The hotel is in a super convenient location - a couple blocks from the train station and the popular beach, and surrounded by shops and restaurants. It also has unusually easy access from the street, since the entrance elevator goes to both the lobby and straight to room floors. We unexpectedly had a corner room, which was probably the biggest hotel room I've stayed in in Japan and had a nice view of the city. As a small bonus, the beds had a top sheet in addition to a duvet, which I appreciated.

The shower temperature was unstable, and tended to cycle between very hot and very cold.

Hotel MYSTAYS is near the Aomori train station with annexed LOVINA shopping centre and was a bonus coz we had large luggages and backpacks. The exterior of the building wasn’t impressive but the interior is modern and clean. It is situated near to places of interest like A-Factory, Nebuta Museum, AUGA Fresh Market, etc. The buses for Lake Towada and the Aomori Airport are outside the Tourist Centre and very convenient. They provided a multi-device smartphone cable in the room which greatly helped if you have multiple devices to charge. They also provided a water pitcher where you can collect cool water from a dispenser in the lobby and a small stainless steel stirrer which we doubled up as a spoon to eat our morning cereals. There is a small set of round coffee table, chair and stool which we re-arranged to make space for our large luggages and which we greatly appreciated after our stay at a Tokyo hotel at Tsukiji-Ginza where there was hardly any room to move around comfortably. You collect toiletries near front desk which include bath salts, cleansing/toner/moisturiser, slippers, combs, toothbrush set, shower cap, etc. We had daily onsen in the privacy of our room. There’s a Doutor Coffee place and Ootoya Restaurant on Level 1 of the building. The Sea Bream bento at Ootoya Restaurant was excellent and value for money.

There was only one person on duty and we had a language communication issue with one of the staff on one night. Other staff were fine.

A great place to stay in Aomori. Reasonably priced, the hotel delivered more than we expected. I had asked for a room with a view or the harbour, if possible and was told that unfortunately, the hotels view was blocked by other buildings. However, we were allocated a corner room with windows on two sides which was wonderful providing lots of light and did have glimpses of the bridge and harbour. The room and beds were comfortable, while the breakfast was an endless buffet feast - forget pastries... anyone wanting icecream and sake for breakfast, help yourselves to seconds or thirds!

We love aomori so much because of the thick snow even in december. So it doesn't matter where we stay. But Mystay's location is superb. Very close to A Factory and aomori train station, within walking distance. There are many japanese restaurants near the hotel. There is also an indian/nepalese restaurant that serves vegan food, just behind the hotel.

The double rooms are quite small. It is difficult to move around in the room if you have more than one big bag. But we managed it well during our stay..so not too bad.

The location is right off one of the main streets in Aomori, right next to the Nebuta museum and A-Factor y and the main JR station, not near the shinkansen station. Check in was smooth and we arrived a bit later so didn't need baggage drop off. Staff were friendly and helpful on check out. Room was a good size and all the amenities were great, offered good views of the area. Free distilled water on each floor near the lifts.

Not really a lot we didn't like if we are honest. The AC was a bit noisy but that's to be expected.

Great location. - 5-min walk to train station, 7-min walk to the famous Nebuta Museum . 2-min walk to Auga Fresh Seafood Market at the basement of the city council building. It is a must for sushi lover. Love the super fresh fatty tuna. The steak restaurant opposite the hotel is also a good choice for beef lover. Bus to airport and Airase Stream is in front of the station.

The hotel is a bit pricey during the peak sakura season.

The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Aomori Station. The room's square layout makes it easy to open large suitcases despite its small size. Cleanliness is well-maintained, and the bed is spacious with plenty of pillows, which is a major highlight. The bathroom is surprisingly roomy, featuring a separate area for the bathtub and shower, adding extra comfort.

The lift and corridors are not heated, so it's best to wear your jacket when walking around the hotel during colder seasons.

Really great location, just a few minutes from the train station and walking distance from all the major sights in Aomori. The room was really comfortable and clean, and the amenities are really nice (bath salts!). The breakfast was also surprisingly good, with a wide selection of items (mainly Japanese food) that made for a great start to our day.

The room is a tad bit small, but they make good use of the space and the layout is very efficient. The bathrooms are a good size though!

I did not read the handout which was very correct, but your staff helped me figure out more than one thing before I even read the information. They were very sweet and I so appreciated their help. Please tell them one traveler was very very grateful for the experience and it was up to them and they gave it

The breakfast was beautiful but I'm totally unfamiliar with Japanese offerings. I am the stupid one because everything looked great, but I wasn't sure which was what. Typical gaijin huh? Thanks for everything

This was an exceedingly lovely hotel. Very conveniently located, just a very short walk from Aomori Train Station and Bus Station and located within the Shinmachi Shopping Street. There were lots of restaurants and shops along the same side of the street of the hotel or on the opposite side of the road. We booked a Comfort Twin Room and it came with two huge beds. Each was basically a double sized bed. We could push these 2 beds together to form a super large bed, way larger than a standard king sized bed. We were all able to sleep comfortably together in one bed (my wife & I and 2 kids, 2 & 4 years old). Everything else was also good, from the bathroom to toiletries and the staff and facilities. The staff very kindly helped us forward our luggage to our next destination without much fuss. Breakfast was a lovely affair, with tables near huge windows that overlook the Exchange Square which houses experimental businesses, which was such a lovely sight in the snow when having breakfast in a nice warm dining room. The buffet had quite a wide variety of food (best in all the hotels I stayed in) with lots of different juices and heavenly rich creamy milk and wait for it... ice cream!!! My kids went crazy over the ice cream during breakfast. Overall we had such an enjoyable stay with a super comfortable room and great breakfasts to look forward to each morning.
