Great hotel and ideal location for work but would also stay if on a break. Rooms are nicely done and everything is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is always superbly served by two ladies and delicious. So lovely and helpful. Cook was even giving a little serenade singing in welsh whilst she cooked breakfast. She explained it was something I think her father would sing about his mother or wife. Beautiful and lovely to hear and from Local choir.

Did worry a bit about the bedroom (room 23) facing the main road being quite exposed to road traffic, but as night came in it got a little more quiet to a silent nights sleep. So wasn’t much of an issue. And obviously morning work traffic started to get a little noisy but up and about by then.

Pleasant staff. Ideally positioned for our requirement to attend a local funeral. Good hearty breakfast. Have stayed before- 19 years ago.

A little “ tired” but to be expected given its age. One side of our double bed was sloping and very creaky. No extractor fan in the bathroom. Unfortunately our second night was significantly disturbed by the guests in the adjacent room returning at 2.45a.m. and trying to enter our room by mistake , then continued talking quite loudly and other people appeared to join them . This continued until they appeared to leave the room at 4.25 a.m. !!- quite a disturbed night- not really the hotel’s fault but very inconsiderate of those guests and there seemed to be a number of them!

Great included breakfast - continental and cooked offerings. The room I had was spacious, comfortable and had everything needed for an overnight business stay. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower. Good selection of TV channels, everything worked - nice touch with the biscuits in the room along with the coffee and tea. Friendly and helpful staff and really inexpensive when compared to hotels with similar amenities. I'll be back for work and pleasure trips.

There were power issues following a storm and we lost power in the hotel for about 20 minutes, not the fault of the hotel but there appeared to be no backup generator to keep essential lighting on in corridors, etc. The interior corridors are a bit dated but everything in the hotel rooms is modern.

We loved the old building with lots of character and tastefully decorated, everything about the breakfast was very good, plenty of buffet options and juice and our fried breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and tasty. Our room was snug but very comfortable and everything we needed and the bathroom was great with a nice big shower. The town was lovely and plenty of option for dinner.

The stairs, we were up two flights which wasn’t perfect but no major factor, and we had a busy road side room, the room was very warm so we had to open the window which meant traffic noise.

The hotel was lovely, as soon as we walked in you could see it was super clean, our room was fantastic, really spacious, blackout blinds and the bathroom was great. The bed was super comfortable. We stayed one night, but you could easily stay longer in that room, so much storage and lots of coat hangers. The staff we met were very polite and super helpful.

The only downside was the night we stayed the bar was shut as they were cleaning the pipes, but I wouldn't let that put me off, if I was in the area again, I would definitely stay there.

Breakfast was lovely, great selection. Bedrooms lovely and spacious. We asked for a slightly later check out and the staff were more than happy to help. Really appreciated that! The blonde lady at breakfast was wonderful. Very helpful and nice.

The bar wasn't open at all during our stay, which was very disappointing, nor was it open early afternoon. When we arrived (admittedly it was around 10p.m.) there was no staff whatsoever, the hotel was unmanned and it was very tricky to find our rooms. As 2 of us where in one building and the other two in a separate building. We luckily knew somebody staying at the hotel so they checked in for us earlier in the day.

The Staff were very helpful and friendly! The bathroom was lovely and the shower very comfortable indeed. The room was lovely and warm.

Would have welcomed, at least, 1 chair in the room. Also, extra pillows and a set of shampoo/ shower gel for 2 (only 1 was supplied, although we were a couple). Would suggest to have the access window/ door with no see through glass so one could benefit from natural light, instead of having to have the curtains drawn (and artificial lights on) for privacy.

Gemma & Fiona were brilliant, they really know how to deliver great customer service. Our room being a suite was good too. Breakfast for us both could not be faulted, more than enough of everything.

The idiot(s) in the room above ours who kept us awake most of the night, moving about, it is an old building with creaky floorboards so noise is to be expected.

For a touring motorcyclist this hotel is ideal. Clean, nice rooms, comfortable, secluded on site parking, great breakfast and always sensibly priced. The town itself has no shortage of pubs, eating venues and takeaways. Nothing not to like for me.

We thought the location of the hotel was brilliant as it enabled us to sightsee in the local area very easily. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and the staff (Cerys) was fantastically helpful and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We did not have dinner in the hotel as the restaurant was not open that evening but we had a fab breakfast all freshly cooked and had delivered by the chef. Our room was lovely and warm and the bed was so comfortable - great nights sleep :o) Thank you Cerys and breakfast room staff. Plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel.

My only comment would be that we did not have a room in the main part of the hotel but in one of the lovely outbuildings/cottages in the side lane. We would have liked to have been in the main building but we cannot fault the quality and standard of the cottage room. The weather that night was really awful and wet and we would have liked to of spent more time in the bar area which was very nice and cosy but went back to our room due to the weather.
