with wonderful views (could have spent the entire stay by the window in comfortable chairs) On arrival we enjoyed a delicious lunch on the terrace, again with superb views.

Breakfast was in our opinion the only ‘weak link’ - the breakfast room was far too small, consequently tables were too close together and movement around the room was extremely difficult, both for serving staff and to collect food & drinks.

The property was excellent. The staff very attentive. Food delicious and excellent value. Plenty to eat!! We have stayed at the sister hotel (The Cliff Hotel and Spa just opposite) and the food and service at the Gwbert is much nicer. 10/10

The only downfall was no air con. The room was very hot. A fan is provided in the room but personally I need the room quiet to sleep and the fan would have disturbed me. I chose not to use it. This was the only issue. Otherwise excellent.

View was fantastic, outside area lovely. Nice to see some local beers on at the bar. Evening meal was great, liked the fact we kept our table for the stay. Staff were very helpful and engaging.

Breakfast was a little disappointing. 1st day toast arrived 10mins before meals, poached eggs were cold and hard and bland sausages. 2nd day toast turned up after most of us had finished our breakfasts. So overall a little underwhelmed by breakfast.

Location. Has one of the very best views on the west coast of Wales. The room was modern with an ensuite which all worked well. The bar and restaurant were very good and reasonably priced. Excellent breakfast the next morning.

One gripe. We stayed in Room 6 on the first floor. The floorboards in the room above are unbearably squeaky and noisy. It was fine once the upstairs folks had gone to bed, but while they were pottering about it was dreadfully noisy. DON’T stay in Room 6 until they fix the boards above!
