I decided to stay at Castle Inn for a couple of nights as I was attending a wedding at Gellifawr which was a few miles down the road. Naturally, it always helps the experience from the outset to be staying in such a beautiful part of the country (away from the hustle and bustle of my every day reality in Birmingham!), but I had a great experience. The staff were so friendly and hospitable from the outset, Nancy and Gill were absolutely fabulous (Gill - Great to meet my fellow Swansea, Penlan and Manselton brethren, a cherry on the cake and a small world indeed!). The room was clean and spacious, and very comfortable temperature wise considering how warm it was generally. At the bar, there was Blue Moon on tap, served how it should be which I over indulged with and gave myself a hangover before the wedding with (I blame the staff of course, but it was worth it!). The food was delicious, I ordered the gammon which was a very generous portion. The breakfast options were also excellent (I particularly enjoyed the bacon roll with sourdough, best I've ever had!). I'd throughly recommend Castle Inn as a place to stay if you're in the area. A side note to any travellers not driving anf relying on any taxis, do not use or book through any apps as no one will actually pick up the bookings! Home James is the firm that caters for the area, and the legendary Mr Peter Marks was the hero of the hour for my transport needs, he was brilliant also. To all at Castle Inn, Diolch!

The Castle Inn is in the centre of Newport and just a short walk down to the Parrog. Our room was roomy and quiet and we slept well after our walks in the beautiful fresh air of Pembrokeshire. Glynn and Alison provided a magnificent breakfast menu each morning and were so friendly and welcoming. They went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed during our stay. The food was exceptional and we will certainly return. Our little 2 night stay made us feel as though we had had a weeks holiday. Thank you Glynn, Alison, Thomas and Charlotte.

Excellent breakfast with varied choices to suit most tastes. Very comfortable mattress, and nicely appointed bathroom. Also enjoyed a nice dinner on one night of our stay. Good central heating, and location. Our housekeeper was extremely appreciative of the tip we left for him, and we would hope that leaving a gratuity for your housekeeper would be a regular custom. They work hard for little appreciation.

Clean, spacious room for a family of four - room 3; all the staff were genuinely friendly and interested in us; the food was exceptional - lovely full English breakfast, while dinner had a great selection: the Sri Lankan curry and wood pigeon pie were the standouts for me! Also, we were there on a Thursday and Friday night and the place was rocking on the Friday: great atmosphere, whether watching the footy or dancing to the live band. The locals seems to be having a wonderful time :)

Very friendly and helpful staff and owners. Spotless accommodation in center of town. A very nice restaurant serving excellent food. Only 3 letting rooms all of which are family rooms. A small carpark with reserved parking for residents. Lovely breakfast menu, with great ingredients and well cooked and served. There are plenty of outside seating and the pub is very dog friendly with own canine food menu too. There is a bus stop outside the building with regular service to Cardigan and Fishguard. Newtown is a vibrant small town with nice shops, bars and cafes etc. Our family room consisted of a twin bedded room with a double bed in a conjoined room. Ensuite bathroom with shower over the bath. This room was on the first floor , the decor , towels and bedding were all very clean.

The staff were very welcoming to us and the dog. Had supper there one evenings and breakfast; it was very tasty indeed! Very convenient to the town and beach. Parking was great.

Nothing not to like really. There was noise from the pub below until 11pm but it didn’t bother us much. The main courses were very tasty in our meal. We ordered the sundaes for dessert which were a bit underwhelming as the ice cream had lots of icy in it.

We arrived at this hotel at about 0230 in the morning after a 5 hour drive followed by a very [6 hours on the dockside] delayed ferry journey with 2 young children, travelling back from Ireland . The hotel manager and staff were nevertheless extremely accomodating and polite, despite the late hour. With a long journey ahead back to London the next day, they allowed us to sleep in and provided a late breakfast for us despite the later departure hour. The ambience is relaxing and tasteful with modern earthy colours and the family room, clean and perfect after our journey. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The warmth of the welcome by Glyn and all the staff . Delicious food. We had an evening meal and two breakfast’s , which were equally outstanding . A very good and extensive menu choice . Whatever food you selected, was really delicious. Our quadruple room was ideal and had everything we needed.

Everything was super.

The age & history of it. The room was right in the rafters so my daughter loved it….like being in a proper castle in an adventure..😊

Breakfast finished a bit too early I thought especially with a little one where everything was slow paced getting ready so a finish time of 10 or 10.30 would have been good.

The staff were excellent, the room was very comfortable roomy and clean. Food was excellent. Lovely location would highly recommend
