Location is excellent, right downtown (but it's quiet at night and backs onto the police station); we took a metro bus from the airport (which is miles away); cheap and easy. We decided not to rent a car; we could walk to almost everything we wanted (although Halifax is hilly), and downtown is under construction so driving in it does not look a treat. Hotel is not cheap but is worth it: nice amenities (although we didn't use the pool). Good and plentiful breakfast, as good as these buffets are, coffee and tea in the lobby all day. Something I hadn't seen before: the doors to the hallway and bathroom are very thick and substantial. The shower is a torrent -- I seriously worried about the drain capacity -- but very decadent. All the staff with whom we interacted were friendly and professional.

There are only 2 elevators for a 16 floor hotel, so it was occasionally slow and/or crowded (not that this is a real issue). We missed the rooms being serviced twice: both times were after 4:30 when we were back and tired. The scrambled eggs in the breakfast buffet were a bit runny for our taste.

The staff was very courteous and welcoming. The location is really good.

The ac in the rooms didn’t function properly as the thermostat couldn’t regulate the temp. You had to manually switch off the ac else it would be freezing.

Breakfast was fine, help yourself buffet. Location was great and as this was a weekend stay, parking is free on the road, no need to pay additional $ for hotel parking.

Did not get a greeting on arrival, or thank you for waiting(15 minutes) as two guest were in front of us. Room had only been set up with towels for one- housekeeping on our floor were very helpful in letting us have enough for two. The hotel charged a different price to our conformation. As check-out is paper free this was not seen until after leaving hotel. I subsequently call and refund dealt with promptly!

No parking available on site- we had to walk a few minutes around the block to get to parking. There was a sock in our room that did not belong to us. (missed during cleaning?) We arrived downstairs for breakfast just as it was ending. There was still hot food left and we started to get some- the staff immediately started removing everything as we were getting our food, making us feel very rushed. We understand that there needs to be a schedule, but if guests are there with plates and there's food left, it would be better service to allow them a minute to get some. It also would be nicer to extend breakfast hours on the weekend.

The breakfast was the best I ever had in any hotel I stayed and I was a flight attendant for 33 years.. To add to this was the service that was provided upon checkin by your Receptionist Kuldeep.. . She was so professional and pleasant and explained the Honors system and I joined immediately.. Definitely an asset to your company as a valuable Employee and just a lovely person .. Exactly someone you would hope for when you checkin .. in fact all your employees were marvellous and the staff in charge of the breakfast buffet were exceptional as well .. we loved our stay and will be back often we hope . Room was very comfortable and clean. Great to have fridge in the room. The location was great - situated a few minutes of a walk away from the waterfront. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast offerings were good and the hot food items were varied each day and were quite nice.

Disposable paper plates, cups and cutlery for the breakfast. This is very wasteful. The disposable plates did say they were made of recycled material but this created so much waste as they are still single use items.

Breakfast was great! A lot of variety, and the hot options switched each morning! Our room was very clean and cozy with a great view of the water. The location was fantastic! My mom and I could walk everywhere we wanted to go!

Honestly, it was really great. We were on the top floor, so sometimes the elevator was quite busy at times, but the visual of when it was going to be busiest (particularly at breakfast) was very helpful! We loved our room on the top floor though, so we didn't mind waiting!

We are satisfied with the Queen room at the 12nd floor with harbor view (although some directions were blocked some some buildings). The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable. The elevators require room key to select floor number. Breakfast was good. The fruits were fresh. There are on-site coin operated washers and dryers, very important to us. The location is great, walking to downtown and spring garden road. The staff were friendly. We will live here if come back to Halifax.

Paid parking. Breakfast area could be bigger in peak season because many tour groups live here.

Location- easy access to boardwalk. Great breakfast. Lovely pool.

Parking should be included in room cost or be less $. Our room key wouldn’t work and the staff were not that helpful to correct it. Apparently the lock shifted and needed a repair man to get the door opened according to the staff. After waiting for our key cards to reset and head back to our room, I juggled the door after the key card didn’t work again and the door opened. Very frustrated as we needed the washroom 🙈

Very convenient location right at the Halifax citadel, just a few blocks to the waterfront, a few street parking lots in front of the hotel, more private lots at additional cost in the back of the hotel, washer and dryer at disposal at additional cost, clean, good selection for breakfast

The hotel is getting a bit long in the tooth (furniture, equipment), but is clean and well maintained. As mentioned in several other ratings, it's a real pity (and shame) the breakfast (with a good selection) is only offered with single use plates and cutlery (paper plates and cups and wooden cutlery) - we think this is awkward concerning both style and environment and real reusable dishes would increase the quality and justify the room rate.
