There is no elevator. You must carry your luggage up the exterior steps to the second floor. Located pretty far from most Halifax attractions. You must cross the bridge to get to downtown Halifax. Some exterior facilities are poorly maintained.

We've stayed here before and will again, whenever we go big city shopping or fly out of Halifax. It's close to all we want and has many restaurants and other services a short walk away. The front desk clerk was friendly and very helpful. We were there in the winter (both times) and the temperature in the room was easy to adjust.

It's hard to think of what was wrong with the room. It certainly wasn't classy or would it ever win a prize for great decor. I don't think there was a stand for opening one's suitcase, but there might have been.

My wife and I recently traveled from Ontario to Newfoundland in an electric vehicle, staying at economy motels such as yours, along the way. We were rather disappointed that no economy motels provided overnight EV charging. I would highly recommend that economy motel owners consider installing Level 2 240 volt EV chargers of approximately 30-40 amp capacity connected to a network such as FLO or Chargepoint. The network would collect the cost through their network RFID card or app to compensate the motel owner. A reasonable charge of about $1.50/hr. would be much more attractive to me, then staying at a luxury motel and paying $50 to $100 more per night and receiving “free” charging for approximately $10 worth of EV charging.

The location is great for the price as it is right near a main bus line to Halifax.

The counter person was very firm on what is not allowed and could use a softer tone to better client experience. Instead of “you can’t do this”, say “for safety of our guest, please don’t…”.

Perfect stay for a night as a solo traveler. Nice and helpful staff, the room was clean, the full structure is monitored by cameras, even the parking. No smoking in front of the rooms. Laundry room is accessible for guests from 8 to 6 (washing machine and drier operating with 2$ coins). You can reach Halifax city centre in half hour by bus n.10, stop is few steps away (ticket on board is 2.75$ coins only - no change given).

I would add in the Booking profile that there is a 100$ deposit, so that people are aware.

Good service from staff, basic amenities, clean. Short walk to Penhorn Lake Park, a beach, swimming, picnic area.

The noisy family of five next door at 11 pm, but, thankfully, the manger quieted them down.

The staff at the front desk was friendly and quick with the check in process. The room was nicely updated, comfortable, and clean, and the tub in the bathroom was great. It wasn't fancy, but it was definitely worth the price.

The outside of the motel, and the people (likely long term residents) hanging out in the parking area were slightly off putting. But it was only aesthetics, everyone was friendly.

Best value for money

The ventilation is connected. Even the non-smoking rooms smell like marijuana and Nicotine. But overall, it is not a big issue when you see the value.
