We were made to feel welcome when we arrived and were quickly shown to our room. The room we had was a bit tight in terms of space with nowhere to sit other than on the bed. The bed was however extremely comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was a lovely size with a really good shower. The room was equipped with a fridge, a kettle and a very good stock of tea and coffee. There were also shower gels and other toiletries available. The red lion is a pub with rooms rather than a hotel and it does this well. The staff are friendly as are the locals and we had a very good stay.

You enter the hotel through the small bar which when we arrived was quite busy with locals a separate door is available for residents and it might be good to use this for new arrivals. Breakfast although good was only available between 8.00 and 9.00 which meant a long lie was not possible if you had paid for breakfast.

Whilst hotel was somewhat 'rustic', it was exactly as I was expecting for a country pub. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and room was perfectly adequate for my needs. I asked for dinner recommendations and was very pleased with the suggested Italian restaurant on the High Street as it was excellent. Accommodation may not suit everybody, but it was perfect for me and I would stay again now that I am aware of exactly what you receive and what you don't.

Bit disappointed that I had requested parking and was told that it wouldn't be a problem but when I arrived no parking was available, although I was directed to a nearby carpark which was free. Also disappointed that WiFi was not free after the first 30 minutes.

The staff are lovely. The room was quiet, modern and the bed was really comfortable. The location was great. It was such a great place to stay to be in the centre of Cardigan. You get your own door so you don’t have to go through the pub door. There’s a mini fridge with water and the shower was excellent. I would definitely stay again.

The room that we stayed in was fantastic, far outceded my expectations for a pub. The pub is in a good position for the main amenities in the town, I have limited mobility and walk with a rollator but the distance to the main street was easily doable. The breakfast is lovely they asked if we wanted a full English and we said yes, a lady came down just after us and she had poached eggs on toast so I'm sure other options are available.

The only gripe I have was how noisy the pub gets, we were advised when I rang for another matter before we arrived that it is noisy on a Saturday night but it was a bit more than I'd imagined, so just be aware if you're looking to book. Apart from that all was good.

What a warm welcome from the staff and the locals A lively pub even on a Wednesday. Not for those seeking a quiet early night but if you love life, fun and good company then spend at least onenight here.

Parking is a bit of a problem but you can find somewhere to park with a little searching. Others have complained about tbe noise but this is a pub not a monastery. Embrace the 'Hwyl' and enjoy yourself

Staff were excellent. Went out of their way to help us when we had an issue with our car. There was a mini fridge which we hadn't expected. Large full English breakfast cooked to order.

It is above a pub so there is some noise but was all finished by about 10pm, so didn't bother us.

Great little locals pub with a few characters. Service from the staff was excellent. Rooms were lovely and clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional but we could have done without it being between 8 and 9 on the Sunday after a wedding party the night before. But overall that is my only small moan.

Lovely room and great location at a good price.

Hadn't realised there wasn't food here in an evening, but it's very close to lots of other eating options. Also no parking but there's an overnight carpark 100m away.

Excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.

The music from the bar could be heard from our room, so that we never managed to get to sleep as early as we would have liked.

Room was comfortable with a beautiful en-suite shower room.

Parking nearby very difficult. Strange having nobody on site during the night, I seemed to be the only person staying so appeared to be on my own in the property which was a bit creepy!
